good for price
It's cozy, affordable and has everything you need. It was exactly what I needed but it had some minor inconveniences also like the shower drained so slowly and the walls were so thin. Location was great, close to everything but it could get a little bit sketchy at night. I don't think you can find anything more affordable in Waikiki.

Changes need to be made
Very dirty and no compensation for having to clean it myself. Needs a good deep clean and check of electrical outlets. Bathroom will never be clean until the paint that was placed OVER the dirty walls is stripped and properly applied. I was not told there would be construction workers outside my open window and was very surprised they saw right in (on the top/7th) floor. I should have been given notice. Had to pay for parking but it was not enforced if someone parked in my spot. Close to a lot of things to do but EXTREMELY noisy, don't expect to get rest. The "emergency number" goes to a voicemail that is not returned. The property manager is very nice and she was the only saving grace. I would not stay here again or recommend it to people.

Nice place
Nice apartment centrally located. Robert is a bit of a phanthom and i had to call to get access but i did receive a call back from someone who got me in the apartment and to them i say thank you very much for the help. The unit was clean and ready for use ...main problem is the shower head is kinda low but no big problem for me. I would recommend to anyone looking for a good base of operations as all you need as far as transportation or foodis readily available.. The beach is two blocks away and ls no more than a five minute walk.

Great location, VERY DIRTY
Always remember you get what you pay for. The price of this studio is great and the location is prime being in the heart of Waikiki and so close to the beach. HOWEVER, this place was dirtier than a motel 6. Mold all over the shower mat, dirty toilet, stains on the pillow cases and bedding, grime all over the floor. It was so nasty I refused to walk around barefoot and even wore shower shoes to bathe. I texted Martha about this a few days after check in. I was not trying to be difficult as I said I would clean it myself, but I wanted to emphasize everything they missed given we are in a pandemic cleanliness should be the top priority. Her only response was that she would drop off mold cleaner for the bathroom (which she never did). A week later I sent a more formal email to management which I then got a call from Martha saying she couldn't do anything about it because I didn't say anything earlier and had already been living here. I told her that 1. That is incorrect I texted her asap about the matter, and 2. I wasn't looking for reparations as I was more emphasizing that this should not be missed for the health and safety of future guests. She then offered to send the cleaning crew to come fix the matter. Mind you, the "fix" was mainly for pressing things like the moldy mat and stained bedding. It didn't fix the cob webs on the ceiling, the dust all over the fan, the grime on the base boards, and so forth. As for the studio itself, think of it more of a hotel room with a kitchen and microwave than an actual studio. Only one sink that has to be used for both bathroom purposes and sink purposes. Mind you, it is not a real kitchen sink in that there is no garbage disposal so don't plan to do any real cooking here. Not only that, but when I tried to do simply cooking like making eggs for breakfast the fire alarm would go off so try to avoid cooking here all together. Parking is available here but must be reserved in advance and they charge for it. Laundry facilities were old had to go on one floor to wash and then another floor to dry because the correlating washer/dryer on the same floor was broken. Homeless is a huge issue; parked my car here over night and someone tried to break in. Tried to come home one night and there was a homeless woman guarding the elevator looking for a fight Overall, if you're strapped for cash and want to be close to the beach then I guess this place works. Martha is always running around and Robert I never saw once.

Is ok for the price
Not very clean old noisy apartment close to beach shopping and restaurants. I still woudl book it again it was convenient located ok for the price. Well i was not on vacation here actually so it was ok. Suprized Martha when checking in was more focused on counting the forks one could steal i guess then the cleaningess of the place which suprized me. When booking Robert is very responsive by the end unfortunately not. However if you call management Art is very friendly and takes care off you. Even with the items which are not ok its still an ok place to book.

We were disappointed in the appearance of the apartment and the building as a whole.
We were expecting a better quality room and building for the amount of money we were paying. The sheets for the bed did not fit the bed and were torn. The bedskirt had several rips. The bathtub was not clean, and we were told to obtain some cleaning supplies to clean it. (We did!) The washer and dryer and area that housed them were not clean. We cleaned the washer and dryer before using. There were supposed to be three working appliances on different floors for washing our clothes, but only one was working. The best part of the stay was Martha! She was wonderful in trying to assist us in anyway possible. No, we will never stay in this place again. We thoroughly cleaned the apartment before we left...washing the towels and bedding, cleaning the shower and sink and refrigerator, microwave, etc. even washing the kitchen and bathroom floors. Yet, money was deducted from our deposit and we don't know why. Hopefully, we'll get an explanation soon. Robert and Linda Retzlaff

A great place to stay
The studio unit was very spacious and clean - much larger.then a hotel room. It was nicely furnished and appointed with a comfortable bed, a kitchenette with a small refrigerator, great granite counter top, plates, pots and pans and cooking facilities. The building is in the heart of Waikiki, close to a supermarket, shopping and restaurants. Best of all, it is a short walk to famous Waikiki beach with its stunning sunsets and free nightly Hula show. Excellent value for the money.

Nice studio in strategic place at affordable price
This place is absolutely at a strategic location in Waikiki. It is very near to the central beach of Waikiki and the bus stops. We had good internet connection and there's an extra walk-in closet with drawers where you can keep clothes, place your baggage, or surf gear. We didn't need to use the air conditioner, as the ceiling fans and windows provided for a nice constant breeze. The place was well maintained and clean (although the age of the building does show), and overall is a very good deal in terms of costs and the facilities it offers. The one thing that took getting used to is the night-time noise of Waikiki, but this is an acceptable trade-off for such a strategically located place. In comparison to some of the negative comments that we read before staying in this apartment, there appears to have been lots of improvement. Would definitely stay here again and recommend this to those looking for affordable, central accommodation for longer stays.

