Very nice stay! Porches are awesome!

Comfortable cabin, beautiful views, nice walking areas. Cabin could have been cleaner for sure, and in need of some repairs. However, all in all we were comfortable and had a lovely weekend retreat!

It was ok

Nothing extraordinary, the top floor is concerning because it is leaning and the rails are unstable in the decks. Bed is not comfortable. Wouldn’t choose to stay here again.

January stay

The views and the atmosphere were wonderful. Even the drive up the mountain was exhilarating! The only draw back was the water temp. I like very hot water for showers, baths, hand washing. I am definitely going to participate in the Legacy Mountain ziplining next trip.

Wonderful -- just as advertised!

This cabin is BEAUTIFUL. All the pictures are right on target. It was spotless and everything promised was there. The coziness of the cabin really fit perfectly in the setting. It has a great view of the Smokies (and the zipliners across the gap were quite entertaining!). We had an absolutely perfect weekend!

Relaxing Getaway

Cabin was absolutely beautiful! The bed was comfortable. The tub was huge and relaxing. The hot tub was amazing especially with the view. Upstairs was rather warm, downstairs was cooler but had to keep the blinds closed. The arcade game was a hit with my spouse and oldest granddaughter. Would definitely recommend staying here. We would definitely book it again.

First time

First thing we noticed was how clean the cabin smelled. It wasn’t an harsh chemical smell, it just smelled clean. The cabin is well maintained! We would definitely stay here again! Fantastic first experience.

Loved every moment at this Cabin

We stayed here for our honeymoon and it was Great. The cabin has great views of the mountains. The rooms was very beautifully decorated. TV were all very large. The bathtub was extra large for two people. The jacuzzi was warm and very relaxing. The. cabin name Great Escape fits this cabin perfectly. We truly loved every moment of our stay. If we needed anything it was handled quickly. We look forward to staying again and again!!!!

Wonderful Cabin

The cabin was nice and clean!!! Located high on the mountain top but easy to get to due to the paved road. We were supplied with everything needed. The sauna was not available due to Covid and I think that reason tends to be a bit over used at this time. That was disappointing but not a deal breaker. Great views and no problems renting from Vacasa. I will definitely look to Vacasa for our next rental in the Smokies!

Transferred to this cabin

Our original cabin had no water I called Vacasa and was connected with an agent who made the service request then an hour later a local agent contacted me and asked us to check under the deck to see if the well pump breaker needed to be reset mind you our cabin is on the side of a mountain but my boyfriend climbed down only for the breaker box not to be under the deck. We were then told maintenance would be out shortly another hour later we got a call from the local agent that they’re gonna have to move us to a different cabin and we’ll receive an email with our new cabin. The new cabin they sent had none of the amenities our original cabin had so we looked up cabins that had our amenities we wanted and then called back to support and they agreed to have us moved to the cabin of our choice this took 4 hours from our original call but all and all we’re thankful we were moved was just a rough start to our vacation. The great escape cabin was absolutely wonderful though it was peaceful and breathtaking to watch thunderstorms from the loft. The road up the mountain was very windy and long but it’s definitely worth it.

Nice cabin but hot tub did not work

We liked it but the batteries in the tv remotes were gone for the living room tv when we got there. It was resolved the next day. The hot tub had dirty water in it so we could not use it either night we stayed. Even after they came the next day to drain it and refill it. We liked the view and getting away to the mountains. Cabin clean and pretty

Overpriced, unequipped Cabin with missing fixtures and no help or service.

Our family rents mountain homes 4 to 6 times per year. This one bedroom Kevin was one of the most overpriced cabins we have ever stayed in. Furthermore, the kitchen I was poorly equipped with old scratched teflon pots, pans. No coffee maker or a simple tea kettle the boil water for tea. Nothing to prepare a meal successfully. Not even a dash of salt or pepper was anywhere to be found. This unit it's being advertised as having a bath tub. The bathtub that we found was disconnected from water lines and drain line. There were no fixtures. It seemed like an old tub was removed and this new one was just dropped into the existing opening without a plumber finishing the installation, making it completely unusable. We have two little children and were unable to bathe them there. So this next problem is VERY SERIOUS SAFETY ISSUE. There is an 8 inch gap between one of the balusters on the upper balcony with a 40 foot drop below! What is more disturbing, the fact that this unit obviously has passed the building inspection at some Pont with this l Be very careful if you have toddlers out there on the patio.

