MATINES-A FRENCH WAY OF LIVING - BREAKFAST IN THE GARDEN, WINE around the Pool
For 12 years our holiday apartments have been a heaven from the hustle and turrmoil of every day life. Our guests keep coming back year after year and we have seen toddlers turning into adults. THERE ARE 12 apartments in this old priory. And each has it's own individuality, with either a garden or a large terrace overlooking the pools. Nature, and calm and service is our moto. There are 2 pools one of which is heated starting in mid April till the departure of the last guest. Matines (name of gite) has 1 bedroom with a double bed. A kitchen with the equipment required for a cook up, though we discouvered that most of our guests like the BBQ in the private garden that is part of the gite and a living/dining area with a dominant fire place where the fire is blasing during the cold weather. We encorage visitors to explor the area where is so much to see, as we are surrounded by vineyards.

Both my husband and myself are French and we bought the property when my husband was at the point of retiring. It seemed a good idea to buy a large place that needed renovation so that he can have an occupation. We wanted the children (4 of them) to come over and bring friends. they came and brougth friends and those friends brought more friends and we ended up have to start the rental business. We did not mean to rent it just happened. Now we have many that keep coming back to us. They all tell us to keep the place a secret because they don't want it to be spoilt. But we like to see visitors, and so.......
Why they chose this property
A property is something of the heart. There is no logic why you ok one place and not another thought they may look the same. When we purchased the priory it was in a dire state. But, oh, the location!!! It took us by surprise and it still does. We are very near the centre of the town and yet, we are secluded with wonderful old trees and mornign birds. I hope you would come and see what we mean.