Best Value In Waikiki
I live in Waikiki and can say for certain that you will not find a better deal than the Whale Watcher for your Hawaii vacation. Recently, my Dad came for a three month visit and stayed here. The room was spacious (huge walk in closet too), well appointed and had a very comfortable bed. The location is perfect. It is dead center Waikiki, close to every amenity, one block away from every major bus route in this city and best of all, only 10 minutes walk from the beach! The ladies who run the place are friendly, efficient and always helpful. The street itself is busy as is every street in Waikiki, so you will encounter activity on the outside. Inside though, the building is very tranquil and clean. I would not hesitate to rent here again for any of my future visitors.

Location makes this condo great
Great location. Very close to everything. Beach 10 minutes away. Farmers market very close ( 5 minutes away ). Food Pantry ( 5 minutes away ) ABC store close by. Restaurants close by. The Bus stop close by. Staff is very friendly and helpful. Very clean. Rooms are large. Lots of room to hang your stuff.

Trust Me - You Dont Want to Stay Here
We have stayed here off and on for the past several months. The owners appear to be running out of money and the building is deteriorating fast: 1. Three different resident managers in 6 months 2. quality of staff deteriorating 3. elevator often malfunctions 4. most washing machines are broken 5. cockroach problem in most units 6. constant problems with the internet 7. plumbing problems and flooding in the units 8. When will the bedbugs appear?

Decent Room, Crabby, Rude Resident Manager
The Accommodations are Decent for the price, but you can tell it is a budget place to stay. There's no picture of the kitchen simply because there isn't one! What they call a Kitchen is just a extension of the bathroom with a hot plate, and a cabinet. The Building is under new management now, and the Friendly Hosts no longer work here. The Resident Manager Pat has the opposite of the Aloha sprit. And if you need anything even if it is something you should of had in the first place. She'll be very rude about it and make you fell very unwelcomed. I have seen many New guest waiting outside for her with all there luggage trying to get ahold of her. Jerry is very nice! but you only talk to him when making a reservation. I would not recommend staying here if your looking for a affordable place to stay check Craigslist first.

Loved my stay
I stayed for 6 nights in the studio. The rate was great, and the room was at least twice the size of hotel rooms I have stayed at prevously. The room was clean, and set up for a very comfortable stay. The location was great, a couple of blocks to Kaulakua, and a block away from the canal to go for morning runs. I was a block away from the bus stop, so the couple of trips to Ala Monoa Mall were easy. I will definitely stay again. Pat

Affordable, comfortable, clean, and safe.
The studio is located off the main thoroughfares of Waikiki and accessible by foot to all of the the area attractions. If you have a car, affordable, covered parking is available with public transportation being a few steps away. The building and accommodations are quaint, clean and well maintained. Wi-fi is free and has a strong signal. Jill and staff are pleasant and welcoming. If you are not used to a little city noise (the occasional car, passerby, etc.), you can close the windows and still be comfortable. I would recommend this place for those that are looking for an affordable and extending stay on Oahu. While the restaurants on the island are plentiful and world-class, I would take advantage of preparing meals in the studio. Thanks Jill.

Great Time -
The studio apartment was a wonderful way to visit for a two month stay in Hawaii. We really enjoyed being 1-2 blocks away from all the exciting things on Waikiki Beach. There was never a time that we didn't have something fun to do. My husband and I enjoy walking and we felt we were at a very convenient place to make our decision and then go from the apartment. The room was decorated with good taste and plenty of space for the two of us. Jilda is fantastic and made our stay more exceptional by her friendly smile and appreciation for any needs we may have had for our stay, which for us was simply a paring knife. It is worth every second to be in paradise. I would recommend this property to friends and relatives.

You can't beat this location/price/value.
We rented this property for 2 of us on 25th aniiversary. This is a very nice condo in an excellent location, 2-3 blocks from Kuhio beach. Fort Derussy etc. are 5 min walk. The location is SAFE, we walked at night without any problems. Best part is condo comes with free parking (you might not need car if staying only in the city). It's a small condo for 2 people but very clean (note this is NOT a resort so dp NOT expect ocean view or pool etc.). ABC store and grocery place Food Pantry is 2 min walk. WIFI was not a problem for me during the stay. Property is exactly as pictured. Kitchennet and bathroom and one large room (plus large walk-in closet to store luggage etc.) Jilda is excellent to communicate with, initially we had confusion on dates but we worked out to everyone's satisfaction. Initially I was afraid of street noise but our unit was on 5th floor and it was very quiet once we closed windows. It has only fans but that was enough to keep room comfortable. If I visit again I will not hesitate to rent at this place. Let me repeat you can't beat price/value and location for this rental. I highly recommend this place. Robert

very clean little studio
This is a perfect place if you want to visit & explore Waikiki. The location is excellent, just minutes from the beach and the main shopping/hotel road. You can walk everywhere, or take the bus just around the corner for only $2.50. You can even hike to Diamond Head crater from the apartment. The kitchenette and bathroom are very small, but there is a wonderful big closet in the apartment where you can store all of your luggage, clothes and shopping bags. Everything was super clean. There is an a/c unit in the room, which we didn't even have to use. It never got hot inside during the day. At night it felt great sleeping with the windows open; however, there's a lot of noise coming from the road!!! The owner was wonderful and let us stay until 2pm on the day of check-out. The one and only problem we encountered was the wireless internet, which would go in and out or not work at all mostly in the evenings. It was one of the main reasons I chose this place, therefore I only give it 4 stars (in addition to the noise). Other than that, I would definitely recommend this place and even return to it myself.
