Great location work great for what we were in town for. Imagine it would be a great place to stay when the weather was nice and you could enjoy the lake.
The view of Lake Ontario was beautiful. The home is very well maintained and very cozy! The only concern was that we kept get headaches and nausea from a strong gas smell coming from the laundry area in the home. We tried airing it out but it was extremely hard to get the odor out.
We wanted to stay a few extra days on the lake while picking up my son from college. Didn’t want to spend a ton of money so this house worked out well. Right on Lake Ontario. It was so nice hearing the lake out the windows at night. The boat lifts definitely obstruct your view straight out but plenty of great views to the side! We cooked a few meals while there. Kitchen was pretty stocked. Could have used some salt and pepper though. Lol. House was very clean but the back room (which we didn’t really need to use) had a slight odor. It didn’t ruin our stay or anything but it was a room you walk thru to get in the house. Also there was no cable tv. I messaged Joe but he took a while to get back to us and wasn’t able to get it working. He said he would have direct tv come out but that would have been after we checked out. Overall a positive stay and a very good price for being directly on the lake!
This beach house is in a quiet area directly on the beach. We rented the house for RIT graduation and the short commute was a bonus. We enjoyed the spaciousness of the house as well as well as the outdoor patio and fire pit. This was our first Vrbo experience and we weren’t sure what to expect, Joe was a great host and quick to answer any questions we had. Even though our need to stay in Rochester is over, we would like to return to this property in the future.
The house is in need of many upgrades but one of the biggest is the kitchen supplies. Everything was thrown in cupboards with no concern at all. The pots and pans were terrible...peeling Teflon coating...tons of lids that went with nothing...not enough forks if there was a family there...a general feel of uncleanliness. Not at all conducive to cooking. There was a smell of gas, enough that I kept a window open. A cupboard is hanging by one hinge. I read reviews as we all rely on them and I wonder why people said nothing but positives?? The blinds look broken upstairs, and you are asked to strip beds before you leave and run the washer. I did that (I paid a "cleaning fee" so also feel that that is not my responsibility), but saw that there was no mattress pad. As a rental there are people coming and going all the time...ugh. These things need to be changed after each rental. The lawn was not mowed, there was litter by the side door, the fence is falling apart. No instruction for the TV's and I couldn't figure it out. I would not rent this property again, and at the per night fee in the summer, a definite NO. And there is a NO cancellation policy. The sunset and sunrise was spectacular....
The house was comfortable and clean and perfectly located on the beach. While it rained most of our time there (to be expected in Rochester this time of year) we loved being near the water and waking up to the view of the lake.
Quiet stay for the weekend. Kitchen was nicely stocked with items to use, house and clean and tidy. Only downside was the beach was mostly covered with their boat ramps leaving limited space to play.
The house was as listed, the beach as the backyard was wonderful. Good location, was short ride to zoo, Strong Play Museum, parks & even a lighthouse tour. Few hiccups at house but nothing that ruined our stay. Thanks Joe for sharing your property with us.
Close to the colleges in Rochester (we were there for graduation). Close enough to take day trips to the Finger Lakes and Niagara Falls. Lovely sunrises and sunsets. We could easily see the Blood Moon which was the last night there.
Nice property. Good distance for a University of Rochester visit

Dirty
We got to the house, the oven was filthy, inside of the microwave dirty, the toaster had crumbs on top of it as well as in it. The home is advertised as 1 1/2 baths. There is a toilet, with a window beside it. It’s next to the washer and dryer with no sink to wash your hands. Closets in bedrooms not usable. Storage that could have been available contained owners clothes. Extra pillows had yellow stains on them. Shower door had some residue running down it, not clean. The breezeway had mold on the floor. Light switch at the top of the stairs had no switch, had tape over it, so no light. Didn’t even stay one night. You think the owner would have reimbursed me. Nope!
Although there was snow on the shore, we had space to walk down the beach. The house was bigger than expected, private and quiet for it being on a main road. Lots of amenities and comfort, glad we took this little getaway.... it was worth it.
My family and I really enjoyed our stay! Great location, very cozy and clean. Though there was a lot of snow, waking up to the waves was very soothing. We hope to stay again!
The most coziest and comfiest home! Great location, within walking distance to a couple restaurants. Bonus walking out back and stepping on to the sandy beach! We loved sitting on the large patio with a fire and a couple drinks! Perfect little get away for us!

This is an ideal little cottage, it is on the lake and very quiet. A wonderful place to relax and enjoy the sunrises. An abundance of TV sets, Wi-Fi and more.
