There are two docks that can easily fit 3 boats as well as a mooring ball for jet skis or smaller boats. The home boasts a large beach area and an aluminum raft perfect for swimming and sun tanning! There is a large deck adjacent to the home that features a gas grill and is perfect for refueling after a long day out on the water exploring all that Lake Winnipesaukee has to offer! There is another deck connected to the docks that is perfectly situated to relax with the sounds of the waves breaking along the shoreline. In addition, there is also a fire pit that will be sure to draw a crowd in the evening to unwind from a fun filled day of boating and swimming on the lake (Don't forget to pack marshmallows, graham crackers, and chocolate for S'mores!).

The interior of the home features a beautiful kitchen with a stove, refrigerator, microwave, dishwasher, blender (for those of us that enjoy an adult beverage), and toaster. The kitchen overlooks the lake and there is a large dining table perfect for the entire family that features not one, but two picture windows that overlook the majestic lake front and beach area! On the first floor there are two bedrooms, both with queen size beds and built in closets. One bedroom also features a treadmill and weight bench for those looking to continue their fitness regime even though they are living on "island time". The first floor also has a shower/ bathtub, single sink vanity, and toilet (the house has a septic tank!). There is also a laundry room with a fully functioning washer and dryer as well as a second refrigerator (perfect for overflow from the main kitchen).

The second floor features a spacious guest room with a queen bed and a double bunk perfect for the kids! There is a guest bathroom right next to the guest room, with a single sink, toilet, and shower.

The master bedroom is also located on the second floor and features a king Temperpedic bed (brand new) with flat screen television. The master bathroom is attached with a soaker jacuzzi, walk in shower, toilet, and double sink vanity. The master has a show stopping view of the lake that will take your breath away each morning you wake up.

Lake retreat

This is one of those reviews where I want to not tell anyone about this place so I can keep it to myself! This camp was great all around and I have nothing negative to say. All my expectations were met and communication with the host was easy. We had a great time and will return as soon as possible.

Perfect Getaway

Eli was super responsive to all of our questions and you can’t beat the location. The beachfront space made it so easy to launch kayaks and SUPs. Plenty of space for dining as a group.

Amazing!!!

Just returned from a week at this Mark Island property with my extended family of 10, ages ranging from 4 to 74. This place was great, I found it to be exactly as advertised in the listing. Eli was accessible and helpful. Very comfortable living without giving up the “cabin” vibe. Would def rent again.

Amazing property and owner

This is a fantastic property and owner. The house itself has a laid-back lake cabin feel, yet is equipped with amenities like AC, Smart TVs, two full size refrigerators, memory foam mattresses and a newer washer and dryer. There was plenty of space for our nine people (4 adults, 5 teenagers) so we weren’t on top of each other during a couple of rainy afternoons. We were concerned being on an island, we’d run out of household items or forget something, but the house is very well stocked – beach towels, soap, toilet paper etc, to save you if you run out. The outdoor space is amazing. The beach is large for a lake property of this size, and the water entry is sandy, so no mud and weeds to walk into. The swimming dock is only a short swim from shore, but due to a drop off a short way out, is in deep enough water to jump and dive without concern. It has multiple nice, usable seating areas – the deck, the beach, fire pit and dock (Adirondack chairs and a propane fire feature). We used all of them on multiple occasions. You can catch an endless number of small fish from dock. The property is nicer than the pictures suggest – the lake actually runs into a shallow little lagoon on the side and back of the house, which adds a nice element, and you can walk back into the woods and into the interior of the island behind the house where we spotted some deer. Its an easy dock for docking, and it’s a nice quiet part of the lake between Mark and Bear Island, good for kayaking and swimming, and its big and quiet enough to tube and ski. It’s a great location on the lake in that it offers reasonable access to anywhere you want to go via boat. Eli is a phenomenal owner. He’s very responsive and he’s happy to spend time on the phone answering questions and explaining whatever you need to know. He’s absolutely committed to making sure your vacation goes well. We had an issue with our boat rental (not from Shep’s) and Eli actually hung out on the lake for a couple of hours after he’d finished cleaning the house so he could ferry us and our stuff to island while we waited for the marina to solve the issue.

