About this property
Purple People Eater of Uptown--2bd/1bth, family friendly, near universities
2bed/1bath apartment in the heart of Uptown!
THE BEST location. Easy walking distance to fabulous restaurants, great shopping (including groceries), libraries and playgrounds for kids. You'd be less than a block from a #11 bus stop and 6 blocks from the streetcar, close to universities. You really don't even need a car. If you're here during Mardi Gras, you'll be so spoiled by the location you won't want to leave.
It's an especially great apartment for families and if you need additional kids gear, we will likely be able to help provide that for your use as well.
Renovated in 2023, the living room, dining room and kitchen showcase all original windows, fireplaces and high ceilings--great New Orleans character in a cute, clean unit. The converted shotgun has two independent bedrooms. The smaller bedroom is furnished with a queen size bed and closet. The larger bedroom is currently set up with twin bunk beds and a convertible crib. The bunk beds can be separated and the crib can transition to 2 levels of standard crib and a toddler bed. While it looks set for children, it has been very comfortable for older kids and adults staying as well. There is also a dresser and large closet. Living room is equipped with a smart TV.
Gas stove/oven, refrigerator/freezer, and dishwasher as well as some minor appliances (microwave, coffee maker, toaster, food processor) are in the unit, as well as a washer and dryer.
You'll have the entire unit and private backyard to yourselves. The front yard and porch is a shared space, but with private entrances.
When we moved here in 2015, this is exactly what we hoped to find: a mid-term furnished rental, that was kid friendly, in a cool area so we could figure out where to buy our house (without having to unpack everything we owned first!). We hope it fits your needs, whether you're working on moving to the city, or working (or playing!) in the city temporarily.
Great for everyone:
• FAMILIES: Crib, stroller, other clean kiddo necessities included (if required)!
• PROFESSORS, ALUMS and VISITORS: Near universities, clean and tastefully furnished.
• MOVING TO THE CITY: Seriously close to everything in Uptown. Friendly neighbors and locals. A great spot to get to know the city.
• Locals renovating or tenting: Recently renovated and termite free! Easy to get to highway, CBD and elsewhere.
• Travel nurses or doctors: Within 5 minutes from Children's Hospital, Oschner Baptist, and Touro Hospital and less than 15 minutes to the Oschner main campus.
The pricing will decrease with extended stays. Please let us know if you'd like to stay for 3+ months, or 6+ months!
Non-smoking/vaping and drug-free, please.

What makes this property unique
It's purple! And orange, and blue and yellow. You'd think it wouldn't work, but it's so fun. You'll always be able to find your way home. And you'll be out, easily taking advantage of everything New Orleans has to offer, but happy to come back to this comfortable home.
