About this property

Modern house at Wells Beach

This is a single family home on the Rachel Carson Wildlife Refuge. Available year round with discounts in the off season for monthly rentals. The views are simply amazing. Beautiful Sunsets. 1 block from the beach. 3 Queen bedrooms and 1 bunk room that sleeps 6. There are 2 full bathrooms, one walk in shower, one bath tub. There is a 1st floor powder room and an outdoor shower. Basic cable and smart TV's in every bedroom and the living space. The bunk room has cubbies with outlets/USB for charging electronics. The bunk room also has a playstation 4. Feel free to banish the kids to the 3rd floor. Towels (Bath and Beach) and bed linens provided. Four beach chairs are available. Two grills available - one propane and one charcoal. Adirondack chairs and fire pit in backyard. Black out shades in all bedrooms. Mini-splits for AC.

Your Maine getaway

Two-month stay, Jan-Mar, mostly just me. Easily can see this being a wonderful fantastic Maine summer get away for most. Ample bedrooms (4), scenic views from all of them, picnic bench outside for summer grilling, easy short walk to the beach. Sunny dining area for watching sunsets (or enjoying the day view while you work, like me). Quite clean and supplied. Friendly host with easy conversation when needed. Excellent stay, even in the dead of Maine winter with a bum foot. Enjoy!

Great Stay

Despite less than good weather, this house doesn’t disappoint. We love the location and the size was perfect for our extended family of nine. The picnic table umbrella was broken but thankfully because of the weather it wasn’t needed much. I’d like to see a full length mirror added somewhere in the house but ultimately, this rental is practically perfect!

Another great stay!

This was our third year staying at this property and we will return again next year. The location is perfect with amazing views of the marsh all around, great for nights by the fire pit. The quick walk to the beach is perfect for our two young kids when we need to come back for lunch and naps. Another great week!

Wonderful!!

We loved our stay! The house is in an amazing spot with a quick walk across the street to beautiful Wells Beach and a private backyard right on the marsh. We were able to have both sun rises and sun sets right there. We loved the fire pit! The house was very clean and had plenty of space and amenities. The beds were comfortable and the bathrooms all new and updated. The kitchen was very well stocked with anything we needed. Loved all of the windows! We've already booked our return for next year!

Amazing 2 weeks

This property was perfect for our 50th wedding anniversary celebration with our 2 adult sons and their families. The home was spacious, clean and had plenty of towels for the beach and for showering. There was enough cooking pots and pans and dishes for all 9 of us. Truly an amazing home away from home. Will definitely book again!

Great location by the sea

A backyard overlooking a parcel of the Rachel Carson National Wildlife Refuge provided beautiful sunsets every evening. We had the pleasure of seeing numerous birds including a bald eagle every day. A short walk to the beach made it easy to go back and forth throughout the day. The house is a beautiful new home with great bedrooms and bathrooms. The kitchen was small for 6 adults and 4 children but that didn’t dampen our experience.

We were very happy with our stay. We had a great time. The property was private, but very close to the beach. The house was updated and well maintained. Plenty of room. Would defintely stay there again.

Great family beach house

Second year at this property, and we will be back next year. Amazing location, very quick walk to the beach which is very important to us with little kids. Clean house with views from every room. Also enjoyed the fire pit every night. With the three floor set up it is great to have multiple family members stay. For future renters, there is no AC in individual bedrooms on the third floor, just in the hallway so you may need to sleep with doors open if windows and shades open is not an option (we have small children). We will be back in 2024.

Beautiful vacation

We had an amazing week with great weather. The house was beautiful with views of the marsh, sunsets and the resident bald eagle. Communication was prompt and the location couldn’t have been better. Can’t wait to go back!

Our new favorite rental

We’ve visited wells for years. This is our new favorite rental! Communication was easy and the house was probably the cleanest rental we’ve encountered. Plenty of room for a 4 and 1 yr old to explore and play. Beautiful views of the marsh and eagles that visit frequently. The outdoor shower was something we never knew we needed and can’t live without in future visits. And the fire pit was a nice place to wind down for the night. Easy and quick beach access too! Already booked for next year and can’t wait to come back!

Great stay at Great Nest

House was comfortable and we loved the outdoor shower and firepit. Beautiful sunsets and the two eagles every morning! Our 2nd time renting and we love it. Owner was very responsive to questions that arose. I only wish we could book for next year but the time is already taken. We’ll keep trying to go back again

Conveniently Located Wells House

The location of this property is great, it's on a private road off the main part of Atlantic Ave. This is great when you have little children, because you can collect everything you need and walk over to the beach and enjoy your day. Great options to clean up before going inside the house, and plenty of options to help you enjoy your day at the beach too. Plenty of sleeping arrangements for a long stay.

Little diamond in the marsh

My family of 4 (kids 7&11) had a wonderful stay. Our friends joined us for a few nights with their teenage daughters and we had plenty of room. The house was as described and in perfect location for sunsets and walks to the beach. Watching the bald eagles sitting on their perch was also pretty neat. The host was very communicative when we had questions. The only wishes we had with the house was for a bigger kitchen since we cooked a lot and for an AC unit or ceiling fan in the bunk room. The kids got super hot up there and it was too hot out to open windows. We had a great stay and made so many memories. This place is a diamond in the marsh!
