This is just a great property! It’s spacious and in a great location. There are close local beaches, Mystic is a short drive away, and the neighborhood is beautiful. Would definitely stay again.
Just as listed. We went to just the right of the private beach in cove like setting, refreshing warm water, no big waves and walk out pretty far to your waist. Home to beach is a short walk or a place to drop off your stuff from your car. State park is short distance away. Owners always answered questions in a timely manner and accommodating in our needs.
This property was exactly as described. It was very neat and clean, and plenty of room for our family. Location was very convenient. The owner was incredibly helpful and responsive. A great stay, great value, great property. Would absolutely stay here again.
Clean and cute - pix are accurate be aware of no kitchen

Just ok
The house didn’t smell great walking in. Kitchen has no sink and we were expecting to clean all dishes in the bathroom. Next time I would want to bring my own towels because the towels given were well used. Says it sleeps six with only one bedroom not sure how six people would fit. Bathroom in living area is very strange. Toilet is a step up and the tub is So high up to climb in. Also, the only beach pass given is to drive up to the beach and drop stuff off. Says it’s walkable to the beach but it isn’t an easy walk. Also just a door between you and the others staying in the house. So we could hear the little kids next door.
This unit is just darling, it is very adequate for three people to enjoy a mini vacation in Niantic. The beach is very clean and welcoming a short walk although probably driving would be a better choice. If you are not in a fit condition, the unit is spotless and welcoming, the futon is perfect for sleeping as well as the bedroom. There are two bathrooms, which gives everyone plenty of space to get ready in the morning or for a special occasion the host is very accessible and understanding. I would highly recommend anyone staying at this darling, a little secret next to the beach in East Lyme Connecticut. Thank you too for a bow in the host for making our stay. A wonderful experience.
The host was exceptionally responsive to anything that we needed. We really appreciated his effort and help. The space was very clean. Parking was alongside the building making it easy to get in and out. The keyless entry system was convenient. There was more than ample space for 2 people. The appliances all worked well. There was no stove or oven, but the toaster oven, microwave and full-sized refrigerator were sufficient for our needs.
We arrived after dark, so we had to look closely for the address. The walk to the beach was about half a mile each way.

Misses the mark
The location and cleanliness were excellent; ac worked well, but this place lacked some of the basics one would expect. Doing dishes in the bathroom with no dishtowel or dishpan?!? Plastic plates for the microwave, plates that said not advisable for such use. Only 2 bowls, no can opener, no cutting board. We thought the host was inattentive but it appears our VRBO communications did not go through - not clear why that was as we haven't had that problem ever before. If the host did just a bit more this place could be stellar. Ideal would be if they provided beach chairs and towels, in addition to better basics.
Property is clean and easy to get to. Host is very quick to communicate. Easy In/Easy out. The bedroom is spacious. 2 bathrooms, one with shower, one with bath are clean and well stocked. The kitchen does NOT have a sink which may be inconvenient to some. There is a full size fridge / freezer with microwave and a regular coffee maker (regular coffee supplied) - be sure to bring your own milk, sugar and decaf. There is also a hot water maker so bring your own tea bags! There is a nice patio but no outside chairs so bring your own. TV is a bit small in the living room, and it only gets Netflix so no news, traffic or weather. 1/2 mile walk to beach with no parking so plan accordingly. Drop everyone off with stuff and then someone has to drive the car back and walk! Better yet - go to Rocky Neck State Park and use the beach there.

