Great view close to the action.

My wife and I stayed here for 6 weeks. Overall, a pretty good stay but too long for us in this location. The property was as pictured. Views were indeed spectacular, and the swimming pool was a 30 second walk away. Shops, restaurants, and stores are relatively close. The main beach is less than 15 min walk, as is the very lively Old Town area. The host, Yves, was very friendly and responded quickly to our needs. The condo complex sits high above the Old Town area which is visible from the unit. Unfortunately, the high-energy nightlife below is easily heard until well into the AM hours. The listing says it's on the first floor, but that floor is down 4 flights of stairs from the street level with no lift due to the terraced condo design. The larger queen bed was hard and uncomfortable. Pillows and bedding were very poor quality. There was no option offered for general cleaning during our 6 week stay and no cleaning supplies were provided. After the first week or so, a terrible smell started coming from the bathroom primarily at night, making it difficult to sleep. After a few calls and visits from Yves, some shower-drain cleaning, and bleach down the drains every few days the smell never really went away, but we found a way to mitigate it. I assumed it was due to Portuguese plumbing, but neighbors said they don't have this issue.
