The home has 213 FEET OF LAKE MICHIGAN WATER FRONTAGE at the mouth of the Grand Traverse Bay. The vaulted ceiling Great Room is a perfect place to relax and enjoy all the beauty of Nature with 180 degree view of the Bay. Sunsets every single night of the year! The home overlooks the Leelanau Peninsula and the Fox Islands. At night you can see the light house at Leelanau State Park flickering in the distance. The Petoskey Stone Fireplace is a touch of "Up North" charm for you to examine in case you don't find any on our own stretch of beach.
The kitchen has gas stove, counter depth fridge, Kitchen Aid mixer, quartz countertops and and 8 ft island to prep meals. It has a four seater barstool area and overlooks the dining room and Great Room.
Bedrooms have linens, quilts and closets. Every room has a view of the lake so you can wake up and your mind can start wandering outside.
The home is located in the quaint village of Norwood, just 8 miles south of Charlevoix and 45 minutes north of Traverse City. You can get to Mackinac Island, a plethora of golf courses, fruit stands, wineries, Sleeping Bear Dunes, Castle Farms within an hours drive!
Just one flight of stairs and you are on the beach! Our 213 foot beach has mostly sand and a few rocks and is very private. The water is crystal blue and nature is at its best. The home is located on a secluded, dead end road which offers some of the finest views for casual walks and wildlife viewing. Bald eagles, loons, swans, and hawks are seen daily! There is a county park a half mile north which connects to Fisherman's Island State Park. There is a wooded lot (which we also own) north of the house which adds to your privacy and buffers your from neighbors. If you are a boater, you can drop in your boat at various launch sites in Lake Charlevoix, Torch Lake or 1/4 mile down the road at the Norwood Park (for Lake Michigan boating).
The home has four queen bedrooms, sleeping loft with two twin beds and finished basement also with two twin beds. There is a main floor oversized bathroom and also a brand new large bathroom in the basement.
There is a solid pine picnic table and deck set, Anti-Gravity Chairs, charcoal grill for outdoors and a foosball table in the basement rec room. Also Cornhole, and Ladderball for outside gaming.
OUTDOOR HOT WATER SHOWER on the beach makes rinsing off from the beach (or taking a morning shower!) very convenient and unique. Numerous renters (and ourselves) have showered and seen the local bald eagles flying by for their morning meal. A peaceful, unbelievable experience...
There are so many things to do closeby: shopping, boating, plenty of excellent golf courses, or just relax in the hammock and listen to the water lap up on shore! Come and enjoy northern Michigan at its finest.
