60th wedding Anniversary

Brilliant family accommodation, very spacious and very well equipped. Huge enclosed grounds and excellent swimmiing pool. Tracy our host was always on hand as and when we had queries about the house or local amenities and her recommendation about Buckets resturant was particularly a boost.

Great holiday villa

Had a great 2 weeks here. The house was perfect for two families, with excellent kitchen and living room and en suites in all but one room. Good pool and grounds but most important - the owner couldn’t have been more friendly and helpful, not only day to day but also literally going the extra mile when our car broke down. Can definitely recommend.

Fabulous Gem for family enjoyment

Tracy the owner made our stay fabulous. The property was much larger than the pictures tried to show. There are endless areas to enjoy a very quiet time. The pool area and the backyard are amazing. The house is very large and very well suited. The fireplace was a bonus for all of us to enjoy. Many details in the kitchen, the amenities were numerous and welcomed. Kudos to Tracy, who could be reached and responded very quickly to few basic questions. Thank you Tracy! You gave us the opportunity for my family to share this wonderful gem. Your kindness and humor enlighted our wonderful memories. Kudos, definititely recommended.

Great Host

A lovely home, perfect for multiple couples or large families. We stayed in Tracy's home just a short walk from the small village of Saint Martin de Gurson. In the village is a great Boulangerie with a very nice owner. This home is also close to Saint Emillion, which you definitely must visit. The home has 5 bedrooms all with ensuites which was perfect for our group. And a 6th bedroom with no ensuite. Great outdoor spaces and a very nice kitchen. The kitchen is large for European standards. We enjoyed the pool. But the most important thing about this VRBO is Tracy the host. She communicated extremely well with check in information and gave us great recommendations for the area. I highly recommend staying in this home.

Beautiful house in the country

The property was lovely and spacious, plenty of space for 6 adults and three roaming toddlers. Beautiful setting with large garden and clean warm gated pool, with loads of garden toys to keep the kids (and adults!) entertained. Tracy was so welcoming, always available but never intrusive. We had a wonderful get together after two years of not being able to holiday. Thanks so much for a great stay!

A wonderful place for a nice holiday with one large family or two families. A well equipped accommodation! Lots of toys present outside and inside (diapers, role playing clothes, cars, books etc.). The hostess is taking excellent care of the pool. Lovely markets in the surrounding area, wine tastings in nearby chateaus and the wonderful landscape ensured we enjoyed ourselves. We would like to come back!

Excellent house, grounds and facilities

Tracy provided us with a perfect house, grounds and facilities for our family holiday. All 6 adults, one 18 yr old and 3 children (10, 8, 5) had a wonderful time. The house was exceptional, very comfortable and overly provided with dining-kitchenware and utensils; wonderful pool and grounds for us to all chase around.......the work involved in preparing everything for the next guests is very extensive and Tracy is to be congratulated on such a high standard. Highly recommended.

A wonderful family holiday

We spent a wonderful week at this property and would happily visit again. As an extended family group, including 3 children under 3, this was an excellent house with everything we could need. The garden is very child friendly, as is the pool with the fence and alarm system. We had some lovely dinners out on the decking and enjoyed exploring the local area. The host Tracy was on hand to help out with any enquiries we had, helping to arrange taxis and recommending lots of things in the local area. Thanks again for a wonderful week!

A brilliant family holiday!

We had the most enjoyable stay at Le Peyrat. We were a three generation family, celebrating a special anniversary. The lovely, spacious house accommodated our big family group brilliantly. Although the weather was extremely hot, the house and grounds and especially the much appreciated pool provided us with areas of shade and places to keep cool. Tracy was so helpful and made us feel at home. The meal cooked by the chef Marc on our last evening was a highlight. We also enjoyed trips to St Emilion, Bergerac and local markets. This is place where memories are made. We would highly recommend.

