We enjoyed our stay and we were meeting with other family at another location also. We just wish we had more time at the cabin in resort. We are looking forward to going back sometime and doing this again.
Perfect lake cabin for our family. We could have spent all of our time on the lake and around the lodge area and next time we will. The owner is easy to communicate with and available quickly if there are any needs.
We stayed at the Hillside cabin. It had enough beds for 3 generation of guests and it was a bit away from the other cabins, which we appreciated. We were concerned about the heat since it’s been a very hot summer and there was no A/C at the cabin. Marilyn went out of her way providing 3 fans for us. It turned out the weather was cool all week (sometimes in the low 50s at night) so we just opened the windows and didn’t need the fans at all. The boat and kayaks were fun to use at our leisure at the lake. Board games were enjoyed by kids and adults alike. Overall, a great stay!
My friends and I enjoyed an amazing weekend at the Hilltop Lodge. It had all of our basic needs for spending time on the lake, and we loved having so many kayaks and boats to use! Marilyn was very kind and responsive, and we loved petting her adorable pups. We will definitely consider coming back for our next annual cabin trip!
Delta Lodge was the perfect place for our family reunion. We had 20 people in four cabins ranging in age from 6 through 88. Everyone without exception had a great time. Swimming and kayaking in the lovely small lake couldn't have been more fun for all. My husband, son, and I all caught bass in both the small lake and the larger one across the road. I especially loved going to sleep in the evenings with the sounds of the loons calling.
A treat that I'm not sure always happens - the owners hosted everyone in the compound for a bbq on Monday night, so we got to meet our neighbors from all over the Midwest. Everyone we met there was a return visitor...some people talked about coming since they were children. I can certainly understand why.
great hosts and delightful location for family vacation
We had a wonderful week at Hillside and also on another cabin in the area, Cabin 7. Everything was clean, well stocked, and the beds were really comfortable and got high praise from everyone. It was great to be in the woods, enjoying quiet and privacy and a view of the lake. Marilyn and her team were terrific from helping us plan our stay by discussing the area and Hillside to sending us those annoying left-behind-items. She is a wonder - lots of insights and information and joy in sharing this wonderful place. It was a bonus to have it be pet friendly and a vacation for the family dogs!
We just got home from a week at Delta Lodge! There was almost 40 members of my family there! We all had an amazing time together! The lodge itself is so pretty! That Lake is full of fish! And the owners are wonderful! My husband and I were in cabin#9 AKA The Animal House! It was perfect! Very old and had lots of character! We loved that it was up a hill but we could see the lake from our porch! It had a large fire pit so it was the go to place to gather at the end of the day! There is so much to do in a 50 mile radius! Kayaking, hiking, ATV trails, Lake Superior, Fairy cruises out to the Apostle Islands or you can stay right there and fish, swim or relax! My family highly recommends The Delta Lodge!

About the host
Hosted by Marilyn Einspanier
Marilyn and Andy Einspanier have owned/managed Delta Lodge since 1990. During our ownership we have updated the grounds and cabins and built new cabins (#11, #12 and Hillside) in the tradition of Wes and Ike Rhinehart (original owners). We enjoy vacationers and their four-legged family members. We offer our knowledge of the area: hiking trails, mountain bike trails, fishing maps. Advice about touring the area including the Apostle Islands/Bayfield, waterfalls, antique/art/craft shops, wineries and restaurants.
We welcome you to Delta Lodge.
Why they chose this property
We looked at hotels and motels in Colorado and Montana initially, in the mid 1980s.
We came back the midwest with a reality check - the midwest values were much more within our budget. A realtor started sending us resort listings along with hotel/motel listings and a piece fell into the puzzle.
We toured over 40 properties in 4 years, on vacation, while we were employed as a salesman for test electronics (eddy current testing) and as a statistician for Illinois Bell (Ameritech). We eventually narrowed the possibilities to a few properties - Delta Lodge being among them.
Further pieces of the puzzle fell into place and here we are, almost 30 years later.
What makes this property unique
Lake Everett....
While almost everyone - owners/realtors - told us while we were touring properties that we needed to be on "big water." I am very happy that we ended up on a small lake (35 acres). This pristine glacier lake in the heart of Chequamegon National Forest is a unique treasure that has fostered human and animal life for thousands and thousands of years. (Artifacts prove that the ancients populated the area.)
This special lake and the forest and cabins have brought peace and family togetherness to many people who have visited us year after year. I feel thankful to be part of the process.
