Fun experience

Great historic property located down the quiet lane of one of SLC's oldest and most historic neighborhoods. Tino was the perfect host and the accommodations were perfect. In the heat of the summer this lower level apartment stayed perfectly comfortable. The unit was really well decorated, the kids room was a 'hoot', the amenities were nice. The place was very clean and well arranged. I will return when I go back to SLC. Thank you Tino and Rebecca.

Perfect location - easy mountain access

Booked the red house very last minute for our Christmas trip to park city. There is no detail left to be imagined in this quaint basement apartment. There is a separate entrance on the opposite side of the house from the main entrance & the hosts are amazing with providing VERY detailed instructions on how to get there. The host will greet you at the property & provide you with an excellent tour as well as tell you all about the history of the house. It was definitely one of my favorite things about the welcome. It just made you feel so taken care of! The apartment was decorated for the holidays complete with a Christmas tree! There are a few stairs at the entrance that are a little bit steep but there is a handrail. The kid room has a bunk bed with a full / twin mattress. Living room tv is loaded with every streaming app subscription you could possibly imagine & the wifi was strong. The kitchen is fully equipped with a small gas stove and small fridge. The host provides lots of coffee options as well as snacks and breakfast items. There is no washer ; dryer which would be the only thing you would miss if you're staying for a really long period of time. The location is centrally located, supermarkets are around the corner, target, Walmart, Trader Joe's etc. Maceys supermarket is even closer and has all the necessities. The location is located in between two fitness centers if that's your thing, I would highly recommend the EOS fitness. Would absolutely stay again!

A Special Place

We visited Salt Lake City for the purpose of skiing at both Alta and Brighton. Initially, we were simply looking for a good location to serve as our base for some great skiing. The location of the Red House is indeed ideally situated for great access to many of the local ski areas. Upon our arrival at the Red House, we quickly realized that the accommodations we had selected would really add to our experience in Salt Lake City. Rebecca and Tino have created a very special place to stay. The two of them are truly wonderful hosts. Every detail regarding the living space has been carefully considered and their attention and concern for the comfort of their guest is amazing. There is an amazing story surrounding the Red House with parts of that story told through the care with which the space is furnished and cared for. The Red House is located in a neighborhood and is accessed via a private drive. Grocery stores and other shopping are just a few minutes away. The areas surrounding the home are great for walking. We look forward to another visit to the RH in the future.

An interesting and unique property, with plenty of history, hidden in a residential area of SLC. Hiding in the basement of a heritage house, it's a super private location. Spacious rooms. Nice beds but not particularly comfortable seating generally. Bedroom 2 has no closet or chest of drawers. The bathroom isn't particularly big or tall, but the heated towel rack is very nice in the coolish basement. TONS of extra blankets plus 3 space heaters keep you warm in the cool of winter. The basement location – a former root cellar – would be very nice in summer heat. The owner is great to deal with. They kindly load up the kitchen with lots of things for breakfasts and tons of snacks. There are a TON of games in one of the bedrooms, so lots to do in the evening. This property would suit a family with kids very well. It's pretty conveniently located to get out to ski areas. There's not a lot in the immediate neighbourhood, but if you look around you'll find plenty of restaurants and services like grocery stores within a 10-15 min drive in most any direction. As noted, it's hidden down a narrow private alley. There's room for 1 car to park, but expect a bit of wiggling to get in and out.

It was great to have such a large quiet place to stay in between the wedding chaos. The only things that were difficult is that I have mobility issues and there are 7 steps to go up and down to get to the apt. The bed squeaks and you can not be tall and large and not have some difficulties in the narrow places. The owners were great and it was a life saver to stay here vs a hotel.

Red House Stay

My cozy accommodations at The Red House provided the perfect setting to operate out of during my 3 week visit during which I escaped the Wisconsin winter and spent the days with my SLC resident daughter and family. The blooming crocuses and daffodils outside my door providided a springtime welcome. Conrad

Beautiful Basement Apartment in Park Like Setting

We were in Salt Lake City for a family gathering and found this hidden gem after a long internet search. This basement apartment is in a historic hand-built house. It is centrally located, so whether you're going downtown or into the mountains to ski you can get there quickly. The apartment itself was immaculate, beautifully decorated and quiet. The house was stocked with food, snacks and a coffee maker. Tino could not have been more gracious and cordial as a host. There was a big screen TV in the living room and three recliners with cup holders that were theatre quality. We really lucked out when we found this property. The house is located in a park like setting away from the rest of the neighborhood. I enthusiastically recommend this rental and would go back again.

Rebecca's Great Grandfather and 10 boys built the home beginning in 1897 and completed in 1899. We had a chance to buy the home and bring it back into the family after a quarter of century of private ownership. We did and now we are offering a slice of history by opening up our 1,100 sq. foot guest suite.

Come and join us. We look forward to hosting you.

What makes this property unique

The beautiful park like setting is just remarkable. Lovingly cared for by a caretake/grounds keeper the home's 3/4 acre lot is situated on a private lane.

The 4 story Victorian is amazing and the wrap around porch in the spring and fall is a place to relax and have a great view of the "twin peak" mountains in the near distance.
