About this property

Tiny Home Organic Farm Stay Families & Farm Fresh Food w Hot Breakfast

Tiny Home Cottage Farm Stay including cooked to order farm fresh hot breakfast, parking included on site.

Welcome to your private, stand alone farmhouse cottage! The space is a certified 27 foot tiny home built in 2016 with cozy cork flooring and cedar interior. Furnishings and appliances are new with the home. The kitchen is fully stocked with an induction stovetop and there is a roomy fridge, microwave and toaster oven. Nearby outside bistro seating area has table and chairs as well as 2 adirondack chairs, and is complete with a full sized gas fired grill. A communal 40x10 deck is mostly covered with patio furniture. On warm days, our 30x30 4.5 foot deep organic swimming pond is a great place to cool off. There is also a seating area around the firepit, perfect for roasting marshmallows!

We are located in the agrihood (planned community built around a common farm) of Skokomish Valley Farms-adjacent to the Olympic National Forest on the pastoral Olympic Peninsula, and nearby the Hood Canal. Stay with us and enjoy a cooked to order farmhouse breakfast with farm fresh ingredients. We also offer farm tours, milking, and picking opportunities seasonally.

The space-
The tiny home includes 3 beds in total: a queen bed loft, a single bed loft, and a single bed in a semi private bedroom. There is a bathroom complete with flushing RV toilet and standing shower stall. The galley kitchen is fully functional with induction cooktop, sink, refrigerator, microwave, toaster oven and also houses the washer/dryer. There is a very effective central heating/cooling mini split unit in the tiny home for the perfect temperature indoors in any weather.

We practice small scale organic farming (veggies, berries, fruit trees in spring/summer; maple syrup and morel mushrooms in fall/winter) and also raise chickens for eggs and meat, goats, pigs, and honeybees. Opportunities to participate in a number of farm activities (egg collecting, seasonal veggie/fruit harvests, goat milking, maple syrup tapping, mushroom foraging, honey harvesting and clamming) can be coordinated based on season and availability. Farmhouse meals are also available and vary seasonally.

Guest access-
Our lot consists of approximately 43 acres, with 4 acres fenced in. Guests will have access to the entire fenced in area. The non-fenced areas may be accessible depending on the season (blackberry season being the most common time to access these areas).

In addition to the 250 sq ft tiny house, guests will have to a common deck (approximately 50' x 8'), a propane gas grill, adirondack chairs, covered deck, patio furniture, fire pit, swimming pond, and our gardens. Supervised access to our pig pen, goat pen, chicken pens, apiary, and our blackberry patch is also allowed.

We live in an "agrihood" (made up of 18 private homesteads around a 735 acre common community farm-the Skokomish Valley Farm) with other farm families. The larger farm abuts southern end of the Olympic National Forest and our land sits between the confluence of the North and South Forks of the Skokomish River where Chinook, sockeye, and coho salmon spawn annually. We are our own family farm and participate in the larger farm's activities including seasonal farmer's markets.

Our farm is a 20 minute drive from downtown Shelton, the nearest city, and similar distance to the town of Union. We are 1.75 hours from Sea-Tac airport and 2.5 hours from Portland.
Running, hiking and mountain biking trails abound on the farm property.

Super cool place

Our family of 4 stayed for the night on the tiny house. We really enjoyed the tour of the animals, gardens, and land as these are things we appreciate. The house was comfortable and breakfast was delicious! Thank you for working so hard on this adventure of yours!!!

Cannot recommend Hualalai Farms enough!

If you’re the type of person who sees this option and is even considering a stay in a tiny house on an organic farm, just book it and book it now. You’ll be glad you did! This was an amazing stay and we will return. My wife and I, along with our five and eight year old boys still talk about it often even after returning home! David’s food. It’s amazing. Take advantage of the lunch and dinner options. We’ve eaten at acclaimed restaurants that don’t compare to his cooking. We’re back home now and each meal we’ve had we end up wondering, what is being served at the farm today? The pictures don’t do the scenery and overall vibe of the farm justice. We played in the organic pool, hiked (and ran) in the surrounding trails, and even borrowed waders from David and played around in the nearby river. David was a great host and someone we connected with easily. He’s very open to questions about the operations and how they got things started and he’s truly living his dream. Thank you David and family - we will see you again soon!

Hi & Welcome! We can't wait to share our home with you! We are a couple of busy working professionals and split our time between Berkeley California and our farm in Washington State. We are currently homeschooling our 2 children and transforming our rural 5 acre piece of land on the Olympic Peninsula in Washington State into a working organic farm. It has been wonderful to share the work of building a homestead with our kids and have them actively engaged in caring for the farm animals, helping with harvests and learning about the care of the land.
We have transformed our love of cooking from creatively using local farmer's market finds to growing our own veggies and fruits (and eggs!) and finding a multitude of use for them.
Our tiny home is carefully crafted to provide all the necessities, without the clutter of a typical family home (that's our other home!). We have outfitted the kitchen with utmost care and there is everything here to make a wonderful food, if our guests choose to do so. We would also love to share our own meals with you if desired. The rest of the home has a green theme and we go organic and sustainable whenever possible, from our mattresses, linens, cleaning, and bath/body products.
We know your stay here will rejuvenate and offer a simple taste of what nature has to offer. You can participate as much or as little as you like in our daily farm activities and learn about our sustainable agricultural practices.

Why they chose this property

We are Silicon Valley transplants who wanted to try homesteading, and have never looked back! This is a hyperlocal first generation farm applying technology to sustainable organic practices in our produce, beekeeping and animal operations.
