You will arrive at a level parking area with level-access to the single story home. There is enough space to park multiple cars. In the front of the home is a grass area and a picnic table for you to enjoy.

As you enter the home, you will be welcomed into a spacious living and dining area with 1/2 bath, mountain stone fireplace with gas logs, flat panel smart TV. The living area has a queen sofa bed (bed linen provided), comfortable to sleep two adults. The fully equipped and updated kitchen offers new granite counter tops, new stainless steel appliances (stove, refrigerator, dishwasher, microwave), one regular and one Keurig coffee maker and all your dishes and utensils. The dining area includes the kitchen counter with bar-stools and a modern 4-person dining table between the kitchen and living room.

There are 2 large master bedroom suites with attached bath on either side of the living area. Each master suite includes a King size bed, gas fireplace, smart TV, and a large 2-person Jacuzzi with spectacular views from each room.

Beyond the living room is the most mesmerizing area of the home - the back deck! Take a dip in the hot tub or just kick back on the patio furniture and take in the amazing view! This is an experience that is not to be missed.

There is high-speed 400 MBPs Xfinity Wi-Fi throughout the home.

We have a private driveway that will fit multiple cars. It is possible to turn around in the driveway (a lot of cabins don't have this feature).

If you want the spectacular view you have to drive up! If this is your first time in the Gatlinburg area, we do recommend you arrive for the first time during daylight hours to get used to the mountain roads. We do recommend a 4 wheel drive if it snows. Your car will not have any trouble getting up and down the mountain roads, we just like to make things perfectly clear.

Needs work

The view is the only good thing about this property. The house needs maintenance. It doesn’t look like the photos at all. There was something rattling on the roof all night and we could not sleep. We ended up leaving early. I would not consider staying at this property again. I have emailed the owner the specific details and photos of the issues with the property. Very disappointing stay.

StayatShala: mid February

Homey Cabin, not too far from town, on top of the mountain. Good view of the mountains. Only problems we found with the Cabin was that only 1 fireplace was operational, and there was a constant annoying beeping sound coming from somewhere we could not find. Sounded like a drier alarm going off but never ended. Also, I suggest having a 4x4 vehicle if staying during rainy/freezing temperatures.

Seluded cabin winter wonderland

Most scenic views. Super nice amenities. If a snow storm comes through like it did for us, you will see cinematic character in the landscape. Just park down the hill at the mailbox and walk up. Had 33" tires 4x4 wheel drive and snow chains. Slid into a ditch at an angle and was stuck on the hill almost flipped the vehicle. Had to get a guy to winch us out. He at first thought he couldnt do it. Cause once out the ditch the ice was so bad he thought it was going to slide down into a pole. Only reason we got out was because i have a 4inch suspension lift kit and ended up riding half the vehicle in the ditch to have traction. Limited help. No one could reach us we were very lucky. The city salts their roads first and then they do the counties.Still highly recommend the spot though. Just park your vehicle at the mailbox if extreme weather is coming through

Great view, but property is old and run down

Area rug smelled terrible, like dog pee. Uncomfortable furniture, very squeeky beds, place just looked and felt old and beat up. Very dirty walls and woodwork. Several light switches were bad, toilets were in a tiny closet like room in each bathroom. Showers were dirty and shower heads awful. Broken toaster and kitchen was a mess. The only good part was the view and we saw bears . The drive up was steep and had a hard time even finding the driveway covered in leaves. wellSomcabinetsin

Birthdays

Had a great time. We have been staying in Gatlinburg twice a year for over 20 years now and this was the best view we've had. Had 4 bears come visit and one climbed on the deck to say hello, we just waved thru the window

Stay At Shala

Property had a wonderful view. Perfect for two couples. Kitchen really needs utensils and pans. We had one skillet. Our biggest issue was the air conditioner didnt work and it got very hot in the evening. Since it was Easter there was nobody to fix it but the host did give us a credit for one night. We had a good time regardless.

Two Couples for a Gatlinburg Mountain Getaway

We loved the layout of the cabin. Perfect for two couples like us. Both bedrooms suites were exactly the same! Beautiful view of the mountains in the distance. We spent all our time on the deck! We stay in a lot of VRBOs so the few minor issues we discovered we let owner know and he responded immediately! If they don’t know, they can’t be fixed. Perfect location! Secluded but yet close enough to the fun stuff!

Gorgeous Views!

This was our first time renting a cabin to stay in for our family trip to Gatlinburg this year. I was a little apprehensive at first, but I'm SO glad I took the leap and booked this beautiful cabin for my little family of three. If you want a perfect view of the mountains every morning, this place is for you! The bonuses include speedy internet, a fully utensiled kitchen, and a hot tub that overlooks the Smokeys. The check-in was easy, the cabin was clean and cozy, and the hosts were lovely and really care about making sure you're comfortable. My son was so disapppinted when we had to leave, but we're already looking forward to booking another stay next year! A little tip though: it can be hard to navigate, but my husband found if you use the app called "Waze" and type in the direct address, it takes you to exactly where you need to go.

Fantastic location, much to be desired

Unfortunately our stay was truly underwhelming. The property needs a thorough deep cleaning - to the point where we considered leaving early and finding a different place to stay. I could elaborate on specifics, but for the sake of not having to relive it I will implore the hosts to please clean their property themselves to understand the lack of care their cleaners truly have. The hosts were on top of communicating, however it took quite a bit of back and forth to secure my deposit back, as well as to obtain a refund for the lack of cleanliness. It was great to be able to bring pets, however it appeared none of the previous guests had cleaned up after theirs, and the yard was full of dog feces. The view is also misleading - the photos make it look great however there is quite a lot of foliage that is blocking the view itself that needs to be cut down. Overall, for our 6th wedding anniversary that was supposed to be a great weekend it turned into a truly poor experience.

View Was Great Everything Else Not So Much

The view was amazing, but thats about all. The hot tub was nice but when youre sitting in the hot tub you cant see the mountains because there is a large board on the railing blocking your view. There were 2 boards broken on the porch that they sat a plastic trash can in front of to block the opening. The place is very outdated. I felt like i was staying in my great grandmas house. The mattresses were terrible. There was a broken bowl sitting on the the counter when we came in. The showers and the tubs are old and stained. The living room was just random pieces of furniture that dont match and it did not look like it did in the pictures. Weve stayed in a lot of cabins and this was the most weve ever paid for one so our expectations were high and we were very disappointed.

Great Potential

Unfortunately, we were disappointed in the lack of care (for the property) and hospitality. The view get 5 stars. The layout of the home gets 5 stars, but that's where the good ended. Overall, the place needs a thorough cleaning. The filth around the door knob on the front door was our first impression. There was old dirt everywhere- all the woodwork is dirty and splattered, there were chunks of dust clinging to the walls above the cabinets in the kitchen, and the dried-on food on the inside lid of the garbage can was disgusting. I could go on, but you get the idea. Fill the holes in the walls if you aren't going to put up artwork and give the place a fresh coat of paint. For a place in this price range, I would expect, at a minimum, salt and pepper, a few basic spices in the cabinets, paper products like aluminum foil, plastic wrap, and storage containers for food. I've also never stayed in any rented hotel or private residence where there wasn't at least starter Keurigs/coffee and Kleenex. The soap dispensers in the showers were broken and unfilled. The garbage cans in the bathrooms were ancient and had rust on them. One of the lights in one of the showers was full of dead bugs. Final thought- it didn't feel like we were staying in a home that was owned by someone who cared about their property or who wanted to be a good host...it felt more like an abandoned- albeit beautiful- hunting cabin that we happened upon. Unfortunately, we can't recommend staying here.
