Be very careful!
We booked through VRBO but when we arrived we realised very quickly that the property details were incorrect!
There is NO onsite parking and there is NO outside space. When we queried this with the property management rep we were told ‘No sorry’ there is no onsite parking. They tried to excuse it by saying it was a translation issue. They told us there was on street parking but this wasn’t true either. We booked because of the onsite parking so we were unable to stay here.
The saga continued as the management company stopped communicating with us. We had to find urgent accommodation which ended up being about 50 mins drive away.
We Contacted VRBO who initially stated they would refund us in full and pay for our first nights alternative accommodation. They apologised and even tried to contact the property owner, we were informed by the VRBO rep that the call had ended with the owner putting the phone down on him. I can’t confirm that this happened but this is what we were told.
VRBO did not contact us back and after numerous telephone calls and emails they then refused our refund!
After just over 2 weeks I spent 3hrs and 48min on the phone to VRBO. I was determined to get our money back. They put me on hold numerous times for long periods of time, they cut me off a few times too! But I persisted and had to threaten legal action to get to speak to a supervisor.
After much discussion, I got the refund! Not impressed and won’t use again!
