Secluded Cabin + Guest House with *Private Dock' at West End of Lake Taneycomo
A picturesque site at the 'Deep Water Chute' on Lake Taneycomo about a mile down from Table Rock Dam. Secluded across from 200 foot bluffs with massive oaks shading covered porches and decks. The primary residence cabin has 3br & 2baths, is fully appointed and provisioned, including Cable/WiFi. Adjacent to the main residence, connected by decks is a two room bungalow 'guest house' with separate mini=kitchen and full bath. The bungalow has just been redone from the floods in January 2016. Ample deck furniture including grill and 'porch swings are available. There is ample parking for as many cars as needed as well as a high double carport space for campers or motorhomes. From the deck, there are about ten steps to the large dock with a wide slip which will accommodate guest's 'trailered boat' or a boat rented from Trout Lodge Marina just 200 yards downstream. There is a public access boat-launch just 200 yards upstream from the residence. This quiet and beautiful setting is as good as it gets for a 'Trout Fishing Experience on famous Taneycomo. Of course just up the hill is The College of the Ozarks with their award winning upscale Keeter Center Restaurant. Just down the street across from Trout Lodge, is Gilberti's Italian and at the top of the hill you will find McDonalds, Country Mart Sonic, etc. The residence is about a mile down the hill from College of the Ozarks which is immediately at the Hollister exit. The 'Strip/76' exit is just 4 minutes away and The Landing' only 5 minutes away either by I-65 or the back way through downtown Hollister.

We will definetly stay again had a great time. Host was available anytime we needed. Had a great spot on the water and not far from Branson we loved it!
Could use some additional cookware. Beds were comfortable and clean. Not fancy place but would definitely stay again.

Eight of us went and the place was so comfy cozy and had room for all of us. Rustic log cabin on the lake and a big porch to watch the morning fog come in on the water. So peaceful! We loved that it was a rustic setting, no glitz, but just what we wanted to make it so comfortable. We hope to come back next year if schedules allow.
I’ve never left a bad review of anything but feel obligated to warn future tenants. We arrived with no check in information. There were two cars in the driveway when we arrived with nobody around. All doors were unlocked upon arrival and when we walked in there were full trash cans, dirty dishes in the sink, every bed was dirty and unmade, dogfood on the floors, dog hair everywhere, and a heap of wet towels in the bathroom. The second smaller house on the property was also dirty and smelled so bad that we were unable to stay in it. It smelled like something(s) was dead in the wall or under the house. We attempted to reach out to the host with no answer on the provided number and no returned messages for hours. Not knowing what to do we did 7 loads of laundry so we could sleep that night. The host did message us later that they would comp us for a hotel room that night or cancel our reservation. We already had kids asleep at that point and that wasn't an option. Sometime during the first night, both cars were moved from the property. Aside from the general dirtiness of the whole property, there were several broken chairs, mirrors, door handles, and windows. The porch and walkway down to the dock has several broken or near broken boards that were unsafe to walk on. The setting of this property and the view of the river is beautiful and if kept up would be an incredible place to stay. Unfortunately, our experience with this house and host was not good.
This place was perfect for our family. The house is older but still a great place to stay. The property is beautiful and the location is awesome. Definitely a perfect place for people who like to fish. We had an awesome stay all around. The only thing I'd suggest is maybe getting some pillow toppers for the beds. Other than that, everything was perfect for us.
Nice quite place on the river only real problem was A musty smell in your house and needs a pest control company to spray for bugs they are everywhere which is common for a river house but could use a monthly spray. Also a electric lock on the door instead of a key.
My family of 6 really loved the view of the lake from the back deck. The house was nice & clean. My son and his wife enjoyed staying in the small cabin and had their privacy. Short drive to town. Could have used a dresser in the room with twin beds to put clothes in other than that everything was great.

