Mountain Creek Retreat - 5 minutes from Downtown Murphy - Secluded

Stay in the Nantahala national forest as our cabin is a 5-star experience secluded with your own 2-acre park/campground where you can relax at a creekside picnic table or at the firepit. Peaceful with no nearby neighbors. As you sit on the front porch you will see deer, turkey, and all of the local wildlife. All of this privacy and only 5 minutes from downtown Murphy as well as the Harrah's Casino. You will have a paved circular driveway that will allow you to pull up to the front door and for motorcycles a garage to park in. The property is fully fenced if you are bringing your pet. We provide firewood for the fire pit.

Our cabin offers all of the modern conveniences (High-Speed Internet, Direct TV, and an outdoor grill) as well as a wood-burning fireplace in the main area. Our front outdoor porch is the perfect place for a barbeque and our outdoor deck offers prime wildlife viewing, a morning cup of coffee and a good book, or an evening glass of wine. Our full kitchen includes all modern appliances and fully stocked with everything needed for preparing meals. We have a queen master bedroom with an attached bathroom, a loft bedroom with two twins and a private bathroom, and a sleeper sofa in the living room.

Our guests all say we have a "GEM" and they will be back!

Review of Mountain Creek Retreat Cabin

This cabin was clean, well decorated and had all appliances, cooking utensils, plates and silverware necessary for a family on holiday. The owners were extremely friendly and helpful. Would recommend this property to others as we intend to rent there in the future. Also, they are very pet friendly!

Great pet amenities

The cabin was cozy and the amenities for humans are great and the pet amenities are just as great! We loved having a fenced in yard for our doggy to play in the leaves as well as buckets of dog toys and tennis balls to play fetch with! We will definitely be returning!

Tranquility in the woods

Very nice setting for peace and quiet Eric and Zoe were so very accommodating Our corgi loved the fenced yard and The little stream that runs through it.

Great Cabin

I was especially happy with his cabin because the yard was big and fully fenced so that my two large dogs could enjoy the outside without me worrying about them running off. The kitchen was as advertised and just for preparing meals. The balcony off the back and the patio on the front great places to sit and enjoy nature. It’s located close to horseback riding the North Carolina mountain bicycle event, and Whitewater rafting..

Perfection

The cabin was exactly as described online. It was easy to locate in the woods. We loved that the entire property was fenced so our small dogs could run and play. The inside of the cabin was immaculate and had every amenity that we needed. Eric and Zoe are easy to contact and quick to respond. My only regret is that we couldn’t live there forever.

We had a lovely stay!

Zoe & Eric have made this cabin a home away from home! The cabin is thoughtfully equipped and nicely decorated! Our pups loved running around and we were comfortable with that since the property is all fenced in. Secluded and private yet so close to town. We had a lovely time!

Wedding weekend

Great place. All of the amenities from home. Nice touch by owner leaving fresh farm eggs and a bottle of wine. The fenced in yard was great for our border collie to run. We got to see a black bear and several deer. Will definitely rent again. No one in my party wanted to leave such a relaxing place especially all of the great views.

Mountain Crest

We had a fabulous time at the cabin. Great place to stay. Our dog had a great time barking and watching all the wildlife. Best time sitting on the back patio area watching nature. Say deer, a turkey or two. Eric and Zoe were great host. Loved the fresh eggs and wine on our first night. We plan on returning back to the cabin when make our next trip that way.

Perfection!

If you are searching for somewhere to stay and can’t decide, stay here!!! It’s perfect. I wanted to live here. Perfect for pets due to the fenced in yard. Our dog had the BEST time. The hosts are fantastic- gave us fresh eggs and wine! So thoughtful. Very clean cabin and cozy. We loved our stay and visit to Murphy!

Wonderful, cozy cabin

We had the best time in Zoe and Eric’s cabin! Super clean, well stocked with all the amenities! Close to downtown but tucked into the woods so very, very quiet. Beautifully decorated for Christmas. You can tell they put a lot of care and thought into their cabin. Thank you for everything!

Peaceful cabin in the woods

We wanted to checkout Murphy and found this peace of heaven traveling with our dogs. We loved it was minutes from restaurants, breweries and shopping. We are avid hikers and loved local towns and hikes were close by. We are looking forward to staying again. Thank you for your hospitality again.

The house was absolutely lovely. Eric & Zoe provided everything that you would need & want & went above & beyond with lovely flowers, wine, tomatoes & even treats for us & the dog, Fiona. Peaceful cabin getaway!

We had such a peaceful stay! The cabin was perfect with all wood finish & cabin decor you hope for with a cabin getaway in the mountains. (We also loved the cute Bigfoot decor. It was actually what first caught my eye when we were looking for a cabin.) The cabin was clean and well stocked with everything you need. I love that the hosts, Eric and Zoe, live close by if you need them, but far enough that you can’t even see their home because of all the trees. You can’t see any other homes from the cabin either, so you feel completely secluded in the forest! However it’s close to town to go out to eat or site see surrounding areas. We didn’t even need to contact the hosts because we had no issues at all during our stay. They give you complete privacy and only messaged us once to let us know they are close if we have any issues. We enjoyed our family getaway! Also, we are a family of four, so having two full bathrooms is a plus, many cabins I looked at in my search only had one bathroom. We definitely hope to stay at this cabin again!

Exit mud season

We have been traveling to Murphy for 10 years. Love the early spring and great motorcycling. This year was no exception. The only downside to this rental was the steep driveway. It was a little difficult with our trailer which is wider than the car. It was in no way a deterrent just need a little extra caution and the semicircular driveway was a help. We enjoyed Eric, didn't get to meet Zoe yet, but we will return.

Wonderful Surprise Mountain Retreat

Zoe & Eric were wonderful hosts. Their cabin is well presented in the photos. The kitchen is well stocked and they even greet you with a nice bottle of wine waiting on the table. Weather was quite cold so didn't get to do everything I planned on, but I did enjoy the waterfall byway drive! The cover on the bed kept me toasty and warm. There is a fireplace which was enjoyable as well. I was able to let my fur-buddy out with no worries and he enjoyed himself as well. Highly recommend this Mountain Retreat.

Murphy- Home away from Home

Another great trip to Murphy! Eric and Zoe are amazing hosts! I hesitate to rate their place too highly because I want to save it all for myself! The truth is, This 'cabin' and owners are awesome.. every detail seems to have been thought of and perfected.. Can't wait to go again!

We really enjoyed our stay at Bear Creek Retreat. The house was so cozy and the property is absolutely beautiful! The house was very clean and very welcoming. There was no detail that was overlooked. The personal touches like the wine and the music playing upon our arrival were very much appreciated.

They live with their 5 dogs and 6 chickens, 7 motorcycles, enjoy gardening and hosting guests..

In 2019 they purchased this property with the desire to operate a vacation cabin that provides an exceptional experience for their guests and where they can share their love for the mountains. We are less than 5 minutes from town, yet very secluded in the mountains!
