Please be careful pulling under the carport on the side of the house. It was built for a horse and carriage and is very narrow.
Please park in the backyard parking lot of the Inn and enter through the side or front door.
At the end of your stay, put all sheets, towels, bedspreads, pillows in the sacks and then in the tubs on the front porch for the sanitization service

Perfect spot to join my older daughter and sister-in-law to be there for my middle daughter’s sorority bid day. Also brought our little dog who loved the spacious backyard and walks to dog friendly Pinewood for morning coffee. He also really enjoyed watching the world go by through the beautiful glass front door. I love historic homes and this one is a beauty! We also really enjoyed the gas fireplace on the cold weekend.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay! The home is beautiful and the owners had great communication. Easy no contact check-in & the secure parking was a big bonus. Would recommend and stay here again.
We needed a place for additional family member to stay during the holiday. This home was so nice and had a great location. The beds were very comfortable and everything was conveniently located upstairs with the bedrooms, so coffee was only steps away in the mornings!
We stayed in this beautiful home to celebrate my 50th birthday, and I'm glad we chose this home. It's so close to the Downtown area and centrally located to everything there is to do in Waco. We will definitely stay here again on our return trip to Waco as there is so much to do in Waco than one weekend can handle.
Had a great long weekend in Waco. We went with my parents. It’s good to note that the bedrooms and kitchen are upstairs and with older people or toddlers the stairs could be an issue. The house is absolutely beautiful, everything you need is there. It’s close to Magnolia and great restaurants and easy to get in and out of. Would definitely recommend!
Loved the historic feel with modern comfort! Hard to find better parking at any other VRBO in Waco. We have used several. Centrally located. It was nice having a separate living area downstairs for those of us who wanted to relax and read. It was worth carrying luggage upstairs. Definitely would come Again!
Don't just stay in a home - stay in home from yesteryear!
The Inn on Austin Ave offers the perfect home away from home. Everything's included that you would expect but then there are the items you weren't expecting - the s'mores kit for the fire pit was an unexpected bonus! Outdoor dining space was perfect for eating or late night drinks and the parlor was a great place to sit and enjoy family time. You can rent a home for any getaway - but you don't often get to rent a 100 year old home that has amazing details in it.
We definitely enjoyed our stay here and would highly recommend it.
The many positive reviews for this property are accurate. It is a really cool restored old house/law office in an excellent location. Sure there are noises like creaky stairs, nearby trains, city life, etc. but they support what you would expect in a small-town atmosphere.
I really like knowing that the bedding, including comforters, are professionally cleaned between guest visits.
We had the pleasure of staying at the Inn for a long weekend. The house was immaculately clean along with all límenes and towels sanitized! It was so beautiful and the porch and upstairs patio are an added bonus for rest and relaxation . Also the downstairs entry with the fireplace for reading was perfect . Definitely will return but next time with our sons and / or extended family ! Great location and a interactive information board in the family room helped us to locate great restaurants and activities in Waco. Erin is an excellent host and always responded quickly when I had a question .
Our stay at this beautiful home for a quick mid-week trip was fantastic! This turn-of-the-century home has obviously been lovingly and painstakingly restored, and is simply stunning. The spacious rooms are well appointed, but also feel homey. The new beds were incredibly comfortable, and provided a great night's sleep. We enjoyed the lovely leather sofas and the huge TV. The kitchen was perfectly stocked with everything we needed. And everything was so beautifully decorated and clean!
The neighborhood is quiet and close to so much, but especially to all things Magnolia. Hosts (and owners) John and Erin were very gracious and hospitable, and have thought of so many details for a great stay.
I'm so glad to have found such a lovely home! Looking forward to my next visit here.
