About this property

Spacious Historic Townhouse in Central London - family friendly

HOW WE TAKE CARE OF YOU. Our townhouse is spacious, light and lovingly cared for. If you need any advice, just call or email Fatijah (presently in California but still a Londoner at heart.)
THE CHARMING SAFE NEIGHBORHOOD. Maida Vale, one of Central London's upscale neighborhoods, is a sought after area for Londoners, because while you can easily get anywhere in central London, it is also quiet and friendly, without the pollution and bustle of Soho or Oxford Street. The charming parade of shops boasts a florist, beauty parlor, and general store as well as restaurants and delis.
One block away is a large park with two children’s playgrounds and a running track (where Roger Bannister trained to break the 4 minute mile). The Abbey Road Studios, where the Beatles recorded, is a 15-minute walk; as is Little Venice, with its 18th century canals and colorful houseboats. Want to venture further? Portabello Road Market in Notting Hill is a little over half an hour's walk.
OUR EDWARDIAN TOWNHOUSE. The reception room has the classic features of the late 1800's: nine-foot ceilings, crown molding, crystal chandeliers and period prints. We provide high speed wireless internet, a high-end stereo system and an assortment of guidebooks and brochures. The first floor has a dining room, living room, TV room/sleeping area and an eat-in kitchen with modern appliances. The two bedrooms, on the upper floor, are large and light. The master bedroom has a queen size bed. The second bedroom has a double and a single bed. Both bedrooms overlook one-way streets with trees and little traffic. The bathroom is vast, with a tub, shower, and bidet - as well as excellent water pressure.
CENTRAL LONDON AT YOUR DOORSTEP. From Heathrow, take the 15 minute Heathrow Express to Paddington Station. Go one tube stop or a very short cab ride. You’ve arrived!
Our townhouse is close to two tube stations, Maida Vale and Warwick Avenue. You can get anywhere in Central London with ease. (The Bakerloo line is one of the best, with trains running every 2 or 3 minutes.) Oxford Circus, London’s shopping mecca, is a ten-minute tube ride. Piccadilly Circus, the center of the theater district, is a twelve-minute ride. You can get on and off the tubes and buses easily with a credit card. Whether you spend your days navigating the crowds on Oxford Street, touring Westminster Abbey, or awed by the Tower of London, you will welcome returning to our quiet, safe oasis.

The Best London Experience!

Our family of 4 adults stayed at this lovely townhome for 9 days over Christmas 2024. Everything was perfect: clean & comfortable accommodations, great communication with the owner, short walks to the Bakerloo Line, great local pub (The Warrington), a deli, and grocery. It had everything we needed. It was easy to get to the city center and was close to other sites like Little Venice, Abby Road, Kensington. We had the best trip. Highly recommend!!

Lovely townhouse in beautiful neighborhood

The property was lovely - clean, cozy, and well set-up for our family of five. The beds were comfortable and the kitchen had all we needed to prepare meals before and after our long days out and about in London. Right across the road there are a few shops and the tube station is only three blocks away. Fatijah was easy to communicate with. I would happily stay here again!

Perfect for a family stay

I just can't say enough nice things about this property- we fell in love with the neighborhood - great park, restaurants, cafes and close to the tube. The apartment itself was spacious and had everything we needed for our week long stay. The host was very easy to communicate with and provided a lot of great information about the location. We would definitely stay again!

Home away from home

The home was exactly as we had hoped for. As a family of four with a near teen and teenager, we loved having the many spaces and rooms to spread out. The kitchen was a lovely space for morning pastries from across the street recommended by the owner and nespresso coffees. The neighborhood was quiet and serene and a nice way to start and finish each day of exploring London. The TV nook was a favorite of my husband’s and the kids loved their cozy roomwith two separate beds. The windows were spectacular and we did get to enjoy some rare but lovely sunny moments during our winter stay. The tube stations were super accessible and walking to paddington for our day trip to Windsor was very easy to do. We definitely felt like we had a special home away from home at this rental and would recommend it to any family looking for a way to have some space and use of their own kitchen.

Perfect home away from home!

We loved this house and neighborhood so much. The house was perfect for our family of four - just as described and shown in pictures. This was our first trip to London and couldn’t have been happier with the location - quiet and away from the hustle and bustle of central London, but still easy to get anywhere. Fun restaurants and shops nearby and an easy walk to the Underground (which we took daily). The host was wonderful to work with. We really hope to be back someday!

Delightful

So many great things about this home. In a quiet neighborhood with shops and restaurants below. Easy access to public transportation (tube, bus). Spacious for our family of 5 and well equipped. A very European feel. A responsive and accommodating host. Would highly recommend and stay again.

We loved the flat and the owners were exceptional. Highest recommendation!