Amazing stay at the lake

The property is incredible. The house was clean and organized, and Eli provided tons of supplies. The kitchen was stocked with everything we needed for cooking and there were plenty of towels and linens. The kids loved the floating dock and sandy beach area. There are walking trails on the island that we had fun exploring. It was a fantastic week and were all sad to leave.

Perfect Getaway

This place has everything. We absolutely loved the property and all that it offered. Swimming in the beautiful lake, jumping off the floating dock, playing on the beach, fishing off the dock, boating, lobsta night!, beautiful hikes in the woods, deer wandering through camp, fire pit at night, s’mores! And so much more. Thank you thank you thank you!

Special week!

Fantastic week in a well-kept home with lots of amenities. We loved the beauty of the island and truly enjoyed our stay. The private docks were perfect for fishing, and the beachfront was gorgeous. We made a fire each night and loved hearing the loons as we roasted marshmallows. We were very glad to be able to travel with our dog, and really appreciate just how clean the house was considering it is one that allows pets. Daily excursions are easy and fun- we went to Weirs for Kellerhouse and boardwalk fun, Wolfboro, and Meredith. The home appliances and outdoor grill were all terrific for cooking each day, and the well-stocked kitchen/linens were above and beyond what we expected. This spot is a gem, and Eli is a wonderful host. Totally recommend!

Perfect stay

We had the best week staying here, within minutes my husband was talking about retirement to the lake “in something just like this.” That’s high praise coming from an ocean boy… The whole week was phenomenal, the house had absolutely everything we needed. I had planned for a few days for exploring off the lake but we literally never left, I think we were floating by 8am every single day. Eli was prompt in responding to any questions before and during our stay. We absolutely loved it and are already talking about next year… the only thing I would do differently is book an extra week!

Lovely all around

We had a great stay. The location is amazing. We picked this home for our vacation because the beach area looked easy for kids and a dog to swim in, and it was. Nice and sandy. The water is clean and clear and swimming to the float out in the water was great fun. The house was clean and we had everything we needed. Owner was easy to connect with and helpful.

Fabulous month on Mark Island!

We had a fantastic time at this lovely waterfront cabin on Mark Island this July/August. It was a perfect setting with all the amenities you need for a total get away...excellent dock...beautiful private beach just steps out of the front door/patio area...a great floating dock...a well laid out fire pit near the lake shore...comfortable bedrooms...3 bathrooms...and an owner who was incredibly responsive to any requests or inquiries we made prior to and during our stay. We had a number of different family members visit us and the bedroom layout facilitated our needs well. It was also fun to be situated on an island that had very easy access to Meredith we could do a quick grocery run. We hope to return again.

Island rental

The island house and property is fantastic. Parking of vehicles and boat trailer is a hassle. The municipal parking lot is packed and very limited parking on weekends and check in is at 5 pm Saturday. One vehicle got hit with damage to bumper and someone also broke trailer light over the week. Other than trouble with parking vehicles and trailer this property is fantastic and owner is great and easy to talk to. One suggestion might be weekday check in and check out dates to avoid busy weekend parking.

Great family vacation

My wife, kids (14, 12, 8) and I just returned from a wonderful family vacation here. The house was great - clean, nicely appointed with everything we needed, good sized rooms/bathrooms and a really nice family lake house feel. The extra fridge in the laundry room and the ice maker were particularly useful amenities that you don't see in many places. The beach, swimming and dock area were excellent. There is a nice sandy area to walk into the water then the water gets deep ten feet offshore which is perfect for swimming. The fire pit right on the shore was also very cool. The location on the lake was very good - north shore of Mark Island which was a bit quieter than other parts of the lake yet close to the marina, and not too far from Meredith and Weir's Beach, which we visited by boat a couple of times. Being on an island made the trip slightly more logistically challenging as expected (8 day boat rental, have to worry about bad weather when going to dinner/town, fighting for dock space on Sat morning at the marina on way out) but also added an element of adventure which our kids loved. Overall, a great place to spend a family vacation.