A celebration stay

The property was excellent with so many items provided for the children from toys to DVDs to the garden to the swimming pool. Our contact with Tracy was the best experience that we have ever had with an owner - we could not have asked for better response and attention. Tracy was able to liaise with Mark over a special dinner. Mark was excellent - the food was amazing and one of our party commented that the duck was the best that he had ever tasted. Mark also provided local wines - at our request - and these were also delicious. All in all this was the best self catering experience that we have ever had and I would no hesitation in recommending the property to anybody. Thank you Tracy.

Vacation

Enjoyed our time at this property with integrated rustic wood beams and natural exposed stone. The kitchen is well-equipped for preparing and cooking meals. The large fridge/freezer provided for ample food storage and the dishwasher made easy work of the clean-up (laundry machine was located close by with utility sink). The adjacent dining room is perfect for long multi-course dinners with wine (plenty of wine glasses and decanters were also available). The living room is comfortable with couches and a nice TV system with plenty of available channels to select from. There are also numerous board games available to play. There were plenty of bedrooms to select from, with one on the first floor and others upstairs with bathrooms. Outside there are many options for spending time with friends and family. A deck with seating, the heated pool, a covered seating area, a table tennis table, and more. Unfortunate we didn't have too much opportunity to utilize these wonderful features due to a patch of rainy weather but certainly the options are there when the weather is fine. The home is located just outside a small village so is very peaceful and relaxing. Lots of open fields and quiet roads for walking / cycling. We had a vehicle to use while staying at the house. This worked great as it allowed us to visit many local villages / markets, points of interest, chateau / wineries, restaurants (highly recommend Buckets as a place to reserve lunch / dinners), etc. Thx Tracy!

Family birthday celebration at Le Peyrat

The house and grounds were beautiful and perfect for a family. Apart from visiting a local lake we spent an idyllic week swimming and enjoying the garden. The children were never bored and loved the outdoor play area. The adults played table tennis and relaxed in the excellent outdoor seating areas. It was so relaxing and absolutely perfect. The host worked tirelessly to ensure our stay was perfect, keeping the pool sparkling and lawn mowed but was never intrusive. Complimentary bottles of wine on arrival and milk in the fridge. We arranged for a local chef, Marc, to cook the birthday meal and it was indescribably good. I will hesitate to do anything similar in the future because I don’t see how anything could come close. Mark cooked an amazing meal, served it and cleared up. It was incredible value. All in all an unforgettable stay. Thank you Tracy for allowing us to stay in your home and thank you to Mark for making our celebration perfect Vivienne Pearson

Holiday Property that has everything.

A Lovely Relaxing Holiday Had a amazing time in Le Peyrat. This property has everything you need to have the perfect Holiday with the family. The House is beautifully designed. With a large well equipped kitchen and dining area. The living room was large and comfortable and easily catered for our family. Bedrooms were beautiful and spacious with really good quality mattresses… Garden areas ( which there are many ) were stunning and well maintained. There were so many areas to either sit out and dine or to find quiet spots to relax. In addition, there is so many things to do in the garden to keep the kids occupied. Swimming pool is wonderful with plenty of sun loungers and Parasols Tracey the property owner was always available when needed and nothing was ever to much to ask. Tracy’s recommendations for restaurants were outstanding. The food was incredible. We have stayed in many Holiday Homes throughout France over the years and this property is the best we have stayed in by some distance. I really cant recommend this property enough. We had such a good time and loved every minute of it. We are hoping to go back next year. Peter Jones

