We crafted this home to be enjoyed by everybody all year round--from big, extended families, to friends gathered for fun, to travelers seeking peace and tranquility--From seniors, to little ones, and everybody in between. Here's a quick rundown of the property: -4 beds, 3 baths, and over 3,000 feet of luxurious finished living space--no primitive cabin accommodations here! -200' of sandy bottom lake frontage on clean, crystal clear Island Lake -Water toys included (paddle boat, 4 kayaks, canoe, kick boards) -Sleeps up to 12 in beds (King bed in Master, Queen beds in both main floor rooms, two twin-over-full bunks in lower bunk room. Two pack n' plays provided for younger guests.) -Only 10 minutes to downtown Traverse city. We've worked hard to make your stay as luxurious and relaxing as possible. In addition to the beautiful lake, convenient location, and spacious home, here are a few other amenities that we believe will make your stay that much more enjoyable: - Central air conditioning and forced air heating - High speed internet - On-site laundry (detergent/fabric sheets provided) - Amazon Echo (just ask Alexa to play music, check the news, lock and unlock the front door, or recommend a movie time in town) - New high-end furnishings and decor - Smart TVs on the main floor and lower level (DirectTV with premium movie channels, and complimentary Netflix, Disney+, and Hulu) - Recently renovated, high-end, tool and utensils stocked kitchen with dishwasher - Deck space with seating on all three levels - Private master suite including ensuite master bath and gigantic closets - Complimentary toiletries - All linens and towels provided (except beach towels) - Hair dryer in every bathroom - Universal phone chargers, sound machines, and fans in each bedroom -Hangers in all closets. Other things to cover: -We adhere to the good neighbor policy--be respectful of the lake, the property, and our neighbors. Quiet hours on the lake are from 7PM to 11AM. The lodge can accommodate up to five vehicles at one time during the summer, and three vehicles during the winter. All vehicles must be parked in the driveway and/or fully off of the road at the top of the adjacent lot (please refrain from parking across the road, on the road, or anywhere that is not designated lodge property).

The lake-wide quiet hours are 7PM to 11AM. There is no public boat access site on the lake. Please respect our peaceful lake and wonderful neighbors.
The island is a private property. While you may enjoy the water and shallows around the island, please stay off the island itself.
All vehicles must be parked in the driveway or off of the road completely on the adjacent lot. No shoulder parking across the street.

Truly an amazing space

The house was absolutely perfect, the views stunning and very functional. I was able to easily communicate with the hosts about any questions and they were so fast to get back to me. Ive already recommended this stay to family.

Very Impressive Property Manager

There was a small issue at check in. Matt went above and beyond to ensure everything got fixed right away. He did everything in his power to help us in the situation, sent snacks and treated our group to pizza. We appreciate everything he did. The property was clean, unique and very cozy. 10/10 would recommend staying here and I am an avid traveler.

A lovely, serene wonderful stay

We had the pleasure of staying at the Island Lake Lodge for a week. The house was immaculately clean and very homey. There was ample space, comfortable beds and the most amazing back yard. The lake was clear and clean. The house was wonderfully equipped with kayaks, a paddle boat and life jackets of all sizes. The hot tub was clean and and just a luxury! We even used it on the rainy days! Our kids loved the gaming systems in the basement which we also put to good use while it rained. The house is about 20 minutes from Traverse City but it’s an easy drive. Besides all of that goodness, what stood out was just how thoughtful every detail was in the house. Little things like step stools under each bathroom sink for smaller kids, hooks outside the hot tub for towels, beach toys in the shed and makeup towels in each bathroom. We truly had an excellent stay and would love to come back and visit again!

Home on the Lake

We've organized many family vacations at rental properties, and this is far and away the best property we have ever rented. Not only is the property great, but the host was superb. Island Lake Lodge is well stocked and supplied with everything you need. We felt very comfortable here. The kitchen had the full assortment of plates, bowls, glasses and silverware. Everything matched. No mismatched secondhand sets. There were pots and pans for whatever you wanted to cook. Furniture was nice and up to date. If we weren't out seeing the sites, we took advantage of the kayaks on the lake. Our oldest grandson used the paddle boat to fish. We all floated in the clear water or sat on the dock using the abundant chairs. At night we gathered around the dining table for various games. We had one problem with the A/C, but that was quickly taken care of. Matt, the owner, rapidly had a service man out and drove in personally to see that it was handled. Matt even brought us some ice cream treats to keep us cool. An unexpected surprise. We would definitely recommend Island Lake Lodge to anybody. It feels like a Home on the Lake!

Nice place for a family vacation

This property was perfect for our family vacation. The accommodations were great…plenty of space and lots of amenities, SO MANY activities on the property and in the area during the month of July, We could have spent a month easily!

First weekend trip with the entire family!

The Christmas gift to my parents this year was a three night stay with their four granddaughters (ages 1 to 13), two kids, and spouses. We have NEVER done this before and didn't know what to expect. To say that it went perfect would be an understatement! From the comforts of each family having their own space to plenty of room to eat as one big family to the evening "jacuzzi swimming" with the youngest girls to the pre-bed-time dip in the hot tub.. It was such a great time - even with no snow! We had planned on a weekend of sledding, skating, and playing in the snow, but the consolation of movie-watching, playing games, watching football, and exploring the outdoors was just as much fun. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a peaceful retreat that allowed us to reconnect as a family in a perfect up-north setting.

The perfect place for families

We could not have found anything more perfect!! Matt and Jeremy have a beautiful cottage. It's decorated beautifully and has lots of extras! The lake is stunning, it's very quiet and serene. My husband and I book a family trip each year and we look for a place that offers a home environment but has room for everyone to have their personal space. Mission accomplished. Our son, his wife and our two granddaughters had the upstairs. Our daughter and her wife and their work had the basement. Our son and his GF had the 3rd main floor bedroom and my hubby and I had the 4th room. Tons of room for everyone. ♥️

Rainy days at the beautiful island !!!

Excellent amenities!! Our yearly get together with high school friends was another success!! Fortunately we had wonderful streaming options and a warm glow on the fireplace!!! Too Short a Stay!

Had a wonderful time! Hope to come back and make more use of the hot tub (only in it once) and use the fire pit, kayaks, spend some time on the dock. We had a great weekend.

Beautiful home in a great location. Everything you need for a fun, relaxing vacation is provided. No need to ever leave the property. We had 6 adults and 4 kids under the age of 3 and there was plenty of space for us all. Would definitely rent again.

Best stay yet!

We’ve stayed at several properties and this one was the absolute best! Perfect for our 3 family group. The teen boys loved the kayaks! The fishing was good! Very lovely dock and fire pit. An easy drive to Traverse City and Sleeping Bear Dunes. House is well-stocked and clean. Matt is so responsive with any questions. We all had an amazing time and hated to leave!

Our daughter was diagnosed with a rare form of cancer in December 2018. While we are happy to report that she is responding to treatment and doing well, her diagnosis inspired us to live our dreams right now.

We grew up enjoying the majesty of "up north", and wanted our kids to have the same memory making experiences. We wanted a place for family and friends to gather and relax, and a place to escape the hustle and bustle of our busy lives.

We look forward to all of the memories we'll make at this beautiful property, and we're proud to share it with you--in hopes that we can fill this home with all the love and happiness possible.