Wonderful time!

We have rented at Legacy Mountain Resort many times over the last 5 years. This was one of the best times we had. Vacasa was easy to book, monitor, check in and check out. I got a text letting us know the cabin was cleaned and ready early and I could go ahead and check in at no extra cost almost 4 hours ahead of time!! I got to the cabin and the code wasn't working so I replied to the text I had just gotten and the csr was so nice and helpful and had us in the cabin within a few minutes. The cabin was clean, lots of games and arcade available with good tv/movies selection. Kitchen was stocked well for 2 people with your basic neccessary items, but if you want to bake anything you would need to supply any casserole dishes etc. There is a Family Dollar within a few miles which is a plus for that little something you might forget or need to grab. A small tip, don't run the dishwasher as you go to bed as we were awakened several times with noises that sounded like someone was trying to break in. (Easy fix, just run in the daytime lol). We do strongly recommend that window coverings need to be installed in the upstairs living area on both windows as the sun made it heat up terribly and there is no privacy with the other cabins, you're looking straight into the other cabins and vice-versa. We have been coming to Legacy Resort for 5 years and this is one of my favorite cabins with the layout and location. If the top deck railing was stabilized better ( it has been repaired but still needs a little adjustment), the living area had window coverings on the two large windows and the hot tub had better privacy slats on both sides of deck and to the side of the hot tub( 3 cabins are looking straight into the hot tub) this would get 5 out of 5 stars for sure! We were lucky enough to see several black bear families daily traveling through that made this one of my best trips yet! You have a wonderful view of the zipliners as well. After watching them decided to try that as well and fell in love with it!

I would not recommend this cabin…

We wanted to love our time at this cabin but a few unresolved issues made it feel less like vacation and more like a frustrating week at home… The cabin itself is as advertised and the amenities were in working order. The overall cleanliness upon arrival was good enough. However, the main floor toilet did not have a seat on it, making it unusable to 4 of the 5 people in our family. The toilet seat had been thrown outside along side the cabin. Kind of unsightly as were the many, many cigarette butts on the ground. The pullout bed on the main floor appears to have been abused having a bent frame, making it very difficult to pull out and put away. It does not lay flat. The beds came with sheets but no real blankets, only one light throw blanket per bed. The biggest frustration however was that on our first night there, my oldest daughter who was staying upstairs on the wonky pullout, was greeted in the night by mice in the kitchen area. A mouse and likely its friends (given further evidence throughout the kitchen) was helping itself to the bag of bread we had on the counter. I understand we were literally in the woods. I know mice get into dwellings. However, I don’t want to deal with them while trying to vacation. We messaged CS about the issue and received a standard acknowledgment but no one seemed particularly ready or willing to be helpful for the remainder of the stay. It did appear that maintenance came in the next day and did something under the kitchen sink. However, from that point on, the sink had no hot water…? There was no communication about who came in and what they did. I think mice are adorable but admittedly am skeeved out by them in my kitchen and have a hard time getting past mouse poop all over the counters and on the appliances… Between that and no hot water, I felt the kitchen was unusable to us and that really impacted our stay. I do wish the issue had been addressed and we had been given some type of compensation or at least an apology for the conditions. Lots of potential for this cabin but there are definitely management issues that could significantly impact your stay.

Great Views

The view from the balcony is just spectacular. Overall the house is nicely laid out. The kitchen is well equipped with kitchen appliances. The game room with the large TV and video games is great. We enjoyed playing the video games with all the old games like Pac-Man, Space Invaders and Frogger. Having a full size washer and dryer is also a nice addition. I would definitely rent this house again.
