Beautiful spot

We had an amazing 5 night stay. We were so thankful for the beach chairs, floats, beach umbrella and cooler. Nice rural location. The nightly rate was fair for what we got.

Great experience!

Perfect location with everything you need for a beach holiday that is peaceful and very private. The staff were a phone call away and very prompt when needed. This is our second stay and would recommend it for couples. The studio floor plan suited us and the views were lovely. Thanks for a great vacation!

Just about perfect!

The Bungalow is a sweet little place with a beautiful view and close proximity to the ocean. It is beautifully redone. The kitchen is exceptionally well outfitted and the bed and furniture are very comfortable. Linens are high quality with extra towels should they be needed. Overall we loved staying there! We have come to the island for many years and would love to return to this property.

Wonderful stay

We loved our stay! The house is cozy, clean, and comfortable. The beach and water across from the house is incredible. The location is great for exploring other parts of Central Eleuthera. For anyone curious, we got 3G internet at the house which was enough for the occasional Zoom call. A car is absolutely a necessity. Management was easy to reach. We would stay again!

Very nice property

Expectations are everything. This is a wonderful property. Come to the out-islands understanding they are out-islands, not all inclusive, self contained resorts and you will find this to be an excellent and meaningful experience. The property and its management were excellent.

Peaceful

This studio was a joy to stay in. It was very quiet and we had the beach to ourselves for our early June vacation. It’s about 20 minutes to the grocery stores and an hour from the airport. Super awesome for a relaxing vacation. It’s a good location for having reasonable access to the north and south side of the island. The bugs were pretty bad at times so get bug spray. If the wind was around it was fine. If there was no wind we went to the Caribbean side (windy side) to avoid bugs.

Great Bungalow, but …

The bungalow was great. The narrow unpaved road leading up to it was dangerous. Large construction trucks travel that road and only one vehicle at a time can be on the road. The noise from construction of the house next door (7 days a week) was tough to listen to. It did break up the laid back Island atmosphere. The beach was great and the property manager was attentive.

Lovely and Quaint Bungalow

What a wonderful stay we had at the Island Breeze Bungalow. The Bungalow has everything that you need for a relaxing stay. It was so wonderful overlooking the beach in the Adirondack chairs. We watched a lot of sea life when the tide was out and the sun shinning on the beautiful turquoise clear waters of Eleuthera. We saw a small shark, stingrays, parrot fish and other fish as well. What an amazing location. We were able to walk the beach several times and enjoys the beautiful winds and fresh air. We were on lockdown most of our time there but whenever we did go out to get groceries and gas everyone was still as nice and charming as always. We had to stay longer than planned due to cancellation of flights. Amy(property manager) was so accommodating with extending our reservation and letting us use the washer and dryer. We will be back for sure. Cheers! Everyone be safe.

Personal retreat

I needed a place to stay for a personal retreat after a difficult year. I spent a month here and it served my purpose well. Beautiful location. Long walks on a mostly empty beach. Excellent fresh produce and bread and more at the Eleuthera Island Farm, just 10 minutes away. While I didn't intend to watch TV, the bungalow has Netflix and other such platforms that you can use if you're already a subscriber, which was nice to have at times. I had to do a bit of work so was not prepared for the electricity outages during the first week of my stay and would have appreciated information about what to expect, such as where to go for coffee or wifi while it was out. Next time I'll look for a place with a generator. It would have been helpful to know that there are no staples in the bungalow or keeping some for the next guests. I'm used to shopping before I go to a new place and the place having at least salt, pepper, sugar, condiments, maybe oil--and sometimes much more. So I shopped at the end of a long day of travel, only to discover there were no staples. As with many island places, there is a bit of a mold odor that goes away when you open the windows and have fans on but it could be a problem for people who have strong reactions to mold. Would I stay there again? Yes. It was a cozy retreat with good privacy and a beautiful view, including from the platform overlooking the beach across the sandy road in the front of the house.

Beautiful views, wonderful beach!

