We recently stayed at the cottage during winter break and had an amazing time. The listing doesn’t fully capture how wonderful the house is! We were pleasantly surprised by how well-stocked and prepared it was for guests. The location is perfect—close to all the major tourist attractions, yet situated in a quiet neighborhood. We particularly enjoyed the outdoor fireplace, as well as the cozy indoor electric fireplace. It was also great to have extra towels, bed sheets, and even a blow-up mattress, which made our stay even more convenient and stress-free.We traveled with another family, and they stayed in the cottage right next door. Both cottages are owned by the same owner and have the same layout, which allowed us to enjoy shared space while still maintaining privacy when we needed it.Overall, we truly loved our stay and highly recommend this property!
This was our first time going to Dahlonega. We loved the cabin and it had everything we could possibly need. We loved using the fire pit to roast marshmallows with the provided roasting sticks and fire wood. The gas logs were extremely nice on the cold nights! We were able to enjoy the Lighting of the Square in Downtown Dahlonega, which was beautiful. Joy was very easy to communicate with and always responded quickly. There were 6 of us (4 adults and 2 kids) and we all had a great time!
This location was great! You are 2 minutes from Doghobble and 5 minutes from Cavendar. Kaya and other wineries are close too! The place itself was VERY clean and had everything you needed. The firepit was a bonus! Ubereats delivers as well! Great stay!!!
This our third time staying at the Cottages. Everything is immaculately clean, and the property is private with outdoor firepit. Centrally located to downtown Dahlonega and the multitude of wineries in the area. We will be back!!
This house is so cute, clean and set up for a great little stay! You are a little out there but my husband and I loved having the privacy and quietness of the county night.
We seen deer and turkeys in the yard, enjoys going to the amazing North Georgia Wildlife Park.
The hostess was so sweet and had a sweet sign waiting for us. We would love to retune with the kids one day.
Thank you
What a wonderful place to stay near Dahlonega. This has to be the cleanest rental we’ve ever experienced. It was just perfect for our family of 3. We look forward to visiting again!
What a great property! It was so clean, comfortable and quiet (other than an occasional rooster crowing - but it didn't bother us at all). We loved this property so much that we ended up renting it again the following weekend. We look forward to staying again when we return to Dahlonega.
The cottage was perfect for us four adults. We enjoyed the fire pit and it wasn’t too far from downtown Dahlonega. The beds are soft, not firm. That was the only thing we were not accustomed to. Joy was very easy to get in touch with and made sure we had what we needed.
My friend and I got away for a weekend to visit Dahlonega. The cabin is beautiful and lacked for NOTHING. It was spotless, clearly well maintained, and so cozy. Could not have asked for more.
My husband and I stayed in this adorable cabin over the weekend for a wedding in Cleveland. The cabin was perfect for us! It was clean, carefully appointed, nestled in the woods, and was close to both Cleveland and Dahlonega. We would definitely stay again and bring our children.
Everything about this property was perfect for us as a couple to share with friends. It was clean and well cared for. The location is close to town and wineries. We enjoyed the fire pit at night and the back deck all day long. It was very comfortable and provided all the comforts of home. Thank you!
Our bride-to-be wanted a mountain getaway for her bachelorette weekend. LoneBear cottage was perfect for our group and was in a great location for all our weekend activities which included a spa day at the square in Dahlonega, hiking to Preacher's Rock, and visiting several local wineries. The cottage was beautiful, very clean, and the owners were great to work with providing quick communication with any questions we had!
It is always a pleasure returning to Lonebear cottage. Comfortable in every way. The hosts have provided everything we need for a short or longer stay.
Clean, and comfortable home with deck and porch. In the woods, yet not far from Dahlonega center, Cleveland, Dawsonville and all the surrounding mountains to explore. Friendly and easy communication with owners. Easy in and out booking process.
South Carolina family
This is our second time staying at LoneBear Cottage 1. This is an area close to other family members.
We enjoy all the beauty of the North Georgia Mountain areas.
We are looking at our calendar again to come back soon!

My husband, Bill and I have been in Dahlonega for over 22 years. We have 4 adult children, all married with wonderful spouses, and we have 5 grandchildren and another one on the way. My husband and I both continue to work and enjoy traveling when we get the time, gardening, concerts and projects around our house!
Why they chose this property
Bill and I looked for several years before we landed on this perfect property. We decided to build 2 cottages, but with enough distance between them to ensure privacy for both cottages. The location is convenient to many attractions in our area but very private.
What makes this property unique
This area is quiet and peaceful - perfect for a weekend get-a-way or a week trip to the mountains. We included everything that we enjoy in our own home - a back deck to sit and enjoy the early mornings or late evenings, a fire pit for those brisk, fall nights and a nice fire place when you don't want to get outdoors.
There are many family activities in this area as well. Here are a few - Appalachian Outfitters Dahlonega (canoegeorgia.com) canoeing, tubing and kayaking. (8.9 mi) North GA Petting Zoo - Cleveland, GA (3.7 mi) Babyland General (Cabbage Patch Dolls) Cleveland, GA (8.9 mi) Chestatee Wildlife Preserve Zoo, Dahlonega, GA (9.2 mi) Gold Museum - Dahlonega, GA (8.9 mi) Gold panning (kids love this!) Crisson Gold Mine (8.4 mi) and Consolidated Gold Mine (8.6 mi) - both in Dahlonega.
