About this property
Konnarock Creekside Cabin
Completely renovated, sparkling clean, fresh, and relaxing! Enjoy your cup of coffee or wine while sitting on multiple areas on the HUGE deck that overlooks Laurel Creek or take a seat on the boulder bench alongside the creek. Don't want to sit outdoors? No problem! The rustic farm table has a perfect view of the same creek! Enjoy our themed bedrooms, the flat screen TV, or try your skill with a puzzle but the plan of the day should be to "relax". We are conveniently located to the many bike rental stores in Damascus or on Whitetop. Mount Rogers is 20 minutes away and there are multiple stops in the area to hop on the Creeper Trail or the Appalachian Trail. Forget something? No problem, there is a community store less than a block away.

Everything about this cozy cottage was great! The house was very clean, had all the amenities that you could ask for (& more) and on trend decor. All the little extra touches that the host provided made it feel like home. We would definitely stay there again.
We were greeted with cookies. The cabin was perfect for our visit with family that live in Green Cove. We had a fire at the pit overlooking the babbling creek. We found everything that we needed and we could walk across the street to a convenience store. Overall we loved the creekside cabin and hope to be back soon.
We were in the area to hike sections of the Appalachian Trail. The house was in a convenient location for us. The cottage is well maintained and had everything we needed. We especially enjoyed the backyard.
House was perfect for our girls weekend getaway. Kitchen was well stocked. Only negative, wish we had known parking was approximately 100' away so we could have brought a wagon to transport everything in to save multiple trips. Would definitely stay again if we find ourselves back in Abingdon area.
We really enjoyed staying at this cottage! It was super clean and comfortable! The hosts are wonderful leaving cookies, fresh flowers and a personalized note. The cottage was supplied with everything you could need. We enjoyed sitting outside by the creek! We would definitely stay here again!
My mom and I went for our annual Christmas trip. The cottage was awesome. Unfortunately my mother fell ill, and our host was gracious enough to let us check out later. We will be back !
We needed a place to gather, slow the pace of life, see a few new places and relax. The rushing stream was therapeutic for us. We enjoyed the deck, the fire pit and yard. This was our second time staying here and it was thoroughly enjoyable. Thanks again!
We had a lovely stay last weekend and throughly enjoyed the home and all of the nature surrounding it. The home is very clean and is equipped with everything you could need. The yard is beautifully landscaped with flowers blooming by the creek. We loved the fire pit! We biked the Creeper Trail and returned to comfy beds and a nice shower. Thank you for the delicious cookies that greeted us upon arrival. We would happily stay here again and recommend it to anyone who wants to enjoy a peaceful mountain retreat.
This house by the meandering creek was perfect for our girls weekend bike trip! Although two of us had to drop out for various reasons, the three left had our own bedrooms each which was very nice. The owners have put a lot of thought into decorating it-it was perfect. The coffee station was the best and certainly enjoyed the homemade cookies and wax melts! We will be back for sure. Although a slight drive into Damascus, it's still not bad-very quiet neighborhood and a convenience store almost right across the street. Overall, a very nice, VERY clean place to stay. We really enjoyed ourselves.
Outdoors amenities with easy Access to Appalachian Trail crossings
The wrap around deck, selection of outdoor furniture and the awesome fire pit and stream side hammock made this a lovely outdoor retreat for our group of ladies who were here to support a group of 20+ scouts and adult leaders on an Appalachian Trail.
We found this property to be not only charming but very convenient to several roadside AT trail access points for purpose of support, and retrieval. We enjoyed bike riding on the Virginia Creeper Rail/Trail, bluegrass music and shopping in Abington, and our own (less rigorous) hikes on the Grayson Highlands State Park trail system.
The house was perfect for three people or a family as there were games, books, and a nice back yard. Laundry machine was handy, and kitchen was well supplied. The convenience store across the way was just that, Convenient. Thank you to Laurie for suggesting the visit to local Grimm Pottery, where we met Debbie and her mother working in their actual pottery barn!
If there was a sixth star to award I would do so for the Creekside Cottage. The house was perfect. The location was perfect. The communication with the owner was perfect. We, my wife, adult daughter, and I, had a marvelous 5 night stay. The appointments of the cottage left us needing nothing. It was very comfortable in every respect and we spent most of our time sitting on the expansive wrap-around porch enjoying the cool weather and night time sky. The owner was promptly responsive to my every inquiry. The store across the street provided all we needed and even a special Friday fish dinner to enjoy. The employees of the store were very friendly and responsive. This is a perfect location for anyone wanting to enjoy hiking the numerous trails in the area and for those desirous of riding the Virginia Creeper. If ever back in this area I would not hesitate to book my stay in the Creekside Cottage. A class facility!! In all my VRBO rentals this one would be right at the top.
Everything was perfect! The house was very clean and organized. Everything u could need was there. There were goodies for us when we arrived and I will definitely stay again when we come to ride the Virginia Creeper next time. Many thanks to the host! Hate we didn’t get to enjoy the fire pit due to the weather
We loved our stay at Konnarock Cottage ! The home is lovely, well cared for and lots of attention to detail - all of which we non-camping moms appreciated! Not sure where to begin... the beds are very comfortable, linens/towels are great, well stocked kitchen which is clean and organized, wonderful outdoor spaces...and indoor spaces... themed bedrooms were so fun ! Furniture is comfortable and well maintained. It was a delight to stay here, ride the Creeper Trail and explore the Grayson highlands.. Oh! and the Creek ! The sound of the creek and the fire pit and seating next to it is just perfect! We can't wait to return....
The property and hostess were exceptional! Hands down the best vacation rental we have stayed at to date! No detail left undone! The cottage is beautifully decorated, quiet and cozy! The owners have thought of everything down to the graham crackers for the s’mores! We hope to come back up next fall to see the leaves (since we don’t have four seasons in South Georgia! Lol!)
The Konnarock Cottage was a beautifully appointed creekside retreat! Our family was welcomed with fresh baked cookies and a personal note from Laurie. She also left a binder filled with brochures and local recommendations which we definitely took advantage of. The home was impeccably clean and had everything we needed to feel right at home! We enjoyed sitting on the deck listening to the creek while the kids fished and played in the water. At night, we roasted marshmallows over the fire pit and enjoyed the peace and quiet. This was just what our family needed!! Thank you to Laurie and Rick for responding to all of our questions prior to our trip and for providing such a beautiful place for our family to relax!
Our family had a quick time away at this charming cottage by the creek. The house was very clean and had all the comforts of home. The outside space provided a great deck and fireplace for roasting! Every part of the process was smooth. We would definitely stay again if in the area.
This truly is one of the most outstanding places to stay! This is our second stay as a group of friends. First to celebrate our husbands birthdays and this time, an overdue time away. It is simply the perfect place to go and unwind. For us, it is a bike ride, s'mores at the firepit, or meals, games and conversations at the kitchen table with the stream in the background! There is everything we need including a personal welcome note and homemade cookies! The house is spotless, beds are fabulous and the amenities are comforting! Thanks so much for everything!!