We loved the Inn at Austin. It was great to have the whole property and the grandkids loved the big parking area in the back for riding bikes and scooters. They also used the basketball goal every day! Erin was great to work with and very responsive to any questions we had. The Inn is in a GREAT location. It was so easy to get around. We were within a few steps or miles of everything we wanted to do. Everything you could need is available in the house and kitchen. We just had a great time and enjoyed getting out after a year of not doing much. We enjoyed the neighborhood with sidewalks, sitting out on the big front porch and also the upstairs patio for dinners in the evening. We thank Erin again for everything from making the reservation a simple task, to getting the access info to us, to answering our questions.
My sister and I booked this awesome inn for our week-long getaway with our 3 girls. There were enough common areas for us to either hang out together or get away from each other and read or work on homework (me!). The beds (and bedding) were so comfy and there were lots of towels and amenities for us all, plenty of outlets for all of our electronics, and everything in the kitchen that we could want. The washer/dryer was so appreciated and we traveled home with clean clothes! We didn't use the fire pit as it was very warm, but we LOVED the outdoor dining area on top of the carport and used it every day for a morning cup of coffee, dinner together after a long day, or a late-night drink before we turned in. It can be so difficult to book a property in a safe-feeling neighborhood and central to all the spots you want to visit when you live states away. We read lots of reviews on many different properties and we hit the mark with this one. We loved being able to park off the street, we always felt safe coming and going and this location was so easy for us to get to no matter where we spent our day.
Best of all our hosts, Erin & John, were a dream to work with. They prepared us to arrive at their home, quickly answered all of our questions, and left detailed instructions for check-out. The virtual electronic guide to the area's restaurants, shopping, and other fun spots was a huge help to this out-of-town family and was a really fun feature.
We highly recommend this property for your next trip to Waco! :)
Lovely 1912 home that was very comfortable for the 3 couples. Nicely restored and easy access to and from Baylor.
Enjoyed the upstairs deck every evening!!
Appreciate the hospitality!
The owners were fantastic at responding to any correspondence. The property was unique and characteristic. I feel comfort knowing that all the bedding, including pillows, are sent to be professionally cleaned after each guest. Great experience overall.
What beautiful home. 110 years young and restored amazingly. It was such a wonderful place to stay even my 2 granddaughters, 2 and 5, who were with us were in awe. The description was spot on. The toiletries and other amenities that were provided were abundant and more than enough. The Hosts were accessible if there were any problems and responded immediately. Very nice people and a pleasure to talk with. We all thoroughly enjoyed our stay there and would go back in a heartbeat. And yes, it is walking distance to the Magnolia Silos!!
We enjoyed a nice family weekend with our new Baylor student for Family weekend. It was great to be able to have our own rooms and a nice dining area to enjoy home cooked meals. Thanks so much!!
Beautifully maintained...lots of space. Lovely hosts.

We are a professional couple from Central Texas. We own/operate three vacation rentals. The Getaway at Lake Whitney was our family lakehouse/retreat. It has been fully restored and is now an very popular weekend rental. The Inn on Austin Avenue opened in August of 2019 and is a beautifully restored historic home in downtown Waco. The Hideaway at Lake Belton is a three-story mid-century modern lake view home. We absolutely love hosting guests in these homes which we have had so much fun restoring. We take pride in giving our guests beautiful homes that are perfect locations for making great memories.
Why they chose this property
The Inn on Austin Avenue was built in 1912. The craftsman style home was in terrible shape when we purchased it, but has been fully restored and is simply beautiful. Watch your favorite movie or play a video game on our 70 inch TV downstairs. Have a glass of wine in our outside dining room and watch the most amazing display of birds in our trees. Relax in one of the three bedrooms with new Down comforters. We promise that your stay at The Inn on Austin Avenue will be one you will remember and want to share with friends.
What makes this property unique
The Inn on Austin Avenue is about one mile from the Silos, restored by Chip and Joanna Gaines, the creators of HGTV's "Fixer Upper". It sits on historic Austin Avenue which is experiencing a great rebirth and revitalization with many coffee shops, bars, shopping, a theatre and great shopping. The Inn is also about two miles from Baylor University. It is perfect located for a fun trip to Waco, Texas.
