We had a wonderful time relaxing at Aska Sunrise! The cabin is close to town and still very secluded. We spent most of our time on the screened in porch or watching the views from the top deck. We loved our time here and hope to come back soon!
We had a wonderful stay in Aska Sunrise. The mountain view was perfect and the screened in porch was a plus. Our check in process was a bit confusing because email instructions listed two different addresses. We also had a few minor maintenance requests, but property management responded promptly. We really enjoyed exploring all the waterfalls, towns and sights nearby.
Nice area, close to town, but quiet. Property needs some attention, especially with main level porch in need of new screen wire and better housekeeping on the porch. Also water pressure is really low. Taking a shower was difficult.
The location was absolutely perfect, close to everything while also being secluded from neighbors. I do think the cabin could use some updates. The water smelled bad the whole time we were there, not sure if there was a problem with the septic tank or what but we avoided showering because of the smell. The toilets had issues as well. The fireplace did not work after having maintenance come out so that was a bummer too. The views were amazing though and using the hot tub was very relaxing.
We had a lovely, comfortable stay. The house is on a quite street very close to downtown Blue Ridge but removed enough to feel like you’re in the woods while at the house. Full kitchen with everything we needed to make dinner. Loved the fire pit and back porch. Had some difficulty reaching property management about an incorrect pet fee I was charged but once I did they were helpful (you cannot message through the app and after hours number is hard to find). Outdoor trash cans were already full when we arrived which was worrisome because it says you will be charged if trash is left outside trash cans. We made it work but not without a bit of grief.

Great Cabin for the Price
Generally everything was as expected. I try to keep in mind, the rating system doesn't have categories based on price, and this a great cabin for the price (hence the 4 star rating)
There are a few things that would have been nice to know in advance.
1) The driveway is shared with an RV parking lot. That said, there are only 3 of them, one being the prior owner of the house, and they are all very nice and respectful of your space.
2) There is wifi, technically. If you need an actual connection you have to be very patient. If your goal is to disconnect from the world, be out and about, and maybe watch a little TV, it is perfect for that.
3) The bedrooms are stacked above each other on three levels. The basement room is private, but you can here everything between the rooms on the main floor and upstairs. Again, depending on your situation that could be a positive or negative aspect.