I am giving 5 stars for what this is. Meaning, not a 5-star hotel, but it is 5 stars for what we wanted-a clean, nice place with oceanfront views that can't be beat! There are snorkels and comfy beach chairs. We had coffee on the front porch every day. When the road turns to sand (unpaved) it can be a bit rutty and branches scratched our rental until we learned how to avoid them :-). (I recommend an SUV, which we ordered, but our rental car company had to switch at the last minute to a sedan). In terms of supplies, there is soap, shampoo, dish soap, salt and pepper, and cinnamon. If you want any other spices, bring them or purchase them. Also stocked with paper towel, toilet paper, zip-lock bags plastic wrap, and coffee filters, which was great. I recommend packing snacks like crackers and nuts for any of the out islands, as well as small jars of peanut butter, mustard and mayo, and coffee, because that stuff is expensive here. That's what we did. We've been to Exuma and learned our lesson. I recommend some good insect spray for the mosquitos and no-see-ums. But, all in all those only were out in the morning and evening. Also, you will need to buy drinking water in a jug or bottle in town, but everyone in the grocery store seemed to be doing that, so it's not just this bungalow. One minor thing- I emailed the property manager on our second day there that the hair dryer was broken and did not work when I turned it on, and it was not replaced so I had to wind-dry my hair the entire time or wear a hat. Oh, well, nobody knew me, and maybe the people who stayed there before us never told them. I did not want to leave this lovely spot!

Amazing getaway

this is the second time back at the Bungalow and we loved it just as much this time. It was just like we remembered. The views are incredible and the quiet beach is just what we needed. the owner and property manager were both fantastic and easy to communicate with and reach and very accommodating after a weather related missed flight! Mixed reviews lovely view bungalow in need of upgrading friendly island for the most part.

Stanton Cooper rentals recommended by Home Away could not give us directions to Island Breeze and we could not find the property. Despite giving property manager arrival time, We were not expected and had trouble entering the property. Average to poor accommodations. We were overwhelmed by no see ums The island is interesting but sites and beaches poorly marked. Most ATMs way too expensive. We would do things differently if we went back, such as bring lots of cash and make sure we know how to find and get into property, andvresearch car rentals ourselves. We had issues with Stanton Cooper car rentals despite being recommended by Home Away.

Loved Island Breeze!!!

My girlfriend and I loved the Bungalow at Island Breeze!!! We stayed the week of January 19-26, 2019 and enjoyed every minute of our stay!!! The house is quite secluded and semi-remote. We only saw a handful of people all week on the beach in front of the house. The house itself is perfect for 2 people. We had plenty of hot water, WiFi worked great, the AC was strong and we were able to watch the morning news while enjoying our coffee on the front porch. We wish we were still there and look forward to our next stay at the Island Breeze!!! #itsbetterinthebahamas

Fantastic Vacation at The Bungalow at Island Breeze

We spent a wonderful 6 days at The Bungalow at Island Breeze. Upon check-in, we found the house to be spotless and adorable! The location is very private but still close to restaurants in Governor's Harbour (about 10-15 minutes). Everything we needed was provided by the owners - cooler, beach chairs and umbrellas, raft, snorkling gear, beach towels and plenty of bath towels. The kitchen was well equipped too. We enjoyed sitting in the beachfront adirondack chairs for reading and also enjoyed afternoons lounging on the reclining chairs on the deck overlooking the ocean (right next to the steps down to the water). The only recommendation we have is to provide a water cooler with a 5-gallon tank. We were caught off guard because we arrived late on a Sunday and stores were closed. It was a very low-key and relaxing vacation which was exactly what we wanted! We highly recommend this bungalow!

Paradise!

This was our second visit to Eleuthera and Island Breeze Bungalow. My husband and I stayed 7 nights and were not disappointed! Everything was just as lovely and beautiful as last time. The beach was bare! We were the only two people on the beach the entire week! The bungalow is equipped with two beach chairs, umbrella, towels and a cooler. I grabbed a good book from their collection and my husband brought his fishing pole for a relaxing day at the beach! He was able to catch mutton snapper and yellow tail snapper on our beach. The kitchen is fully equipped, so cooking his catch for dinner was no problem! The bungalow was very clean and well stocked. The temperature was in the mid 80’s with high humidity. There was a wonderful breeze on the beach so it was very comfortable. My only negative comment is there are daily power outages. I understand the owners have no control over this, but I would recommend a generator for the summer months. Some outages would last 15 minuets while others would last 5 to 6 hours! Some were at night but a couple of them were right in the middle of the day. When the power is out that long the bungalow heats up quickly! When the power would go out during the day we would head to the beach because it was cooler sitting under the umbrella. We also explored the Leon Levy Nature Preserve, Ten Bay Beach, Sunset Inn restaurant, Tippy’s, Buccaneers, Friday night fish fry and Island Farm. The island farm is great and only a short drive from the bungalow! The have fresh bread on Monday and Friday that is worth the trip. They also have fresh fruit and vegetables. The only place I don’t recommend is Tippy’s. The food is good but it is very expensive for what you get. Locals have grills and food stands in their front yard. This is where you will get the best food. There are many grocery stores. They all cost about the same. Alcohol is cheap but beer is not. Look to pay almost $50 for a case of beer. Eleuthera and Island Breeze Bungalow is a WIN! Vacationing here is a experience you will never forget!
