On a 40 acre estate, outdoor soaking tub, fire pit, hammocks, pet friendly!
Forest Cabin is a tiny house with a loft sleeping area that is 380 sf of coziness & solitude located on a larger 40 acre estate. Wake to a peekaboo view through the forest canopy & Puget Sound, relax in the outdoor clawfoot tub, rest in a hammock and watch the chickens and ducks peck about. Walk 5 minutes across the field to access 1000 ft of private, southern exposure Puget Sound beach. Enjoy a fire in the wood stove (wood provided)! Leashed pets are welcome with an additional $40 pet fee.
The chickens and ducks meander outside your door. In the summer there are two hammocks in the trees for r & r. The beach southenrn exposure beach with Mt. Rainier view is 5 minutes away through the forest trails, and there is plenty of room for walking in solitude on the estate.
There is plenty of wood around for a fire in the fire pit or at the beach (unless conditions are too dry - check with Lisa prior to lighting any fire, please!). There is an outdoor propane bbq for grilling,

We came on Christmas day and stayed for 2 nights. It was such a great spot and we loved all the wood in the cabin. So many places to explore outside. The property was beautiful
Loved the whole experience! Beautiful property with breathtaking views of southern Puget Sound and Mt Rainer! The cabin was small and cozy (especially for 3 people) but one of the most fully stocked I have stayed in! They thought of everything to make sure you are comfortable. I would definitely stay again!
The photos don't do this place justice! The beach and the views of Mt. Rainier are nothing short of magical. Comfortable, private, quiet. Definitely planning to return again!
The views of Mt Rainier are fantastic from the bluff above the beach. Great place for a sunset glass of wine. The beach is very private and a short walk to the light house. It is the quiet end of the island, so you have to drive to town. Great places to visit in town and other interesting beaches and parks. The cabin is small and rustic, but has a good feel. Be careful on the stairs to the sleeping loft...
We had an amazing time at this property! The bathtub was definitely the highlight for me, but the entire stay was wonderful. The property is beautiful and it's nice to be able to walk right down to the beach. If you need groceries, definitely get them on the mainland before coming over, as the grocery store has a very limited supply. We'd love to come back!

The cabin was cute and the grounds were beautiful but we were not aware it was a shared property right next to home owners house and other rentals. Also, there were no blinds or window coverings so at night we did not feel like we had the privacy we wanted. We ended up leaving after the first night. Great for some just wasnt quite as secluded and private as we thought we were getting, otherwise very sweet property.

Beautiful property right on the water. The forest cabin was warm and cozy and had everything I needed. The bed was comfortable, the kitchen stocked with the essential equipment, and the screen in the loft was a nice touch - I was able to plug in my laptop via HDMI and stream movies in bed. If I was there for work, I would've been able to use it to work on as well.
There are trails on the property for hiking, and it is a short walk down to the beach. I saw several bald eagles and otters while paddleboarding.
Would definitely stay again next time I'm on Vashon!
Our stay was absolutely wonderful. We were able to walk around the property and were just blown away by the amazing views. In the morning we were able to make the short walk along the beach to Point Robinson and it was definitely a highlight of our trip. Hope to come back some day!
The tiny house is adorable. The outdoor soaking tub is genius. And the location, on a large estate with beach access and wonderful forests to wander through, is a treasure. Mt Rainier watches over it all, across the water.
We had perfect weather for the destination wedding that we were guests at and this location was very close to my sister's house. Having chickens, ducks, and horses on the property was a plus, as was being able to walk to the edge of the property overlooking the water. As set forth in the property description, be forewarned about the steep climb to the sleeping loft, but you should also know that if you are 6'6" and weigh 250 pounds you will probably not fit into the shower. This was certainly the quietest place that we stayed during our 2 week travels on the West Coast.
I loved this little property. It was peaceful and I enjoyed a long walk from the property to the light house.
Being completely honest I think the cleaning fee was very high for a place that wasn't very clean (dead bugs *I get it's an place in a garden but for the fee I would think those would be cleaned up and also a little dusty)
Starting a fire inside was not easy and I gave up.
The wifi wasn't working during my stay but it helped me to relax and enjoy nature more.
The outside bath tub was amazing and the house had bubbles!
The instructions for checking didn't match the lock box at the property but luckily the side door was unlocked and I was able to get in.
Besides these minors things I would most definitely re book this place and you should too!
Idyllic getaway experience-
Cabin was small but cute and cozy and had everything we needed. No need to go anywhere, there is plenty to do (trails, beach walks & campfires)
This property is perfect for a Washington getaway! It’s cozy and the sweetest spot for a vacation on Vashon. The lush woods that surround the cabin give way to gorgeous views of Mt. Rainier over the water. Absolutely wonderful stay!
Tucked away in the trees with ducks and chickens roaming around was this charming small house. The property the house sits on is large and fun to explore and it's a short walk to a rocky shoreline. Great place to relax and enjoy a peaceful getaway from the city!
I grew up on Vashon and knew about the property because it is adjoining my parents property, so I made an offer on a whim, and it was accepted. That was 29 years is an ideal place to live in every way: 20 minutes to the ferry, 30 minutes to downtown Seattle on the passenger ferry or 40 minutes on the Fauntleroy/West Seattle ferry. Plenty of room to ride horses on the beach, roads, and there is a great horse park on the island.
What makes this property unique
Privacy, quiet, tranquility, 14" of rain on this side of the islland and 46" on the opposite side. A 40 acre forested property with a fabulous beach to walk. Deer, otter, seals, heron, eagles, and the occasional Orca or Humpback.
