About this property

Large canal front home! Boat lift! Close to Rockport Beach!

This two story, almost 3000 square foot home is right on the canal and just a short boat ride to some of the best fishing in south Texas. There is a boat lift for you to use and the kids or kids at heart will love to fish from the dock. The downstairs of this home offers 3 of the bedrooms. The first one has a King size bed and a door out to the patio that overlooks the canal. The second bedroom has a Queen size bed and 2 twin beds and the third bedroom has a full size futon. Up the stairs you will find the master bedroom with a King size bed and an incredible master bath. The second bedroom has 2 twin size bunk beds. The most amazing open living room, kitchen and dining room all over look a huge deck that has wonderful water views. There is a large dining table that will seat 8 guests and there is also a bar with a few bar stools. The owner has one side of the garage open for your use, so you will have a place to store all of your fishing and beach gear. We hope to see you soon and that you will love this beach house as much as we do!

Nice place that needs a little TLC

Rating Details: The property manager was very helpful. The vacation rental was somewhat dirty. I was very happy with the location. I was satisfied with the condition of the vacation rental. Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The boat dock clevis (bracket to tie boat) pulled out of the dock the first day I arrived from dry rot. Then walking up wood stairs from the dock one of solar lights did the same. The lift was great but hose is too short for washing down your boat.I found 5 dead cockroaches in the house and saw 2 live ones. I was provided with one garbage bag so I had to make a special trip to go get more.

Overall, I recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The location of the home and the overall access to stores and the town were great. Property backs up to a quiet canal neighborhood. The property was in ok condition when arriving. Housekeeping did not sweep the floors and vacuum before arriving. The boat lift was inoperable and posed an electrical and fire hazard to the guest. When we arrived the electrical box was smoking. Overall we enjoyed our stay but were very concerned with the condition of the boat lift as advertised.

Nice peaceful getaway

I recently had a nice and relaxing stay at this Vrbo property. The location was perfect for a peaceful getaway and the neighborhood was quiet. While there were a few issues with the property, most of them were fixed promptly after reporting them. The host was very accommodating and flexible, especially when we needed to change our dates due to a hurricane. Overall, it was a great experience, and I would recommend this property for a relaxing vacation.

Quiet neighborhood, good fishing, fantastic deck breakfast with a view

Quiet neighborhood, aprox 5 minutes to dollar store 10 min to beach. Clean, very roomy, beds comfy. We Loved fishing off of the dock. And reading a book on the top deck and or bottom back porch. It was really cool that every bedroom had a door access to outside it made it easy to sneak out to fish when the kids went to bed or for others to have private access to fishing or decks. The house had a few very minor things that need fixed but it is nothing that would interfere with the enjoyment of the property. Need to bring baby gates if you have small children. There are stairs and eady access to water.

House is great. Plenty of room. Fishing was fun. Neighbors houses are really close but was not a issue. Only issue was there was trash left in the back yard no big deal notified the owner and we took it out.

Overall, I do not recommend this vacation rental. Reviewer Comments: The Kitchen had everything we needed for cooking meals, the large table was perfect for family games. We caught our fish limit, and the fish cleaning table was great for cleaning our fish (Although neighbor across the canal taking our picture wasn't cool). We loved sitting on the upper & lower porches. It was nice having a downstairs area for people with mobility problems. Cleaning crew did well with what they had to work with, but maintenance probably should go by and do a thorough assessment.

Thanksgiving stay with family

Host was AWESOME with communication and any questions during our stay. House was not as clean as I would have liked it but however, I did ask if we could arrive earlier than check in time so the cleaning process was rushed. Can't blame them for that one. Overall it was a great family get together for our Thanksgiving trip! Look forward to returning again! Thank you Rockscape, The Johson Family

Fun for the whole family!

We loved this property! It was clean and spacious. Plenty of room for 3 families with teenagers. Being on the canal was amazing! The kids loved being able to walk out the back door and fish right there from the dock.

Cleanliness important? Don't stay here

Floors dirty, sand & hair in sheets of one bed evidently not changed, downstairs & upstairs outdoor tables VERY dirty, mold around all ceiling vents, downstairs had dog urine odor with general musty smell on arrival, sliding door in small bath upstairs doesn't work, dog hair matted on futon, no towel hangers in downstairs bathroom, carpet in master bedroom filthy, bunk bed mattresses so thin that the slats could be felt, making very uncomfortable night, dirty kitchen countertops, underwater fishing lights don't work, multiple nails were sticking up in outdoor stairs (reported on first day, had to call back again after 3rd day to finally fix them), garbage was left inside garage on arrival, dirty wash cloth with ?? found under master bed. Our first morning and part of the afternoon was spent making the house clean and livable, having to buy Fabreeze to spray in the vents to mask the musty odor. My family will not book with this agency again or book this house. Caveat emptor.

The property is located in an ideal area. Back yard has dock we successfully fished from. Caught several varieties of fish. Hardly no vehicle traffic. 10 minutes in any direction from grocery stores and beach. However, house is probably more accommodating for a group of 10 or less. Air conditioning system needs to be updated. Bbq pit needs to be replaced. Climbing up stairs to get to kitchen and livingroom not ideal for us with a three year old and an elderly couple.
