Located in historic Gonzales, Texas the cabin sits on 100 acres and its the perfect getaway for families and friends looking to experience relaxed country living. We are 1 mile from Palmetto State Park , so you can enjoy a more active vacation to include tubing, paddle boarding and canoeing or you can take in Texas history by visiting downtown museums. Another option, just relax and enjoy the picturesque views of pasture, rolling hills and wooded areas that deer and other wildlife call their home. We have a full kitchen, outdoor grill and patio area if you choose to cook during your stay. Not in the mood to cook? Luling, Texas is a 10 minute drive and home of the famous City Market BBQ. Regardless of your dining choices, you must enjoy morning coffee on the front porch and experience a Texas country sunset at the cabin. You may spot the deer and turkey that roam the property, but you will most certainly meet our cows and calfs. The cabin has a fenced in yard so it is both child and pet friendly (there is an additional $75per pet fee). There is a pond on the property as well. The cabin's upper deck is the perfect spot to enjoy an evening glass of wine and star gaze in the unending Texas sky. Please note, this is a working ranch where we bale hay several times a year. During those times we must move the cows over to the neighboring pasture. If you have questions regarding the timing, please message the owner for details. Also: There is no TV in the cabin but we do have wifi. If you would like to watch TV, you would need to bring a streaming device.

The property is really remote, but that is the best part. It is only 11 miles from 3 towns. We did a driving tour in Gonzales, and visited some of the museums. There is alot to do, or nothing to do if you prefer. My son saw some deer and a bird in flight, caught a grasshopper, but I missed it. There is plenty of land to walk around and explore. It is also really close to Palmetto Park with a number of trails. We would definitely stay here again.
We had such a quiet and peaceful stay. We needed to decompress and enjoy nature and their sounds you can’t hear in the middle of town. The drive was quick from the nearest town. Not a lot of frills but that is not what we seek. We would rather clean and safe. We definitely found it!!
My husband and I and our two small dogs had a peaceful 4th without the terror of extreme fireworks in this comfortable country cabin. It has a great yard for the dogs that allows everyone to sit on the porches and enjoy nature. Of course the heat in the summer must be dealt with. Palmetto State Park is just down the road and a great place to hike with the fur-babies. It is in a great location for Texas style fun and eating out.
The home is lovely and set back from the road. The high ceilings in the kitchen and dining which open to the living room were very nice. Our host Jennifer was very gracious.
We could not have asked for anything more accomodating.
It was one of those places you won't forget - private & beautiful!! We will be back! Jennifer made it so easy for it all (& quick to respond to messages)!!
Thanks for a wonderful stay!!
P.S. I enjoyed sitting on the front porch large rocker with my husband, the cool wind was blowing - very memorable!
The property was nice, quiet and relaxing. My crew and I were in town for work and it was nice to be able to cook a good meal and relax after long days. If I’m ever in the area working again I would definitely stay here again
I truly enjoyed our week vacation. We were able to visit with family. The house was welcoming and the house’s location was perfect for unwinding from life’s demands. My husband and I
We stayed here the latter part of March 2024 and it was absolutely perfect! Beds were extra comfortable, they had all the things you need. Alot of thought went into this place, cows roam free and are adorable! My son played Enya for the cows and we had quite the audience! Super quiet and private. Pond on land extra cool with a little deck to watch cows dip in the water! You will not be disappointed with this home as a getaway! We will definitely be back! Thanks to host! Super quick responding and super helpful!! 🙂
If you need a relaxing getaway, this is the place! Cozy, serene, clean, and quiet, you'll recharge your batteries in no time. The house is equipped with basic necessities (towels, soap, pots/pans, gas grill, etc.), minimizing the amount you need to bring on your vacation. The home is easy to reach but still feels so far from any neighbors, really letting you get away from it all. Still, you'll have Internet if needed, and a small TV for DVDs. We prefer to totally disconnect and sit on the lovely porch, watching the cows and other wildlife. We can't recommend this place enough!
This was our 3rd time staying at the cabin and we love it! It’s so quiet & peaceful—we don’t mind the cows—which is just what we wanted. We love the amenities in the kitchen, the upstairs deck and the comfy bed. Our dogs absolutely love the fenced in yard, they wear themselves out! :)
The cabin also super close to town for a grocery run or a run to Buc-ee’s which is also pretty close.
Thank you to Jennifer for always being a great and communicative host!
We look forward to our next visit!
Property manager was great, place smelled and looked good when we arrived and they had everything you would need. It was cool to see the cows near the cabin. Great location next to a state park 2 minutes away (however be prepared for lack of food and stores nearby but we didn’t mind since we brought everything we needed). You must go on the back balcony for sunrise and sunset, absolutely beautiful.
We stay at a lot of properties and very rarely return to the same locations. However, this was our second stay at the Country Cabin getaway and it was as fantastic as the first time. The setting is incredibly relaxing-- peaceful fields and grazing cattle-- and our dogs loved running around the property. We will return...again!
Just far enough from a major city that the nights are amazingly quiet. If the cloud cover had cooperated we would have done some stargazing. We enjoyed the proximity of two state parks and did a bit of hiking.
The dogs enjoyed the cattle and were on alert with the sounds of coyotes.
Would stay again in a heartbeat.
This was exactly what we were looking for! My husband and I had a quiet, relaxing getaway with with our dogs. We watched movies, hiked the property with our dogs, and I did some scrapbooking. The property is private and set well back from the road. We are hoping to return when the weather cools off and we can take full advantage of the lovely outdoor spaces. We did bring our own TV for movies as there is no TV downstairs. We're so glad to have the opportunity to rent this space!
Nice get away to relax with wife and pets. Only neighbors you see are the wildlife. Well stocked kitchen utensils. Sat on upper deck at sunrise and sunset. Fenced yard for our dogs. Highly recommend this quiet property.
We absolutely loved this stay. Great location-- easy to get to from Houston, Austin, or San Antonio. The cabin itself is set back on acres of property, allowing the privacy you need in order to properly relax. We had a great time walking around the fields and sitting on the front porch. Great communication from Jennifer leading up to and during our stay. The cabin was tidy, clean, and homey-- it is clear it is special to the owners! We already booked another weekend. Thank you!
Me, my mom and my Maltipoo were in town for the Texas Junior High Rodeo state finals in Gonzales. This house was about a 15 minute drive from the arena. It was the perfect place for our stay. The house was neat and clean and decorated nicely. The bed in the master bedroom was very comfortable.
We enjoyed the peace and quiet and sitting on the porch drinking our coffee each morning. The fenced in yard worked out great for my little dog.
The house was fully stocked with everything we needed.
Our host Jennifer was great. She answered any questions I had in a timely manner and let us know if her husband would be on the property working (mowing, etc).
We enjoyed our stay very much and would like to stay there next year if my niece makes the 2024 state finals.
We had a great weekend stay at this country farm house. The setting is beautiful ... with rolling hills and cows on the property. The house is nicely set back from the main road. There are two bedrooms, one with a king bed and the other with deconstructed bunk beds (good to keep in mind if you are traveling with all adults). There were lovely porches at the front and back of the house to watch both sunrise and sunset.
We enjoyed the beauty and peacefulness of this property. It was just as it was represented. Jennifer was easy to communicate with and we would stay here again. Thanks for making this available!!