My family of 4 stayed here for a week and loved it. The location was perfect- we wore a track to the Maida Vale Tube station 3 short blocks away- easy access to all of London. There are excellent cafes/takeaways right across the street where we grabbed breakfast in the morning. I love hot baths and the hot water in the flat was endless and hot! The information packet provided by the owners was also useful- we used the car service recommended for transport to and from the airport. We would definitely stay here again!

Amazing flat!!

We couldn't have been happier at this flat. We came with our 3 kids from the States (11, 10 and 6) and everyone had a comfy place to sleep. We absolutely loved the neighborhood (we went to the shop right across the street almost daily for supplies and grabbed croissants and coffee from the little cafe often.). We loved that the tube station was only a few blocks away. We rode the tube everywhere all week. We were so grateful to find this little oasis to return to after a long day of sight seeing. We couldn't be happier with the choice! Can't recommend it enough!

A great home base in London

This flat is lovely (just like the pics) and the neighborhood is safe and has interesting spots to settle in. We loved the little Lebanese cafe across the street and used it as a breakfast base. Yummy food and kind and caring proprietors. It is several blocks to the nearest Tube Station and it takes a bit of time to get to town, etc. Doubledecker buses into the center of London work well also. But if you are like us having only based in Trafalgar area this is not as convenient but quiet and lovely. We found Uber was our friend getting home from theater at night, though did use the Tube once. During our visit, strikes were in process and they do put a hold on the city for visitors, thus some dependence on Uber. I would base out of this flat again and the owner is delightful to deal with.

Very well-maintained house in a quiet and beautiful neighborhood of London.

We stayed in this beautiful home from May 22 to May 29th, 2018. House is very well-maintained. It is in a lovely neighborhood of London. Write out the front door and within 100 yards of the house our coffee shop and bakery, an excellent Italian restaurant with outside seating and a small grocery store for basics. The subway stop is only a five minute walk away and from their one can travel almost anywhere in London. But, there are many beautiful walks within a mile or two of the house which include a canal, Regents Park and trendy neighborhoods like Nottinghill. The owner Fatijah Clark provides a wealth of information about the home and the neighborhood, and favorite walks in the area and restaurants and shops to check out. A handyman is also on call 24 hours a day in case there any problems with the house. We used this service once and the response time was terrific. The house And location have been accurately described in prior reviews. This is an excellent place to stay and worth the cost.

Great location

We stayed a week in London so that we could meet up with a few friends before we emigrated overseas. My husband was commuting to work at Blackfriars. This house was perfect for our needs. A real home away from home. The commute to work was simple. We enjoyed the park nearby. Just a very good base and plenty of seating/beds etc for our family of 6. The host was very good at communicating with us.

Perfect stay

I can't say enough about how wonderful our stay was in Maida Vale. The neighborhood was a perfect place to come "home" to after the hustle and bustle of London. The tube stop was only 4 blocks from the townhouse. The house was clean and had everything we needed. Since we were here in July right before the heat wave, the fans were certainly welcome. Having 3 rooms where we could all have our space was nice and even having 3 bathrooms (while 2 of them very small) was nice. The greatest thing about the property was Fatijah. She was very helpful and responded quickly when I had questions. She provided us with walks around the neighborhood. My friends were tired so I took a couple of walks by myself and it was wonderful!! We ate 2 times at the restaurant next door. Good food and fun to watch people on the street. The owner (?) of the grocery across the street was o helpful. When I had a minor medical issue, he helped me navigate the hospital/pharmacy situation. Staying at the townhouse was such a great part of our trip! Thank you so much!!

Magnificent Flat

Maida Vale is a well-equipped flat in a safe, relaxing location. There are many conveneinces very close by: tube, Paddington Park, good restaurants, mini-market. It was easy to get everywhere in the city quickly. It was our first trip to London as a family and bery easy to get our bearings. The flat was plenty of room for a family of 5. The kitchen had everything for cooking. We had breakfast and some other meals in. I would definitely recommend it!

My husband and I live in California, which we love - but I am English - grew up in London - and was missing my friends and family. We were fortunate enough to buy this Edwardian townhouse. We visit whenever we can and when we can't be there, we love that other people are able to enjoy London.

Why they chose this property

We looked for over a year at more than 50 residences to find the perfect home base. We wanted it to be easily accessible from Heathrow, to be near a good tube line and bus route so we could easily navigate all of London, to have its own separate entrance and a spacious interior, and preferably to be a period property in a charming neighborhood (if possible with a good deli and general store across the street). Voila! This is it!

What makes this property unique

The townhouse was built in the Edwardian era - late 1800's or early 1900's - and we have decorated it with prints and memorabilia from this era.
Our friendly neighborhood is a quiet oasis in busy London. It is also near two tube stops on an excellent tube line so all of London is easily accessible - trains run every 2 to 3 minutes and go straight to Oxford Circus, Piccadilly Circus, Trafalgar Square etc.
