Comfort Handicap Friendly Sandy beach!!

This house exceeds the listing’s description. It’s truly a gem. The owners have thoughtfully accessorized the house inside and out. Wonderful lake kayaks, paddles, towels, yard toys and games are provided for guest use. We loved the outside space, nature all around. We saw dozens of turtles, fish, snakes and lizards. The back porch was a favorite for my family, we ate almost all meals there. The sandy beach was ideal for the kids and the handicap friendly bathroom was perfect for my senior parents. The yard is large, perfect for yard games. If you have kids, or have handicap needs, this is the house. We will be back!

Beautiful and Relaxing

We were looking for a quiet place to spend Thanksgiving with our family. Pam and Tom are kind and obviously care for their property and guests. The sunsets were breathtaking and it was nice to unplug and spend time with family. My kids and nieces (all teenagers) have been asking to go back again. Even in the cold the cozy fireplace made us feel warm.

Dream Lakefront

We cannot say enough good things about Sunset Point! The Kings are incredibly friendly hosts, who do everything required to make guests feel comfortable. The property provides everything that family, friends, and dogs could possibly need to enjoy Lake Gaston. The privacy of the peninsula is unmatched! Thank you again and we will see you again soon :)

Excellent long weekend

My family and extended family had and awesome long weekend at the property. The Hosts are very nice and easy to communicate with. The house and the property are as advertised and more. The house is very spacious, very clean, well kept, and has a lot to offer. We not only enjoyed our boating activity, but the swimming and kayak area near the dock. We enjoyed sitting out on the covered porch in the evening and the converted garage game room. It was to warm for the firepit, but hope to enjoy that on future stays as well. We will most certainly look to return to this wonderful property in the future!

This home is well maintained with many amenities. We loved relaxing and eating on the back porch. We enjoyed the beach area, the 4 kayaks and the 2 paddle boards. We also enjoyed playing ping pong in the large, air-conditioned garage. We will be back!

Sunset Pointe is a beauty!

Sunset Pointe is a perfect place to let children just run and for seniors to just sit and enjoy the view! Tom and Pam are the perfect hosts, so handy yet unobtrusive. They have thought of everything, from every kitchen appliance, small and large and plenty of utensils to the leaf blower that was really needed at the start of pollen season! We appreciated that! We hiked trails on their property and at Buck Spring Park, fished and had campfires. The sleeping arrangements were perfect for our family of 7 adults and 5 young children who really enjoyed the bunk room and all of the toys! Internet service was great and plenty of seating in both living room and dining room. My favorite spot was the back porch with comfy seating, grill and big table! My family typically does a Spring Break trip, but we have already decided next year to push it until summer so we can utilize all of the water sport equipment that is provided. Thank you again, Pam and Tom, for sharing this home with us!!

Family Thanksgiving

Sunset Point was everything and more than the website listed. We loved the house, the property was gorgeous with beautiful sunsets! Pam and Tom were available with anything that was needed during our stay. Our goal for Thanksgiving was to enjoy our family and relax, and both of these goals were met! It was a great place to spend our Thanksgiving holiday ♥️🦃

Historic property with all the amenities and wheelchair accessibility

We had a relaxing stay with our two girls and an added friend. Our younger daughter loved all the toys and games in her room (we could have fit 3 more kids in there with her!). She had something new to play with each day! Our older daughter is a paraplegic and uses a manual wheelchair, so I feel it's important to mention that the entire house is completely wheelchair accessible and the property has many accessible features as well. She was even able to kayak and fully enjoy the lake. The owners Pam and Tom were very helpful and they clearly put a lot of thought and work into the amenities. We hope to have a chance to come again!

Great lakehouse

Great property with a family friendly house. Lots of land to play around with and a nice area to enjoy. The house is comfortable with a game room for the kids too. The peninsula is really nice with a little beach and kayaks to enjoy on a quiet cove.

We had a great time swimming, kayaking and canoeing right from the property. There was plenty of indoor recreation as well and the one floor plan was great for my parents. The hosts were lovely and made us feel at home. Highly recommend.

Unforgettable Waterfront Stay: Rehearsal Dinner Magic

Embarking on a four-night waterfront retreat was made even more special by hosting our son's wedding rehearsal dinner at this enchanting location. Pam's exceptional communication set a welcoming tone from the start, accommodating our needs with grace. Impeccable cleanliness and meticulous attention to detail made the home a comfortable haven. The picturesque waterfront views added a touch of magic, with water activities at our fingertips. Local amenities were conveniently close, enhancing the overall experience. Hosting our son's rehearsal dinner amidst these surroundings created intimate, lasting memories. Pam's warm hospitality shone through with a thoughtful arrival gift, making us feel at home. In essence, these four nights encompassed remarkable memories: from Pam's care to a memorable rehearsal dinner. For a blend of relaxation, adventure, and special moments, this gem comes highly recommended.

Family Birthday Trip

Very nice property with plenty of space (even bigger than pictures give it credit for). Hosts were excellent and had great communication throughout the whole booking and arrival/departure process. We rented a boat and also really enjoyed exploring Lake Gaston. Thoughtful amenities were provided like noodles for the kids, kids games/toys, spacious garage play space, pack n play and high chair. We even left a very special football behind (thought it was “lost”) and the host found it and graciously offered to mail it to us. Thanks for a great getaway!

Great location, wonderful hosts, highly recommend

The property is lovely, like we had out own little private island. The cove where the property is located is very peaceful and quiet. There was plenty of space to spread out on the property with me, my hubs, 3 (large!) young adults, and their grandparents. There was plenty to do with Kayaks, paddle boards, ping pong, cornhole. We took advantage of it all! Our hosts were very responsive, friendly and accommodating. Pam brought us fresh eggs from their farm which were delicious, dropped off bug spray, and a bottle of rubbing alcohol when I said I needed it to treat an injury on one of my kids. The covered porch was lovely, nestled under some trees which provided some shade all day. We spent mornings drinking coffee and playing games, and some naps too :-). The inside of the house does not have a lot of natural light but there were plenty of lamps to help with that. The bedrooms were a nice size, comfortable mattresses and there were soaps and shampoos for our use. We used the flat space in front of the house to play volleyball, but could also be used for spike ball(we played that out back too), or numerous other yard games. The kitchen was well appointed which I appreciated as we ate all our meals at the house. We would absolutely stay at this property again and I highly recommend you do the same.

Didn't want to leave...

Stayed over Memorial weekend. It was cold, rainy, crummy weather and it DID NOT MATTER. First of all, Pam and Tom reached out to us just prior to the weekend feeling horrible seeing the forecast and offering several suggestions to try to make up for the weather that was out of their control. I have used VRBOs for decades and NEVER has this mattered to an owner. So that meant so much to me. The home itself was just wonderful! The land is expansive. The view is incredible. Even though the weather was crummy, our 5 teenage boys were still outside playing in the water, using the kayaks and paddle boards. When inside, we had some mean ping pong tournaments. Tons of space outside for cornhole and about anything and everything you'd ever want to do! Ponies around the corner to love on. A wonderful game table in the living room that has many games in one and an enormous TV for everyone whose not playing. The bedrooms are laid out perfect for families with lots of kids. Tons of space for everyone to have big meals. Pam and Tom - I cannot say enough about how accommodating they are. I could go on and on. I cannot wait to go back and did not want to leave. OH and the back porch!!! WOW! Something you won't lack in the property is space - it's everywhere! 5 starts x 10!
