Perfect Getaway

This little cabin was perfect for our little weekend getaway. We would love to come back when it’s warmer to be able to sit on the back porch and listen to the creek behind the cabin. Very nice, clean cabin.

The Love Shack

Overall we had a great time. We loved the cabin, and its location. The upstairs loft floor is slightly slanted to the inside wall, but barely enough to notice. We just switched ends on the bed. Thanks for a wonderful week.

Wonderful cabin

This is a beautiful, clean and well maintained cabin. We had a problem with the freezer not maintaining the temperature. It took a couple days to make a tray of ice. We will return hopefully to a new refrigerator.

Perfect

We had a great stay here. The location was perfect - just outside of the busyness of Gatlinburg, but still on a main road... For us it was the perfect balance between getting away from it all, and still being near civilization. I personally liked that we were near a main road because I'm scared to be out in the middle of nowhere. The cabin was very clean and the hot tub was great. The only issue I had was that the deck was very splintery and I wished that I had brought flip-flops.

Love Shack

Couch was very uncomfortable, cabin was very clean. Would have appreciated a bigger bathroom upstairs and a television but never the less it was a nice vacation. Prefer gas logs over wood burning fireplace. Firewood is not cheap there. The hot tub was very nice, needs additional privacy fencing.

Smoky Mountains

Overall it was good, but this cabin is closest to the road and you can hear the traffic when the creek is low. After it rained for 2 days the creek filled up and helped mask the noise. The pictures show the creek in the back, but not the view of the gas station/market that you see from the back porch. It was clean and had what we needed for our family trip, but I was hoping for a little more seclusion. It's not too far from Smoky Mountain Park entrances and a bunch of little convenience stores. About 20 minutes to Gatlinburg. It was a bit snug with the 4 of us, but doable.

Lovely cabin

It was a lovely little cabin! Outside there are a couple of rocking chairs and a picnic table. The back deck has a hot tub and overlooks a small creek. Rhododendron were blooming. Remember you're not in a city so there will be insects and 'critter' possibilities. Inside we found all the necessities. It was very comfortable with plenty of lighting and seating. We loved the loft view and bedroom. There is a jetted tub downstairs, but outside the bathroom. One little tip is to be sure you have good knees when the only bed is upstairs! Fortunately there is also a 1/2 bath just off the bedroom. The price was great so I give it a great reference. It does need a little update/refresh but this is easy to overlook at the price we paid.

Disappointed

No WiFi, which we needed, and the people before us had no WiFi. Also the washer and dryer did not work. Hot tub was awesome. Bed was very comfortable. Nice place with back deck and stream easy access , you can park right by front door. Ice maker did not work properly. It would have been nice to have more towels considering there was a hot tub. Should not advertise WiFi and washer and dryer and not work. When you pay for it it should work.

Could have been cleaner

It’s a cute place, but lots of room for improving the cleanliness. Could use a good dusting, the sheets had lots of hair in them, brown and yellow stains on the mattress covers, black mold growing on the bathroom floor, stained pillows (we went to the store and bought our own). The cookware in the kitchen is so bad, we had to go buy a skillet for breakfast because the on provided is so warped and peeling. Probably won’t return, especially for the money I spent :(

BEWARE! If you like sleeping with roaches, come stay at Bear Tootin cabins!

We were hoping to stay there for a week for our anniversary. We got there late around 11pm and unloaded all of our gear. The place seemed clean and nice at first glance. We liked that it had an enclosed back porch so we could hang out with our pups back there while listening to the babbling creek. Sure, it overlooks the gas station too, but that's something that you can ignore with the trees. We also liked that it had two bathrooms. First red flag: the kitchen had about 10 roach traps placed around the countertops and in the kitchen cabinets. I knew something was up. First roach I saw walked out from the microwave on the countertop (completely ignoring the roach traps). I told my husband who came and killed it because cockroaches give me the creeps. Then, he went upstairs to go to sleep when he called out that he just killed a roach on our bed. I went up to see where he found it and it was on my pillow... great! We heard sounds from the kitchen so I went down to see if maybe it was one of our dogs, but they were both in bed. I turned on my flashlight so I could make my way to the kitchen when I see a few scatter in the living room. And, by the time I made it into the kitchen 3 were just hanging out in the sink where we had washed our dog's food bowls which I can only assume they were enjoying any remnants of their food we had left behind. My husband of course killed all the ones that we saw which we counted 7 total. Knowing that we saw 7 cockroaches, we could only imagine how many were lying in wait in the walls. We barely slept that night even though we were exhausted from driving 10 hours to get there. I messaged the host to let her know what was going on, and her response was that she would send out Orkin to spray outside of the cabin and that she would give us spray for the inside. At first, I thought maybe that would help, but then we saw more even when we got up at 8am and decided to pack up and leave. I told her what we decided to do and would appreciate a partial refund for nights not stayed. She said she could not give us a refund if we left early which makes no sense to me if the place you are hosting is infested with cockroaches! I have continuously called VRBO about this and will continue to do so until I get my money back. Going out of town and spending over $1K to rent a cabin just to leave after one night is not some secret plan of ours to ruin your business lady! Treat your renters fairly and give refunds when they are due!

Very lovely stay

The cabin was very clean when we arrived. We enjoyed the availability of a hot tub and roku tv, just wished the tv was upstairs with the bed. Our freezer didn’t freeze anything except ice cubes, despite our turning the coolness all the way up. That was probably the only problem that we encountered throughout our entire stay! Would recommend and would go back!
