River's Reach is a cozy, rustic cabin right on the ELLIJAY RIVER. What better place to relax, maybe fish for trout of the deck, tube down the river, soak in the covered hot tub (no raindrops in your wine!) Roast s'mores over the waterside firepit, then later snuggle up and enjoy a movie by the woodburning fireplace. As one of Sliding Rock Cabins' romantic 1 bedroom properties River's Reach offers a perfect getaway for two. Woodburning fireplace, Propane grill, firepit, Wireless DSL, flatscreen TV's in living room and bedroom. PLEASE NOTE CANCELLATION POLICY BELOW.


This Sliding Rock Cabin is an ADULT ONLY cabin (no guests under age 25)

Pet friendly, both well behaved dogs and cats welcome.

We encourage you to protect your vacation investment with a travel insurance of your choice.

Access: Access to this cabin is via gravel, mountain roads. 4 wheel drive is not required, confidence in mountain driving is recommended.

CANCELLATION/RESCHEDULING/NO SHOW/EARLY DEPARTURE: Each cabin is privately owned and cancellations affect owners significantly. Cancellations, rescheduling, or changes must be submitted in writing and confirmed received by Sliding Rock Cabins® more than thirty-one (31) days prior to the original check-in date in order to receive refund, less a Sixty Five Dollar ($65) cancellation fee. Said changes regardless of reason made within thirty-one (31) days of your original check-in date will result in a forfeiture of all moneys paid. All moneys paid are non-transferable to another rescheduled date. Refunds will be given if Agent can re-book said dates with another guest limited to the extent of rebooking. Agents are not responsible for Guests inability to arrive or if Guests chooses to depart early for any reason, or if members of Guests party do not show up. No refunds, rebates, or compensation will be offered. WE STRONGLY SUGGEST PURCHASING VACATION RENTAL INSURANCE with your travel insurance of choice. We saw deer almost everyday! We were comfortable, but several items on the property, like the hot tub and living room furniture, are well-worn. The outside fire pit was in poor shape; plus, there was no swing nearby, like pictured. The rather long, non-paved road to get to the cabin was dicey at times. Some drivers might be uncomfortable navigating it, but we had no issues. I suspect those who want to venture out everyday, like for sight-seeing or meals, would not choose a place so deep in the woods. We were quite content at this cabin, and have no problem recommending it, but would likely pick a different cabin in the future.

We sat on the deck or the steps and listened to the river. The only thing that would make this cabin better would be to have the Wi-Fi password so that our cell phones would function. We did appreciate that there was a land line and gave the number to family for emergencies.

A few days at the river

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: First, the cabin was beautifully decorated and immaculately clean. It also had most everything we needed for cooking and grilling.However, the road getting to the cabin was outrageously horrible. Also the bed is so noisy that simply turning over wakes everyone in the room. Also, the furniture in the den is not comfortable. We enjoyed our few days there, but left a day early because there was no chance of sleeping in the noisy bed and leaving the cabin required driving down a road that is basically not safe to travel.

My husband and I enjoyed the river, the porch, cooking in the kitchen and sitting by the campfire in the evenings. Blue Ridge is a short drive away for shopping and good restaurants. The cabin is cozy and comfortable and we love staying here. I hope we can return soon.

Right on the water, with a moving creek so you get the sounds of gently bubbling steam while on the front porch rockers or in the hot tub. The folks at sliding rock cabins are easy to deal with. Easy to check in/out. Love it and will be back.

We had a great time and enjoyed the seclusion, but the location is very remote. It took about ten minutes to drive a few miles on precipitous gravel roads.

Peaceful and cozy

This rental is lovely. Its rustic vibe is very charming. It was very clean! The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed. Furniture was very comfortable. The gas grill is a very good quality one, worked great and fast for most of our meals. The fenced yard is always appreciated so the furry family members can enjoy freely and be safe. The front creek view, the creek sounds…. Is what we’ll miss the most. We were sad to leave but will definitely be staying with sliding rock properties again! Communication with host was very seamless. Thank you for such a lovely stay!

The cabin was overlooking the water and it took your breath away the first time you saw it. The road is curvy and winding but once you get up the mountain, you never want to return to the same old daily grind. We can't wait to return for another getaway. Please provide trash cans for our next stay as we had to take it home with us as none of the stations were open on Sunday when we checked out.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: Love to stay at River’s Reach. Location is perfect, hot tub is a plus and my senior dog loves the deck. We’ve stayed here several times and plan to return. The deck has been redone since our stay earlier in the year and was well done. Our only concern is the bed is very noisy with the slightest movement and couch needs replacing, sinks down when you sit on it. sliding Rock staff is friendly and helpful when needed and love the ease of dealing with them. We will be back. Love the cabin.
