We utilized the grill, hot tub, patios, and all the amenities! Loved the cabin. The bathroom, specifically the shower were awesome! Definitely a great place to relax and slow down! Would go back again in a heart beat!!!
We loved this cabin! Just wish had more time in it.

Liked: Cleanliness, check-in, listing accuracy
Disliked: Location
Beautiful but lacking
Beautiful property, clean, comfortable, enjoyed the hot tub and gas fireplace. However; traffic and construction noise was disappointing, bath and beach towels were put in drawers and basket overly damp, had to rewash and dry! Kitchen pans were disgusting, for as much as charged a day would think you could afford new pans and more than one role of TP.
We really enjoyed our stay at this cabin. It’s in a really good location and it’s really pretty inside and out. Very close to Hochatown and the lake. Decor was nice and we enjoyed the hot tub.
That said. We had some issues with the cleanliness of the property.
The living room was very clean. As was the kitchen. However my initial impression of my bedside table in the bedroom was that it was dusty and it was very obvious they hadn’t removed the decor on top and briefly cleaned it. Upon further inspection the candelabras were covered in dust. To the point that I could legibly write on them. No big deal.
But then the next morning when we woke up to make coffee...coffee grounds and filter STILL IN THE COFFEE MACHINE from the previous guest!
Obviously I was not happy cleaning out someone else’s coffee grounds and messaged the property manager. No immediate response. But then she just showed up at the door about an hour later. Asked if there was anything she could do. I said no. Just that I wanted to relay these findings as feedback. I was given an explanation that they hadn’t realized the property needed to be cleaned d/t a scheduling error on their side and they had to rush to get it ready for us. Not sure how that was supposed to make me feel better?? Especially when I saw like a week worth of dust in multiple places.....(top of mantle, picture frames, light fixtures, decor, etc). And honestly. If we weren’t currently in a global pandemic I wouldn’t care. Mistakes happen. But if you’re going to continue to host guests during a pandemic, cleanliness should be a priority! And the coffee maker should be cleaned in between guests...I don’t wanna touch someone else’s day old coffee grounds. Gross.
Other than that we really enjoyed our stay! It is the perfect getaway for a couple. And we likely would return; when COVID isn’t an issue (since it’s clear we can’t trust the cabin to be cleaned very well). Hoping that based on this feedback it will be spotless for the next person :)
Other things to keep in mind if you’re going to stay here:
- there seems to be no bug prevention measures with regard to the back patio and mosquitos are like actively hanging out at the back door - bring bug spray!
- the trash bags are so flimsy that any box or hard plastic will rip them. Bring your own.
- No coasters (weird setting cups on the nice furniture)
-towels are scratchy. Bring your own if that bothers you.
Aside from that it was GREAT! :)
The cabin was beautiful and there were cleanliness issues that came up and property has responded with a partial refund but the payment system processing it could take up to 30 days for my credit card to be refunded. The VRBO fee was not refunded.
One thing you never want to hear after you have spent your first night in a cabin is that the service responsible for cleaning the hot tub in between guests was not done. That happened to us on this stay. I think VRBO should refund their fee for a night in consideration for how this made us feel. I understand this month is extremely busy and its hard to find a cabin that fits your desires but this one was available for 2 nights on short notice and it checked all our boxes. I just wish those responsible for cleaning would have been more respectful of each renter. This was my first time using VRBO for that area and in the future. I'll try to book direct with the cabin owners so that I don't pay a fee that's non refundable in the event of an issue and so that I don't have to wait 30 days for refund which means I'll probably pay interest.
We will definitely be coming back! This place was top notch and we enjoyed it so much! Only thing I would change is an upgrade on pillows and bathroom towels. So unless this changes, recommend bringing your own pillows!
