A true French experience in St Chinian

Situated in the Languedoc/Hérault region of southern France, St Chinian is a delightful small village with a truly authentic local atmosphere. It is surrounded by hills and mountains with vineyards as far as the eye can see which produce some of France's finest wines. St Chinian is the center of the wine cooperative which includes local vineyard farms from 20 towns. In fact, the wine tasting salon is located next door to this apartment! Also in the town are several bakeries, butcher shops and two super markets. From the window of the apartment one can view the large town square where open food and flea markets are held on Thursday's and Sunday's. There are also several restaurants and bars/cafes but we were there off season so not all were open. We did enjoy The Villages restaurant and would recommend it for their food and service. The area also offers abundant opportunity for hiking and bicycling at every level of expertise. The tourist information office was very helpful with maps and guidance to local attractions. There are several very interesting towns and villages, historical as well as scenic, within short drives from St Chinian. The apartment owners, Fredérique and Graham, were very gracious hosts. The apartment is spacious, clean and unique in rustic style. The private rooftop terrace provided spectacular views and a great location for sunning. The apartment was equipped with basic amenities. More cookware and utensils in the kitchen would be helpful for taking advantage of the market offerings and cooking in. We do recommend this property and would return for another visit, with any luck perhaps a longer stay.

Superbe appartement au cœur de Saint-chinian!

Pour une première visite dans le département d'Hérault, nous avons bien apprécié! L'appartement était tel qu'indiqué sur l'annonce et Fréderique était là pour nous accueillir. La communication avec elle était très bien. Tout est disponible et fonctionnel dans l'appartement. Il y a beaucoup d'espace et de grandes fenêtres en plus d'une terrasse privée sur le toit où on peut admirer la région. Il y a tout pour cuisiner, il y a une laveuse pour le linge, douches et salles de bains. Il y a toujours un stationnement accessible sur la ruelle et on est à deux pas de la place centrale! On y trouve régulièrement des marchés, mais aussi toutes les nécessités tels qu'un boucher, coiffure, poste, banque, épicerie, restaurants,... Très facile de visiter la région aussi avec la plage à 30 mins, Béziers à 20 mins et plusieurs rivières pour se baigner très proche. Nous avons bcp apprécié notre séjour avec les enfants (2 et 5 ans) et nous recommandons à tous. À la prochaine!

A great week in Saint-Chinian!

Our family (of five) stayed for one week in this great apartment in the lovely little town of Saint-Chinian. If we hadn't already booked the next destination we absolutely would have wanted to stay longer. The apartment included everything that we needed and we especially appreciated the roof top where we could have a barbeque or just relax with a glass of local wine in the evenings. Close to the apartment there is nice restaurants, a nice little plaza with markets some days and also a supermarket where you can buy most of what you need. The owners where extremely friendly and took really well care of us during the week - everything from answering questions to inviting us to local restaurants. Thanks to them we had a wonderful week in France. The fact that they speak English was also a plus! Close to Saint-Chinian there are lots of bigger and smaller villages that you can travel around to and the Mediterranean sea is just about 20-25 minutes away with some great beaches and towns. The area is loaded with wine growers so everywhere you go you can see the beautiful sight of vineyards.

Appartement magnifique

2 semaines de vacances formidables dans un appartement magnifique avec poutres en bois apparentes une cuisine plus grande que ma propre maison, des chambres rustiques et deux salles de bain super equipees, bref un enchantement ..