not impressed
not great, did not realize it was a duplex, walls paper thin and little kids making all kinds of noise. you were given 2 towels for 3 nights. no extra toilet paper, and paper towels, ran out. overall experience horrible.
Overall was a good stay. The host was helpful and the property was easy to find. It had basically everything that we needed for the night but that wasn’t a lot. I had thought it would have an ocean view because the listing had pictures on the water but it was just in a neighborhood. I never tried to walk to the water because the town beaches were so expensive that we had to drive anyway. One thing to beware of is that the place is NOT handicap accessible AT ALL. Even though it is all on one story, there are many ledges and weird steps to get over and even the bathroom has a step up to the toilet and the tub is very high off the ground. My partner and I knocked our arms and our heads multiple times on the chair rail that sticks out at least an inch. If you have mobility struggles, I do not recommend this listing. If that is not a problem for you, it was very lovely
Overall there's a lot to recommend this place and knowing its weaknesses through reviews let us prepare for a successful stay. We brought our own chairs, suitable for beach, patio and indoors. Futon is low and not comfy. Brought an air mattress for my daughter, our grandson was happy on the futon. The bedroom was fantastic, spacious with its own bathroom. Nice mattress. Attached bathroom was great, we all used the shower stall. The other bathroom is off the living room, very convenient to have two. The tub was odd, More shallow than normal and installed higher up than usual. My 12 year old grandson fell climbing out, my daughter almost did, so after that it was all about the shower. Plenty of hot water. There's a washer and dryer with a request jar for guests to pay. The machines did a good job and I'm happy to help with laundry expenses. The rent is very reasonable, this wasn't unreasonable. Bring your own detergent. The kitchenette is bare bones, with a few bones missing. There's a great full size fridge, a toaster oven, a regular toaster and microwave. There's adequate space in this area and I think the owners will improve it. No stove. We brought a hot plate (we're campers, bringing extra gear is inconvenient but no biggie) for hot dogs and beans on a rainy day and a collapsible grill. But the house is very near Giants Neck and Rocky Neck and a quick drive to Niantic and the amazing Book Barn. The owners are responsive and take good care of their property.

Disappointing stay
Property described as having kitchenette. Not accurate per all our experiences with VRBO. No sink, stove or oven. No pots, pans, bowls or cooking utensils. We brought burgers to cook and bacon and eggs. No knives to cut a bagel. Nothing to cook on. I asked host for electric fry pan and he quickly brought plastic bowls, a knife and an “egg Mac muffin” maker. Host asks you to wash dishes but there is no soap, or dish cloth or dish towel and only place to wash is in bathroom. Property uses beach photo as its main picture, but you cannot walk to any beach and there is no parking for the public beach access. They advertised a washer and dryer but there was a container on the appliances charges $2.50 for use of each. Bed very comfortable but living room futon was only furniture for tv and it’s not comfortable.
This property might be fine if you planned to be gone all day and eat all meals out.
My husband and I stayed here with our 2 kids who are under 2 years of age. We had everything we needed and it was easy enough to childproof. The bedroom was a good size with its own bathroom. The bed was comfortable and the futon in the living room was pretty comfortable, for a futon. The kitchen is small but fully functional. No stove or oven but we didn’t need them. The private beach was great, although we would not walk there with 2 little kids because the walk was up/down some pretty large hills and it was 90+ degrees. We were able to use the loading area with the pass to get dropped off and that worked great. The location is perfect, it was close to the Mystic Aquarium, Ocean Beach Park (has a splash pad for kids), restaurants, Niantic Children’s Museum, Mohegan Sun, Foxwoods, and many other places. Highly recommend this place if you need a clean place to stay in a quiet neighborhood with a small family!
I think the owner should take newer pictures of the place it seems some stuff has been updated along with saying there is 2 showers in the house and a big giant refrigerator the wifi is decent comes with netflix and youtube which is all ya really need.
I would love too see a 2nd TV in the main room but we brought our laptop so overall everything was awesome.
Great apartment near the Boston area! We only stayed 2 nights so we ended up using Uber to get around, but there appeared to be a bus station nearby. The place itself was very nice with a private entrance. The main door was loud/sticking when opening and closing it, but we informed the owner and they said they’d take care of it. Would stay there again!
The house was a nice walkable neighborhood close to the beach and State park. Inside was clean and well kept, with coffee maker and toaster. One downside was the kitchen, which did not have a sink, stove or oven. It would have been nice to have a couple patio chairs out on the patio too, so we could sit outside and enjoy the beautiful weather. All inall a nice place :)
This was exactly what my husband and I needed for a short weekend getaway! The host left us brochures and information on the local community. Everything was clean and well kept! Beautiful place and would definitely stay again!!
