We had a great time at the lake house. We came from out of state to see family and friends, everyone had a wonderful time and the lake is just so clean and very beautiful, would very much recommend. Our only issue was the lower deck, we thought we would be able to use it with visiting family and friends but the whole deck is on a slope and part of it broken and not walkable, that was a little disappointing as we were counting on that space to entertain visitors. Other than that, the place was great!
We had the best Fall getaway at this awesome cabin! The lake was outstanding! Clearest water ever. We enjoyed the view, fire on the patio and several Fall hikes on trails nearby. The weather was Fall like but we got out the kayaks.
We also enjoyed everything Annandale had to offer. Great small town! We highly recommend thiis cabin!
Ryan was so accommodating. His cabin has a beautiful view of Lake Sylvia. We enjoyed watching the loon family. The crystal clear water is stunning. We brought our boat and caught fish too...
We had a wonderful time here! The weather was warm so we got to swim and kayak. We also were able to just unwind. The view is amazing and the sound of the waves reminded me of Hawaii! We would love to wake up every day here :) Also, we went in a hike and enjoyed the nature parks nearby. We will definitely come again!! Thank you Ryan for being so helpful with the little questions I had here and there!
This house was perfect for our family of 4. We enjoyed using the kayaks on the clearest lake we’ve ever seen. Some of the other things we enjoyed…fishing right off the dock, listening/watching the loons, making bonfires nightly, going into Annandale to antique shop, playing board games with the most fantastic view of the lake and just enjoying a very peaceful and quiet location on the lake. The house was very clean and had everything we needed for the week. We can’t wait to return!
Perfect setting. Lovely breeze. Never had to use ac even though it was 100 degrees in Minneapolis.
Directions to use TV were not present.
An amazing array of water sports, though we were too old to use them.
We enjoyed our stay, especially the comfy couches and beds, great view, place to dock our boat, clean water and numerous water toys available to use as part of the rental (lily pad, kayaks, paddle board) as well as yard games and board games and numerous seating areas. The 3rd 'bedroom' probably wouldn't qualify for a real estate listing, so be aware it's just a bed in the the family room on the lower level with no door for privacy from the upstairs (accessible via spiral stair case). This didn't bother us since we only needed two bedrooms for our stay anyway, but just a heads up. Also, the cabin is down about 30 steep steps from the parking area, so be prepared for that if you have anything heavy or awkward to carry or mobility issues (frequent trips to load and unload the truck gave us a quad workout).
My wife and I travelled to MN to visit her family and spend a long weekend at the cabin. It was exactly as shown in the pictures. The inside is designed perfectly and the view of the lake is incredible. All the beds were comfortable and kitchen was spotless. The outdoor area has lots of seating and is spacious and the lake is stunning. The owner Ryan provides kayaks and water activities, as well as corn hole and ladder golf. All much appreciated. Ryan was quick to respond to all my questions and was amazing to deal with. Huge thank you Ryan for being so accomodating to all our requests. Highly recommend!
The East Lake Sylvia Cabin was perfect for our summer vacation to MN. The house was well-appointed and the hosts were very kind and available. The location of the house was directly on the shore of East Lake Sylvia, swimming and watersports were perfect! Not to mention the weather was "a million dollar week", undoubtedly arranged by our gracious hosts :) Our group consisted of me and my partner, two kids11 and 8, and my parents. The cabin with its 3 bedrooms housed us all comfortably and there were additionally 3 couches inside. The only issue we had wasthe stairs down to the cabin from the road and parking area, which were a concern for my older parents. But we were careful and managed the 39 steps when needed and kept them completely off the spiral staircase inside.
Beyond the house, the area was lovely and the neighbors super friendly. We rented a boat and it was so much fun to explore the lake and tube with the kids. I would highly recommend renting this cabin and hope I get a chance to stay there again myself!
This cabin is nice and private, AND it includes the most beautiful view of the lake. Watching the sun rise and set was amazing, and it provided the peacefulness for which I was looking for on our getaway. Our adult son and his girlfriend joined us. We kayaked, paddle-boarded, and just enjoyed the outdoors. The kitchen was the nicest kitchen that we've had on one of these trips, and it had everything we needed. We had a fire and smores at night. It rained one day, and we went into town. The coffee shop (In Hot Water) is amazing, as well as the Thayer Hotel restaurant, and we bowled twice (Tom & Gary's). Annandale is so hospitable and welcoming. I also recommend the Minnesota Pioneer Park (in Annandale). What an amazing collecion of MN history.
My family, my partner, and I greatly enjoyed our stay. Home is lakeside and we got to spend the days watching the lake and relaxing. It was great to have the kayak and paddleboard available as well as to use the fire pit.
Our family enjoyed our time at the lake. The cabin had just enough space for all of us and all of the essentials were included. Plus, we loved being able to use the paddle board, kayaks and lily pad!
We enjoyed our stay at this property. Check in and check out were very easy. The property had everything we needed and was a perfect, private and comfortable home. The view, the lake and the loons were amazing!
I rented this property for a mini- high school reunion (class of '75!) with several friends. We all grew up in the area and knew that Lake Sylvia would offer fantastic views, plus great swimming and boating. We very much enjoyed using the water toys (kayaks, paddleboard, lily pad, and inflatables) and then relaxing on the many decks and enjoying the scenery and lake breezes. The cabin itself was impeccable and the kitchen was stocked with everything we could possibly have needed (cookware, spices, paper goods, even snacks). The parking area was described as limited, but we found that it easily fit five cars. Plus, the location is only a few miles from the town of Annandale, and quite easy to get to. Ryan, the owner, was easy to contact and quickly answered the few questions we had. We all agreed that we made an excellent choice, and would love to come back!
We loved the stay. The place was beautiful, clean, had everything we needed. The view from inside was completely amazing and the large deck space was great for spending time outdoors.
The lake was absolutely perfect for the small kids. The water was amazingly warm, super clear with playful little fish everywhere and perfect for practicing swimming and water games. There
were lots of lifejackets available for everyone. The highlight was the giant lily pad which the kids loved and played "king of the lily pad" on for hours at a time.
