Central sweet steep stairs
We loved everything about staying here except for the steep stairs. The place is as pictured, its position in relation to everything we wanted in Ypres - Menin gate, restaurants, supermarket, park, cathedral was excellent and the accommodation worked well for our family with its 3 bedrooms and bathroom with extra toilet downstairs, dishwasher, good internet etc. The only problem was the steepness of the stairs which did rather terrify the 2 fit 80 year olds! It wasnt climbing them we feared (we exercise a lot) it was falling down so had to hold tight to the handrail - which was good as it was on 2 sides - and minimise trips to the bedrooms! We would stay there again but maybe not when we are 90.

Ideal Location
Central location everywhere in the Town is a short walk, including free parking. Property was ideal for our stay with everything we needed on hand . Good communication with Owner throughout booking and our arrival, checking to see anything we needed during our stay. Would stay here again.

Wonderful location. Lovely Property.
Wonderful location. Lovely Property. Only downside is the extremely steep stairs to get to the various floors. Can be difficult to get suitcases up and down. That being said, we had a very nice time there and highly recommend.

Fantastic location, very close to the City centre. Well equipped and clean property with a very nice kitchen and spacious bedrooms. Free parking is nearby if arriving by car. Website states check in from 5PM and just call thirty minutes before but the key holder expects check in between 5pm and 7pm. If that is the case the website should state that. She seemed disappointed with our 2130 arrival as we got delayed by motorway traffic accidents. Also, despite paying in full for the property you are asked for 100 euros cash(she accepted 50 as I only had 65 in my pocket) when picking up the key. I found this to be slightly dishonest and underhand as its not mentioned on the website. I have no idea if this is normal in Belgium, she called it a "caution" but it would be nice to know about that in advance. The website states that children are welcome in the property but it is not suitable for children as the stairs are very steep. I would say that the property is only suitable for adults unless they fit baby gates to the top of the stairs.

Great location, great service, great stay!
We stayed 3 nights at this location with our two teen-aged children. Check-in was easy, the apartment was beautifully appointed with all the extras you might need - including good WIFI! It was about a 10 minute walk to the main square, with interesting shops, cafes and bistros along the way. The parking was easy and free. There is a steep set of stairs from the main floor to the floors with the bedrooms (2 bedrooms on the 2nd floor and an additional bedroom on the 3rd floor). The stairs weren't a problem for us, but if you have very small children or mobility problems, this might be tricky - not unlike many other European VRBOs we have rented in the past. The owners went above and beyond to help us solve a storage issue (we rented 4 tandem bicycles for a small group of travellers) and they were very helpful in finding a solution on where to park the bicycles safely (in their own personal garage a couple of blocks from the apartment!). Can't say enough good things about the apartment. Would go back again in a heartbeat.

Zeer verzorgd
Gunstig gelegen, zeer verzorgd en vriendelijke ontvangst. Parkeren om de hoek op openbare parkeerstrook langs de weg vanaf 09.00 uur met parkeerschijf. Veel toeristische informatie beschikbaar in het huis.

Great location!!!
The location was perfect - just off the main walking street - 2 minutes from the main square. Probably not suitable for people with small children or the very elderly as the 2 flights of stairs are more like ladders. Luc was warm and welcoming and the apartment was very clean.

Location and care
You can't beat the location with very easy walking distance to square and gate. Many thanks to Luc who helped us with our late baggage and late guests. Very helpful!!! The apartment was modern and VERY clean. Kitchen well stocked, apartment within walking distance of super grocery store.

Near to town
We stayed in August with myself and husband and two of our children, a 24 year old and a 17 year old. The town house is near to town itself so it is very easy to access the museum, coffee shops, tea rooms and restaurants without a car. We travelled to World War One sites and other museums which were only about a ten or 20 minute drive. The house was immaculate upon arrival with lots of towels, crockery and glasses with new fitments too. The only reason we haven't awarded a 5 star was we found the stairs a little steep but that is just us so I wouldn't let it put you off. We will return to Belgium it is a wonderful country.
