Circa 1885 is a beautifully renovated, historic, open-floorplan home in downtown Santa Fe only a few blocks from the City Plaza, Canyon Road, Railyard District, museums, concert halls and the NM State Capitol Building. The home is spacious with 11'-12' high ceilings that welcome in the beautiful Santa Fe light, a modern full kitchen with dishwasher and gas range, a kiva instant on gas fireplace for cozy evenings and a private portal (porch) for sunny afternoons. The massive center adobe wall that divides the living space from the bedroom and bath was lovingly saved, reinforced and plastered as a sculptural homage to the home's legacy. Furnishings include a 19th Century Austrian Walnut wardrobe, luxurious solid wood four poster queen bed, an antique marble-topped vanity retrofitted with a vessel sink, Mitchell Gold & Bob Williams love seat and original lithographs from the 2019 Student Portfolio of UNM's prestigious Tamarind Institute. Immerse yourself in Santa Fe's rich heritage by making "Circa 1885" your home-base in Santa Fe.

Our commercial laundry service – the same laundry service used by most high-end hotels in Northern New Mexico - uses unscented, hypoallergenic detergent and extremely hot water. Sheets are lightly starched and ironed at 385 degrees.

Short Visit to Santa Fe

As advertised. Very pleasant for two. There for 3 nights. Easy walking to downtown/Plaza and Railyard District. Property manager very responsive. Had question about fireplace. Issue solved with text/telephone call, but manager ready to come in person. Great bakery for breakfast a block away.

Cozy retreat

We enjoyed our three-night stay in the 1885 casita. The home was comfortable for two people. It is cozy with a fireplace and beautifully decorated. The place was thoughtfully supplied with everything we needed, including cough drops when the symptoms of a cold started. The location is close to restaurants, stores, and a reasonable walk from the Plaza. We hope to come back someday!

Sanctuary in Santa Fe

This casita is the perfect cocoon for a cozy weekend, but it's also so centrally located to the very best of Santa Fe that guests have the best of both worlds.The casita is so perfectly appointed! The owner has truly thought of every detail to ensure the pleasure of her guests. The kitchen is fully equipped, the bed is incredibly comfy, the living area with fireplace is perfect for a pre-dinner drink or midnight snack and the bath/shower is fantastic.Communication with the owner was also top tier. Santa Fe had unexpected high winds the day we arrived and the power company had scheduled a power outage in hopes of avoiding wildfires that could be caused by electrical lines. We ended up with no power outage, but Linda was very transparent about what "could" happen and even dropped off brand new extra comforters, candles and flashlights should we have an outage. All in all, our stay was 10/10 on every level.

Anniversary trip

Cozy, clean, comfortable, quiet and absolutely beautiful!!!!! No other words. We enjoyed our stay more than we thought we would. Location is perfect. Loved the sweet surprise waiting for us after a 9 hour drive. If we ever come back, no second thoughts as to where we'd stay! Thank you!

A Charming Casita to make your stay in Santa Fe perfect

This cozy Casita has everything you need and more. It was immaculately clean, very cozy and comfy, and within walking distance of all the Santa Fe museums, shopping, dining etc. There were extra touches everywhere. Welcome wine & cheese, milk for our coffee, and even vitamin C and cough drops in case we had the sniffles! The owners responded promptly to us when we had a question and when the toaster died, a new one was waiting for us the same day. This VRBO is one of the best we've stayed at and we highly recommend it. You won't be sorry!

Year End Getaway

My wife and I had a short but sweet stay at the Circa 1885 casita. Finding the casita was no problem when we arrived from the Taos high road route. When we entered the casita, I felt a sense of satisfaction. It looked like the photos but experiencing it in person with its high ceilings was more enhancing.Soon after we arrived, the property manager came to check that some of the complimentary arrangements were in place. Later in the evening, one of the owners came to check that we were comfortable.The added fees made the cost per night a bit steep, but it was worth it compared to other places that might have been fine but not as nice or favorably located.While there, we enjoyed the beauty and comfort of the environment as well as the location which was convenient and safe. Before arriving, I was a bit apprehensive about whether we might feel disturbed by traffic noise, but that wasn’t a problem.The bed was very comfortable, the heating system was very efficient, the water in the shower was very hot, the place was clean and nicely decorated, the fireplace was a delight during the cold, windy evenings while we watched a favorite show on our preferred app. There were shades and drapes on the windows that provided a means for privacy when needed, but allowed for adequate daylight when open.

Beautiful and per “ Goldilocks “, just right!

Cleanliness, thoughtful of every detail, very comfortable and welcoming! The kiva is now electrified…our miss that it’s not wood burning. Nothing was spared to make this perfect casita, pretty much the nicest overall vrbo or arbnb we’ve ever stay at! Also, thanks so much for the frig items and the wine and crackers-we enjoyed them all!

Wonderful getaway to a special city

The property was perfect for our needs. Beautifully appointed and very comfortable, it is located near many of the city's major attractions. We would love to return to this charming historical home on subsequent visits to Santa Fe.

Cute and Comfortable for Two

This property is just as described and within walking distance of most things. The room was a comfortable size for just the two of us and the little courtyard was perfect for sitting outdoors. The street side can get a little busy during the weekday but wasn’t annoying or intolerable. The only suggestion I have is to add one more comfortable chair to sit in for the living area. The loveseat can get a little crowded for two if you are not small in stature. Overall we loved this property as our home base and would stay here again. The added touch of a bottle of wine, cheese and crackers and other small touches were greatly appreciated.

Lovely Property!

So much to recommend this property. It is very conveniently located. We did not have to move our car except for a trip to Los Almos and Taos. Everything is within walking distance. The unit is so well designed that despite the fact that it is compact, it is very comfortable for two people. Kitchen is well equipped so that you can eat in comfortably as we did several nights. Most importantly the unit was immaculate. Would highly recommend and stay again for sure.