Fabulous house and garden in the heart of beautiful countryside

This was the perfect house for us- an extended family of 12 people including grandparents, teenagers and the littlest one of 8 yrs. The property is spacious with en suite bathrooms for all the adults and loads of room for the kids. The garden is huge and beautifully kept- and the trampoline and table tennis were a huge hit with the kids! There were little corners of the garden to lose everyone if you needed a bit of peace and quiet too, but the pool was great, surrounded by pretty flowers and shrubs, but with plenty of sunbathing space too. The property was spotlessly clean, and the kitchen contained everything you could need to cook for a big family- although the evening we hired the local chef was fantastic and great value! We mainly stayed around the house and pool, but we did find time to go paddle boarding at the lac de Gurson which was brilliant with a really nice cafe and very clean toilets! We also went to the night market at Le Pizou on Tracy’s recommendation- arriving at 6.30 as she suggested. We had a fabulous evening with fantastic local food and entertainment! We honestly couldn’t fault this beautiful property and would love to return one day. Tracy was so helpful with anything we needed, but never obtrusive in way at all. Just a brilliant holiday!

A wonderful week...

We stayed at Le Peyrat during the summer of 2008. Our group consisted of three couples and four kids. We drove to the gite from Calais in approximately 12 hours with the necessary kiddie related stops. We arrived, found Le Peyrat easily and parked up. The very helpful owners Tracy and Brian showed us around the house and explained all the necessities and then left us alone (in a good way!) throughout the time we were there. The house is clean, tidy, spacious and well laid out. The ground floor rooms, lounge, dining area and kitchen were all populated with the right amount of clean and comfortable furniture. Sky television was available although we hardly used it… The pool is a highlight of the property. The pool area catches the sun and proved to be a favourite hangout during the day – the deck at the side of the house was popular during the evening as it provided a pleasant place for the grown ups to loiter but still within ear shot of the sleeping youngsters upstairs. We used the services of a local chef who came to the house to cook a wonderful meal for us all. If you stay here I would definitely recommend you get him to visit at least once. We delayed booking him until near the end of our week there and regretted it… It would be superb to arrive at Le Peyrat having arranged for him to cook on your first night leaving you to concentrate on recovering from the journey and emptying a few bottles of the local wine. Tracy and Brian were very helpful when one of our party became ill and needed to find a local doctor. With our poor grasp of the French language we were very glad of Tracy’s help to make an appointment with a local doctor who patched up our travelling companion in no time. Ask Tracy and Brian to arrange a walk around of their friends local vineyard – and you should definitely visit the Bergerac market. I will definitely be going back to Le Peyrat given the opportunity.

Host profile image
I’ve called France my home for 22 years moving here from Yorkshire, England with my husband and 3 month old son. I worked as an accountant in the Uk but decided quality of life was far more important and chose to spend quality time with my family in this idyllic corner of the French countryside. I’ve never looked back and I have been hosting for 17 years and truly enjoy meeting people from around the world helping them to explore this beautiful diverse region of France.

Why they chose this property

To be truly honest it was just by luck, we had enjoyed years of fabulous holidays at our friend’s home in the Provence and always dreamed of moving to France . A friend introduced us to this region and we fell in love with it immediately. Our initial impression was how green the countryside was and its diversity from rolling hills, forests and of course the endless vineyards from Bergerac to Saint Emilion . We loved how central it was for the local towns, city of Bordeaux and even for visits to the beautiful west coast beaches . It was a perfect choice of area for us as a family and it has been such a pleasure sharing Le Peyrat with all the amazing people we have met over the last 17 years.

What makes this property unique

We renovated Le Peyrat with the consideration of multi generational groups travelling. As a parent I was aware that travelling with young children can prove complicated , Le Peyrat caters for all age of children from small children to teenagers. We have lots of toys, games and dressing up clothes for the little ones and area for them to play inside when the weather is hot. Outside after spending time in the pool the garden offers a shaded play area with trampoline and tree house. My theory is if children are happy , safe and occupied , parents and grandparents can relax . There are many quiet areas in the garden making this possible . The house is set up so everyone has their own bathroom. This has proved very popular with my guests , giving everyone their own private space especially if a large group is staying .
One of our most popular attractions for large groups with children has been our chef Marc who can cook at the house if guests would like to relax while their little ones are sleeping . Marc is also going to offer a wine tasting experience and cooking lessons at the house from 2025 onwards.
