This charming property is situated in the heart of Gulf Shores, nestled just 2 blocks from the sugar-white sands and emerald-turquoise waters of the Gulf of Mexico. Located within walking distance to awesome restaurants, shopping, and events at the Hangout!

Your family will enjoy vacationing in our cottage-chic retreat, boasting an inviting layout and coastal furnishings, updated electronics and appliances, and luxurious touches throughout. This unit is decorated in a nautical-inspired aesthetic, with shades of turquoise, aqua and sea-glass blue paired with calming neutrals and wood finishes to create a comfortable and relaxing environment for your beach retreat. Gather the family in the living area for a movie, boasting a large flat screen HDTV, cozy sofa, two sitting chairs, and balcony access! The sofa converts to a queen size pullout bed, allowing for a maximum occupancy of 8.

The sliding glass doors open to your covered, screened-in terrace overlooking your own PRIVATE heated outdoor pool. The pool is completely fenced-in and seasonally heated between 80 and 85 degrees providing the perfect oasis to cool down! After a night of grilling, eating and laughing with friends, retire to one of three luxuriously appointed bedrooms and catch some quality z's during your much-deserved getaway! With each featuring premium mattress sets, posh bedding and high thread count linens, you're sure to indulge in some quality rest and relaxation! The master bath is equally impressive, including a huge walk-in tile and glass shower and plush oversized 100% cotton oversized bath towel sets, perfect for pampering after a long day on the beach!

good but not quite great

good location but could use some TLC. We arrived to find some cleanliness issues (half eaten chips in the master bdrm side table, candy wrappers, pool dirty, kitchen trash filthy, 2nd bathroom with dirty linens and tub/shower not cleaned, outdoor trashcan covered in maggots, sliding door w/damage). The team was very responsive and did send people to take care of the issues very quickly. Overall the house had everything we needed, the beds were very comfortable and the kitchen was well appointed but a little TLC and attention to details to touch up the few problem areas would go a long way to move the property from good to great. The pool needs the sides scrubbed (thick dirt ring around inside remained entire stay but did have the water level and chemicals adjusted) and the baby pool was filthy. The furniture in the garage area was adequate but updates would go a long way-- it's a great area but not set up to maximize use. An umbrella or two on the pool deck would be a huge improvement as well and the screens on the porch need to be repaired/replaced in several spots. We had a really good time, but as regular vacation home renters, we wanted to share our suggestions because the location is wonderful and the property has big potential to be really great.

Family Vacation at Summer Wishes

My husband and I spent a week at Summer Wishes, along with my in-laws and our 3 kids (ages 14, 6 and 3). While the house is not huge, it still housed all 7 of us comfortably. The two older kids loved the room with the twin beds! If you want to be in the middle of all of the restaurants and shopping in Gulf Shores, this location couldn't be better. The beach, shopping and plenty of food places are even within walking distance. The outdoor space is the best part of the house - the pool was wonderful, and all of the outdoor seating in the shade was really nice, especially for grandparents. It was also nice to have access to the storage area, where we found several pool floats and beach toys (we also left a few more for the next guests as well)! It is a great house for a family vacation.

Great size for family of four

We traveled with our two teen boys over Spring Break in mid-March; it was a great time, although the weather was chilly. Great property, and the pool was a bonus, but also very cold. The short-term rental next door was very active/noisy throughout the night, so it impacted our ability to sit outside, but that is no fault of this property. We knew this was a heavily traveled Spring Break destination, so we figured parties might be a problem. House is charming and just the right size for us!

Great stay, check-in nightmare

House was as described, very nice, and overall very clean. I rated cleanliness a 4, due to covered porch table was filthy. Bed and furniture were very comfortable. Definitely recommend staying here. Pool and outside are private and plenty of seating for large groups. Check-in was awful! I did not receive check-in instructions, and "Charlene", who was supposed to be my contact, NEVER replied! The only way we got in (after driving 15 hours) was going to the property and finding the phone number for managing company on a sign in the yard. I did get check-in instructions from there, but not without a few hours of worry. I contacted the VRBO company directly (not easy) and they tried contacting the owner directly, with no success. The VRBO agent said that I would have to wait until check-in time to get resolution, such as accommodations. Calling the number on the sign got us in, but I am surprised that VRBO never checked back with me to see if we got in. Overall, a great place to stay. I would recommend to the managing company to list their phone number as a point of contact! Also, VRBO's customer service was less than stellar.

Cozy home very close to the beach

Great location! The home was clean, comforatable, cozy and private. The pool was a great plus. Great for a family of 5-6. My only suggestion would be to add a loveseat or another comfortable chair or 2 in the living room area to allow for 5-6 people to comfortably watch the big screen.

Compact

Great location. The house is very compact. There were enough beds for the six of us but the bathrooms are tiny and so was the kitchen and living room. The beds and towels were clean but there was a lot of dust. It’s an older home so it could definitely use some sprucing up. The landscape is very over grown which makes it a hot spot for mosquitoes under the home - which is where you hang out when by the pool. Also there are broken pieces of furniture sitting under the house. Communication was great and the pool was as well.

Absolutely loved this house. It was perfect for what we were looking for, private pool was a huge plus. The walk to the beach wasn’t bad at all! Really enjoyed being close enough to walk to the beach, but still being able to enjoy the privacy of this property.

Property okay for short vacation. We had to evacuate because of hurricane Sally so did not to enjoy it long. Tile floors needed a good cleaning. Pool good but needed better cleaning around edge of it. Having trouble filing trip insurance claim, doubt it will pay like it says it should for Hurricane. Found lack of concern by property manager for our safety during hurricane somewhat troubling.

Great house and location for family vacation

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Summer Wishes! The house size and sleeping accommodations were perfect for our family of 5! The kitchen was well stocked to prepare meals and bathrooms had enough luxurious towels for all to use without having to wash everyday! The pool was a treat! Very relaxing after a day at the softball games or the beach. Storage closet had good selection of beach gear: chairs, wagon, and toys! The location provided great access to the beach with a short walk to the stoplight that allowed for easy crossing of street to get on the beach. We were thankful for the amenities and solitude this house offered given the current pandemic and social distancing recommendations. We had a great stay and will definitely return to Summer Wishes when we return to Gulf Shores!

Perfect little beach house

We loved staying here. It was the perfect size for our family and the screened in porch and pool were amazing. It was a quick two block walk to the beach. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a relaxing, private getaway.

Quick spring break getaway

House was very clean and had plenty of dishes, pans, etc. The heated pool was amazing and us where we spent most of our tome since the beaches were closed while we were there. It would be nice if the bedrooms had a few drawers as I like to unpack while on vacation, but we made it work. It was a great place for our quick trip!

Enjoyed our Stay

The house was very nice and well-equipped. The heated pool was a great plus! Wish the weather could have been a bit warmer as we were just a 5 minute walk from a beautiful beach. During our week there was quite a bit of noise from construction going on next door, but overall we really enjoyed our stay.