Lovely view!
Overall our stay was great! Picturesque view! The deck was a great place to hang out and relax. Plenty of room for several people to stay. I will say that it could have used some extra cleaning and airing out before our arrival. There was an odor that was not pleasant to smell in the main bedroom and bathroom.
But we had a nice time regardless.
Great location "Butt..." Very Poorly Maintained Property
The owners check in instructions they send 24 hours before arrival reads: "IF THIS FURTHER DESCRIPTION OF THE PROPERTY, THAT IT IS “AN OLDER, NICE, BUT WORN CABIN IS NOT WHAT YOU HAVE HOPED FOR…….PLEASE CANCEL AND BOOK ONE OF THE NEW GLITZY EXTENDED FAMILY PROPERTIES WITH UPSCALE SUBURBAN AMENITIES
After arrival we found and older very worn cabin. It appears there has been little or no maintenance of this property. Very dirty, bugs everywhere, cobb webs everywhere, light bulbs burnt out, TVs in both buildings don't work, ROKU not working, DVD not working BBQ grill does not work, patio heater does not work. The one thing we did enjoy was the new firepit after we removed all the built up leaves off deck and pit area. We have stayed at fish camps and hunting camps that were better maintained than this property. We definitely cannot recommend this property to friends or family when there are many more properties, we have stayed at in the past, within a mile for rent at similar cost.
Title: A Dreamy Getaway - A Review of VRBO Property
Rating: ★★★★★ (5/5)
We had the pleasure of staying at this VRBO property, and I must say, it was an absolute perfect Thanksgiving getaway.
First and foremost, the location was simply breathtaking. Nestled near the College of Ozark
surrounded by stunning natural beauty, this property offered a serene and peaceful ambiance. that instantly made us feel at home. The log cabin look had a rustic charm that was both cozy and quaint.
The kitchen was fully equipped with everything we needed to prepare our Thanksgiving meal.
The outdoor space was perfect! We felt like we were in the wilderness yet we were only 1.8 miles away from the grocery store.
I didn't expect the ritz, but I'm still not fully satisfied with what I paid for. If you don't mind ruffin' it a bit you will be fine. The beds seemed clean and the backyard was picturesque. However, if you plan on using the smaller cabin, there is no hot water. The wifi does not work. We also saw a handful of roaches in both cabins during our stay. I would not rebook unless the property owner puts some money back into this place. It was overall filthy, a lot of things were broken, and we found quite a few nails and screws in the gravel drive. Not to mention I reached out to the Property Manager the day of because they forgot to send us check-in instructions. It could be a nice getaway, but it needs a lot of TLC.

Rustic cabin
If your looking for clean home perfection not your place. Furniture old had holes and cushions didn't fit. WIFI was a hotspot you shared with neighbors. Toilets had issues wouldn't flush used a pitcher from kitchen to fill tank. Owner stated he corrected thing as well as he could. Washer rinse cycle didn't work. We did come for the fishing it didn't disappoint. Patio cushions cover with duck poop. Its rustic and way over priced.
A very nice location. A/C was locked on 72 degrees, we couldn't turn it up so it did get rather cold.
Couldn't figure the TV out so we could only get the Food Network channel, but we weren't there to watch tv anyway.
Wifi wasn't available but phones worked better outside on the deck. All in all it was a very nice set-up and we enjoyed our stay! The guest house door would not latch or lock.
We were a group of 8 family members that live far from each other and met in Branson as a halfway point and this cabin and guest house suited our needs perfectly. I will not lie, the more recent reviews had us a bit nervous about our stay but it was too late to back out so we decided to go ahead and make do with what we had booked.
However, when we got there we were PLEASANTLY surprised. The location was stunning and both the main cabin and guest house were clean and had no issues. Is it a new build with the latest and greatest? Not at all. It’s a rustic cabin on the water with the quirks you would expect from an older cabin on the water with what we considered a great cost. Our fisher men and women loved being able to fish off the property and many of us enjoyed sitting on the dock daring each other to put our feet into the surprisingly cold water. And we had plenty of room for the kids to run around and be kids. All in all it was the perfect spot for our family to meet and spend time together while also being close to Branson to do activities.

Totally Disappointed/Won’t return
The place hadn’t been cleaned and there was no heat! There was trash and dirty dishes from previous tenants and there was actually hair all over the shower wall. No trash bags or toilet paper we had to go buy. So disappointed as the lake view is awesome but not worth the rest. We will be finding another lake view
Great location, a good cleaning and some maintenance would make this a good place to stay.
Neither TV worked
Front bath room door would not close, back bathroom door would not latch.
Patio roof leaks.
Rotten boards on patio, lots of rotten boards on dock.
Picture window broken, held together with tape.
No response from owner.
