This place was exactly what we needed! It is secluded and we enjoyed walking the property. The kitchen was well stocked and there was plenty of space to spread out. The beds were cozy and and the hot tub and wood stove were much needed. Thank you for having us! We will definitely be back!
We had a few generations (my family, my parents, my brother and his kids) all staying in this house and it served us well. Roasting marshmallows outside was a big hit with the kids. The location and property were great- 25 minutes to the pass. Kids had a blast. Lots of beds and places for people to sleep. Kids loved the "old timey" tvs- which provided a great flashback to growing up in the early 90's. It was rad.Only suggestion would be to get new pots/pans (or bring your own pan) as the electric stove is flat and the pans all wobbled, which made it hard to cook evenly! Would go back, for sure!
The cabin was in a beautiful, secluded location, with easy access to Packwood. The hot tub was clean and well maintained. Would love to stay here again in the future!
My friends and I spent the weekend here and we had an amazing time!! It’s so clean, roomy, and entertaining. The kitchen was great for our group meals. There was plenty of bedding for all nine of us!! The hot tub was the highlight for us. We took a dip each day of our stay. I highly recommend this place and would likely visit again in the future!
It was amazing! The cabin was absolutely beautiful and all the amenities were perfect. Hot tu. Was delicious and the fire pit was great for late night. We were fortunate to be there during the Northern Lights and it was incredible!
It was fully equipped in the kitchen, rooms, dining/living room.
The only thing was the internet was a little slow.
Great place!
Our family of 5 rented this cabin with another close family of 4. The accomodations in the house were perfect for our home away from home! The upstairs bedroom had 5 twin beds and the two other bedrooms had king size beds that fit us all comfortably. We enjoyed the seclusion and space yet proximity to town and White Pass were definitely ideal!
House was perfect for 2 couples with extra room upstairs. Beds were comfortable and kitchen had everything we needed to cook full meals. Hot tub temp was right and jets worked perfectly for these achy muscles after a good snow shoe up at White Pass.
The bonus was watching the wandering herd of Elk pass through and hang out on the property.
We would definitely ruturn to this great getaway cabin.
We enjoyed the privacy, the hot tub and fire pit were a nice touch. The kitchen was reasonably well stocked - did appreciate the dish washing soap, sponges and paper towels. The internet was pretty weak - we had some folks who were trying to work remotely and it was not enough. I guess that is to be expected in a rural setting. We enjoyed the town of Packwood.
6 adults stayed with plenty of space. House is as described. Plenty of dishes, towels. Provided cleaning supplies (dawn, tide pods). Also had some general spices/oil in cabinents. Hot tub was hot and clean. Beds clean and made.
The wifi was very slow. Also, verizon service was not good either so make sure directions/maps are downloaded.
Overall would stay again if needed.
Great house on a spacious property. Kids enjoyed the electric keyboard, VCR (watched an old musical!), and the large bookcase full of Nat'l Geographic magazines - super cool. (White carpeting in much of the house, so leave your shoes in the utility hall near washer dryer.) Kitchen offered some spices, sugar, coffee.
The grocery in tiny Packwood is AMAZING - has EVERYTHING you might need, including a fine produce department and even excellent cheeses. Staff is friendly, the store is super clean, and must be incredibly organized - still don't understand how it seemed to carry everything you'd find at a full size supermarket but it was smaller than a Trader Joe's. Also in Packwood: a very nice brew pub, super chill with casual outdoor seating. (Street tacos were the best I've ever had.)
Closest entrance to the national park is very near Grove of the Patriarchs, a family friendly (easy) hike which is totally worth it. Several interesting plaques along the way describing these magnificent, ancient giants. And the suspension bridge you walk across to get there is cool.
Just across the street from that is a beautiful hike along a creek with waterfalls. A more strenuous hike because of the descent and the climb, but easy enough if you're in good shape.
My husband and I stayed here with our 4 young sons. The boys loved being able to have little adventures in the forest; they saw all kinds of wildlife. The mornings and evenings were so peaceful!
The house was very well maintained and stocked. The deck is huge, which was really convenient when trying to contain 4 little ones. The owners responded to my messages very quickly. The loft area is amazing! Giant bonus room with 2 couches, 3 twin beds, a dresser, a walk in closet, a TV, and a large bathroom. The whole place was very clean. Even under the deck. No spiderwebs or built up debris. You can tell the whole property is very well maintained.
The living room area gets very hot when the sun is beating down on it, even with the AC going, but it just forced us to spend more time outside. There are DVDs and VHSs stocked everywhere; lots of choices, but we couldn't get the DVD remote to work, so you couldn't rewind or fast forward. Those two things were probably the biggest issues, and they're so minor. It did not impact our stay at all.
Overall, I highly recommend staying here. I know we will definitely be back!
As I saw in some previous reviews, pictures do not do it justice. This is a beautiful, quiet, and private property. Town was about 5 minutes away and had anything we thought we might need or forgot. Packwood also has a brewery that was fun to visit.
The hot tub was a major highlight, as was the fire pit. Plenty of room for our Shepard to run and relax. We did have the elk come through one evening as well which was very exciting.
We let our older parents take each of the two downstairs rooms, and we pushed together a couple of the twins upstairs - although not very comfortable, we loved the big upstairs area with its own bathroom and sitting area with 2 couches, so we really had our own space. Everything was nice, rustic, nostalgic, and importantly clean. We had a minor thing with a door handle and they responded very quickly.
Highly recommend, would definitely stay here again!
