Great respite in the woods

Second time staying, both times for work in the area. Lovely home, great decor, quiet and well equipped. We had to delay our departure due to threatening weather and easily did this through the manager and Vacasa. Great stay.

Surrounded by green

Gorgeous house and gardens. Perfect location to walk places. Very clean inside house. My only complaint is all the giant spiders in the garden and walkways were a little scary (alas, that’s the compromise of being submerged in a beautiful garden!)

Magical Magic Garden

We so enjoyed our long weekend in Arcata visiting grandkids. The place was great (and very clean)! Perfectly located for walks to the plaza (for the AHS Homecoming parade), shopping, the Community Forest, HSU campus. We really appreciated the beautiful garden, the brightness of the interior & the interesting decor inside and out.

"Magic Garden" is not an exaggeration

This home was clean and comfortable, with lots of beautiful and considerate touches (like the privacy screen in the primary bedroom closet.) The private garden was truly magical - a profusion of blooms and hummingbirds that made sitting outside for coffee feel like a mini vacation unto itself. The location is perfect - close but not too close to the Plaza and less than two blocks from Arcata Community Forest with its incredible, forested walking trails. On the "accuracy of the listing": We weren't informed until arriving/inquiring with the property manager (who got back to us promptly) that the hot tub was "no longer operational and taken off the listing." This was not the case in early September when we booked, using "has a hot tub" as part of our search criteria, and we would have appreciated a heads-up. That said, we still enjoyed our stay and highly recommend this property.

Magic Garden is a sweet retreat

The garden itself is well cared for and lovely, depending on the time of year obviously. The hot tub is nice, but be careful getting in and out of it as it's a wooden cask and there's sharp edges. The biggest thing about this place is the light. The master bedroom has no blinds or curtains and is completely open to the "private" garden. There's other units around and we heard voices, so I'm not sure, but can only hope that others do not have a view into the bedroom! But bring blindfolds, because before sunrise you'll be woken if you're at all light sensitive. But the rear bedroom does have blinds which work well, and would be great, if it weren't for a mindlessly installed skylight directly above your head! No way to block out light, and again I was woken every morning by it. The kitchen and dining room are terrific. The one bathroom is also roomy, but the water pressure in the shower is weak.

Magic Garden

the property is in a very quiet neighborhood. There is a nice regional park a few blocks away that has plenty of walking/hiking trails. The park also has a small play ground and a small bicycle pump track.

Wonderful oasis in great location

Location cannot be beat and yet it feels very secluded. We loved the peacefulness and the hot tub. Great spot to stay for a small family. Cleanliness and property kept in great condition. We hope to book this every summer :)

What a great place

My family came to Arcata to help my daughter move into the university there. What a great place. We’ve stayed in hotels and other rentals before but we liked it here the best. Very relaxing, clean and up to date. The soaking tub was really nice! And the outdoor shower was fantastic. Loved the garden. Kitchen was great, had everything we needed, and the TV was smart so we could stream Hulu and max. A great stay - we will be back!

Peaceful Garden

As Beautiful as the Photos

This place looks just as beautiful as the photos. The master bedroom is large, with high ceilings and large windows looking out on a gorgeous garden. It felt private and safe. It is extremely quiet. The hardwood floors and fixtures are all high quality. This place is a joy to stay in. I've stayed in plenty of vacation rentals with 5-star ratings that are NOT nice. This is why I was so glad to find that this rental is actually a nice place to be. Notes: The master bedroom doesn't have window coverings, but there are some folding screens provided, which we used, and it felt private enough for myself and my husband.

truly a Magical Garden

It was a bit hard to get to. Follow the directions to a T. It has a beautiful garden out back. You waken to the sunshine every morning and see the lovely roses. There are no curtains, but it is very private. There is a privacy screen that you can put up if desired, but it is a private residence.

Better than it looks

From the pictures I was hesitant about this house because lack of door to master bedroom, living room looks to be part of kitchen and entrance to the house. Despite these odd aspects of the home, it exceeded our expectations. The setting is gorgeous. It is private and beautiful. The big windows are breathtaking and you are surrounded by lush greenery. It is well furnished and comfortable. We loved it!
