Location great but can not recommend property
I’ve been staying in LBI for four decades so I am familiar with houses/rentals and expectations. The location is ideal but I can’t recommend the house. I have shared the major concerns here with the homeowner and she did not respond to my message during my stay nor when she showed up the day we left about the air conditioning. I think it’s only fair that the listing be updated for accuracy as only half of the rooms have air conditioning units. The kitchen, bathroom and the nicer of the two living areas are not air conditioned. Even at night and morning with windows open it was too hot to sit in those rooms or cook. This needs to be on the listing. Furthermore, the house was not kept up/managed well. The gas grill was empty on arrival and the grill filthy. I communicated this to the owner who didn’t know where we could get gas and asked us to buy it. Yes she reimbursed us by check when we got home but not helpful to start off a vacation where we were planning to grill and had to research where to buy the gas, go buy it and hook it up. The kitchen was a disorganized mess with only one small fry pan, the appliances were missing handles (fridge), oven stovetop burners were crooked, drawers were like junk drawers (I sent a picture to owner during our stay because there was no grill brush to clean the grill). The sink pipes in the bathroom gave off a high pitched noise if you turned off the water totally. You get the picture- not kept up/ cared for. There were also dog cover blankets on the sofa?! Super strange.
