Well Located

Loved the location. Very convenient to restaurants, bars, shopping. The unit was well appointed and clean. The only reason for not 5 stars were the roaches in the sink and on the counter. We're from the south and used to some roaches, but there were a lot here--alive and dead.

Quant house

We loved this property. It was such a cute house and so close to all the action. The beds are very comfortable and it was so clean. We ordered our groceries ahead of time and they had them in the house and even white wine chilling in the fridge. We had an awesome girls weekend in Charleston and cannot wait to come back.

Old couple friends trip

Overall the property was located close to restaurants and clean. . The area was very noisy though late at night. We had a parking spot but would advise a small car, parking was very difficult. The bath-tub shower was very difficult to get in and out of.

Clean and historic

We loved the property however we arrive the night after the riots. The city was pretty much shut down with windows boarded up and a few people on the street. It was my husband and son’s first time in Charleston and I really wish they could’ve gotten a better glimpse of what the city is all about. The property itself is lovely. We loved it!

Fun time

We appreciated the location. We easily found our way to restaurants, shopping, and historic sites. We loved the nostalgic atmosphere of the property and its quirky yet charming furnishings and fittings. We enjoyed walking to downtown Charleston and found it quite doable. We appreciated the accommodations despite some minor unfixable issues, such as the tight parking and driveway which was difficult when other renters’ cars were present. We appreciated the conveniences Duvet provided, soaps, tp, detergents, etc. We would stay here again.

The property was very nice. It was convenient to walking downtown.

When we arrived the temperature was very high in the upstairs (There were two zones). I called the owners & they helped right away. They had someone over to fix the issue. I would rent from them again.

Excellent Experience!

Our family had a great time at this property. It is by far the best VRBO we have ever stayed in. We found the house to be exactly as advertised. It was clean, very welcoming, and beautifully decorated. The location cannot be beaten. We were able to walk everywhere we wanted to be. You have to visit Five Loaves for lunch across the street. It was great! Thank you Fiske for sharing your lovely home and being so accommodating to our needs. It has been our pleasure and we cannot wait to come back very soon.

Wonderful!!

This house turned out to be more perfect for our bachelorette trip than I could have ever imagined. The pictures do not do the elegance of house justice and the was more than enough room and commodities to keep all 4 of us happy. It was a 5 minute walk to anything we wanted to do, restaurants, bars, shopping. And not just Fast Food and Dive bars; facilities fit for a bachelorette party. I could not be more satisfied with our expirience! Thank you!!

Great, roomy location

The location of this property is great. They have done a lovely job decorating this property. We stayed here with friends and our dog for our annual trip. We walked almost everywhere from this spot. It was a short drive to beaches on Sullivan Island and the Mt. Pleasant area (which has great on-the-water spots for outdoor dining). One thing to note is that if you are not used to city noise, you may want to sleep in the room with the noise-canceling machine! It did not bother us that we did not have one in our room but our friends said they used it. The unit was well stocked and had almost everything we needed. I would definitely stay there again.

Very noisy street!

The street was extremely noisy. I would recommend finding another place. There is no consideration for a place to put your soap and shampoo in either shower. You must put them at the bottom of the tub which is extremely frustrating.

Very Clean, close to King Street and the Free Bus

The property was very clean. Loved the comfortable beds and great showers, especially for an older house. We were pleased to find out the house was 3 blocks from the shuttle bus that took you all over the historic downtown, and the bus was free. The street the house is located on is a pretty busy street. Also, some of the houses on the street are still undergoing renovations. We enjoyed the restaurants that are in the neighborhood. You can hear the street noise in the main bedroom, but there is a white noise machine in each of the bedrooms. The manager of the house was very responsive and helpful too. Nice to have a washer and dryer available.

Good & Not so Good

The apartments location was good, close to bars and restaurants on King Street. Large trucks are difficult to park but the Property management company was extremely helpful in resolving that problem. If you're an older person, the clawfoot tubs are difficult to get in and out of. The neighborhood was noisy which made it difficult to sleep. The entrance sidewalk was dangerous and in desperate need of repair.

Downtown Charleston

We enjoyed our stay in this property. It was close to many points of interest in the city. This apartment is located where many college students live and close to the medical school. The street noise could be heard inside the house at times but the bedrooms had noise machines to help with that at night. We walked to a few places to eat while here. There are several cafes and restaurants within walking distance. The house itself was clean, had everything we needed for a comfortable stay. The bedrooms and bathrooms are located upstairs so if you have problems with climbing stairs that may not work but it was fine for us. There is one parking space for this apartment which was fine for us. It was a bit tight for our vehicle and if you had a bigger car or suv it may be a problem. Overall this apartment was perfect for our needs.

Bathrooms

The biggest complaint with this property there is no 1st floor bathroom so you have to climb stairs to use the bathroom. 2nd the upstairs bathrooms do not have a regular shower, instead it is a claw tub with shower curtains surrounding the tub. The tub sits high and it is hard to step up and into the tub, this would not be good for older people. Also the shower does not have a place to set your shampoos and soaps you have to keep them on the bottom of the tub and bend over to reach them. The location of the home is close to the college so there are a lot of younger people around in the area and some of them can be loud. Other than these things, our stay was good.
