Great Trip
The house was wonderful. It had everything we needed, and nothing we didn’t. It was in a great location for day trips to Camden and as far as Acadia National Park and Bar Harbor.
Liked: Cleanliness, property conditions & facilities, communication
My stay here suited my family and I extremely well. The house was very charming and back in time . We enjoyed our stay and would definitely stay here when we visit surrounding areas again. There wasn’t shopping or entertainment close by but that was the purpose of my trip hence, everything worked out quite well
Cozy house, tasteful traditional decor, renovated bathroom with spa shower, well-stocked kitchen utensils, patio with firepit. No TV. Quiet village with historic buildings, well located for coastal destinations. We had a wonderful time. There were a pair of eagles nesting nearby.
This lovely small house has been restored with much love and a very strong aesthetic sense. It is loaded with period-appropriate treasures. There is a nice view of the river and a very pretty village green just over the bridge. I was very happy with my stay there.
This comfortable and well-equipped house was delightful! We saw a graceful heron on the river across the street. We had everything we needed and then some. Perfect location for us. Quiet area and you can see the stars because there's almost no light pollution. Great fun! We'd happily stay there again!
We had a great time in Maine doing our hiking sailing kayaking and the Rockland Lobster Feat :). I even fished across the street but didn’t have any luck
I booked your cottage so that I could commute to cooking classes at Salt Water Farm, Lincolnville, Maine. Not only was your cottage located perfectly for the three-weeks of activities I'd planned, your kitchen was impressively equipped so that I could make the many dishes from my class. The walks along the river with my dog were beautiful and the morning eagle sightings delighted me. My friends came to visit, and we found your cottage to be cozy and comfortable. My dog loved it, too. Hope to visit again.
My wife, dog, and I spect a few days sightseeing the area. The house was a great base of operations - comfortable & clean. We watched bald eagles on a tree across the river most mornings. The locations was great for morning and evening dog walks; including the small park just a short walk away. We enjoyed our visit.
Beautiful spot on the river. Relaxing and quiet. The back patio was great for sitting and having dinner. The house does need some shades on the windows facing west. Was hot when we arrived, there were fans. We live in house without air and I prefer it without. But, I think the shades would help. However, I would not rate this lower than a 5 because of that. Met my expectations. Thank you!
This was an amazing house with everything we needed. Centrally located to all the places we planned to visit. It was just nice to sit by the fire pit watching to world go by and the beautiful river. Will definitely visit again.
Great location to explore the central coast in Maine
The property is as advertised. Nice and clean and centrally located near the central coast in Maine. It was really nice seeing the bald eagles flying around the river in the AM. Camden/Rockland/Rockport are all easily accessible. Great place to enjoy life as it should be!
Was well stocked in kitchen for cooking and eating
It was hot-no air but pull down shades on front windows would have kept the house much cooler.
Being so hot kept us from cooking A small Gas grill would have nice
Close to all the shore spots for day trips! The yard is a perfect place to unwind at the end of the day! Breezes throughout the house and patio! Watch & listen to the sea birds over the river! House has everything you need! Such a charmer! Already rebooked!
Had a terrific time staying at this lovely cottage on the river. Had everything you could ask for and we never even missed TV. Spent the days exploring from Freeport up through Rockland, Camden, Belfast and even into Winterport. Enjoyed returning to this lovely spot to wind down for the day. The mornings here greeted us with eagles and ospreys right out the front window. We loved using the back patio, fire pit, and leaving the upstairs bedroom window open at night to listen to the river put us to sleep. Bed was nice and the new shower was a treat. All in all a great time and would definitely return. Sad we had to leave.
It was so serene and simply beautiful. 1800s cottage furnished just as I would have chosen. Immaculately renovated. No television😄, so very restful. Walk to cafe in village. Great ending to our holiday in Massachusetts and Maine!! Hope to go again next year.
This sweet perfectly appointed cottage is in a small town on a river. It was the perfect spot for excursions to Rockland and Camden. We did tons of hiking, exploring the pretty towns and relaxing and cooking at the house. It was a wonderful respite.
We loved our stay at this cottage across from the peaceful river. Everything was charming and filled with small touches to make the stay wonderful. We appreciated the comfortable beds, ample towels, and stocked panty and kitchen. Wifi connection was great. Very cozy and beautiful home. We'll be back!
