Filthy, Unmaintained Home with malfunctioning AC - Owner unresponsive.

Don't be fooled by the previous reviews as I was! First Red Flag - Owners do not allow you to book through VRBO which is your protection against an unfit property. Upon arrival it is obvious you are dealing with absentee owners. The door keeper (not property manager as lease is with owner) opens door for you and the home smelled and was very hot. I asked him to turn on the AC to which he replied it is on. The home was dirty and had a horrible, unbearable odor like Mildew, mold or pesticide. The carpet was filthy and there were cob webs, dead bugs and bath tub and door tracks were filled with dead ants. I''m not talking a few here, but literally hundreds. There were layers of dust under recliners, furnace area and around washer/ dryer. The grill in back yard is not usable as the steps to get there are covered in cobwebs and spiders. On the other side to the back are overgrown bushes. The hall light is out so you can't see when going to bathroom or bedroom. Owner advertises a community pool and hot tub, but these have been closed for a year and no schedule for repair. I contacted owner immediately about AC and she said she'd send someone out (which she never did). I sent her pictures of many of the above issues to which she ignored. I had a pounding headache and my mother developed a chronic cough within a few hours of being in the home. I ended up having to take her to emergency. X rays showed she developed a chest infection. She was in and out of hospital and only coughed when in the house. I hired an environmental company to check for Black Mold. I tried to stick it out and get through the month I paid for but was forced to move my mom out after a couple weeks and I finally gave up and rented a hotel for myself the last week. Owners live in Illinois and have multiple rentals. Slumlords!

Great view!

The home was fully stocked with everything you could possibly need. The sunset and mountain view from the deck was spectacular. The location is excellent - minutes away from downtown Prescott. Ruth, the onsite property manager, was so kind and helpful. It's a great homebase away from home!

A nice location and well furnished property.

We stayed for the second time at this property for three months. Previously, we took many day trips, fished in Lynx Lake, Fein Lake and Goldwater lake, Jerome and enjoyed the time there. This year the weather was not conducive for fishing, but did take several day trips again and took in basketball (Northern Arizona Suns) located in nearby Prescott Valley. The property is also close to Planet Fitness (a very nicely equipped facility) which we used 4 or 5 days a week.

Clean, quiet, relaxing, well equipped.

This wonderful home has everything you would need for a month in the mountains, including the views. Our every want was taken care of. A quiet neighborhood with just a few minutes to down town and all the activities there. Close enough for day trips to Grand Canyon, Sedona, Payson and Phoenix. We really enjoyed the wonderful deck especially at sun set. It doesn't get better than this.

March in Prescott

We enjoyed our stay at Hilltop Rd. and would recommend it to anyone wanting to stay in the Prescott area. It is very convenient to both downtown Prescott and Prescott Valley and everything in between. Easy access to highways and surrounding area. The view is amazing and the sunsets were pure delight. The enclosed and outside porches provide a perfect place to relax, read, or just enjoy the scenery. The home is modest. Nothing fancy, but adequate. The queen bed is very comfortable. The small fenced area was perfect for letting out dog outside for short periods of time. I would not recommend this home to people with children or difficulty getting around. The road up to the home is very steep with sharp curves. Getting our Toyota Sequoia into the driveway and carport wash very tricky. More details about location and access should be listed in the description. Ruth Johnson, the owner's representative was very pleasant and willing help us when we had questions. We shared with her some things needed attention.

Pleasant & comfortable

This was or first experience renting this property. It was both pleasant & comfortable. Everything we used worked well. We did not grill out and we did not use the electric blankets provided on the beds. The location was fairly high on the hill and snow or ice could present difficulty if there were more than a little. We did not experience any access problems during our stay (12/1/17 through 2/28/18). The owners were very pleasant, congenial and accommodating. One very positive aspect was the privacy the unit offered. The placement of properties within the development (high on the hill) provided great privacy even though the properties are close together.

awsome sunsets

this was an excellent property. everything was there that might be needed including extra light bulbs to AA batteries/ & a printer for my computer. each evening we could watch the sunset from the kitchen table while we ate our evening meal. as to the POTTERS-- you couldn't ask for anyone nicer to rent from. We'd go again anytime. there are a multitude of places to go see and do in the area. from Ghost towns to montazuma,s well & castle. shop till you drop if you choose. if you can't find it in Prescott it's not available. antique hounds--more than 15 in presccott alone ,as well as local towns having some of their own as well.

Nice view and well kept place.

We really enjoyed our long term (5 month) rental here. The home was clean and well stocked. Owners responsive to our every need. Even had a Prescott treat upon our arrival. There were Halloween and Christmas decorations, making it feel like home. The location is great- close to shopping and 10 minutes from everywhere. The nights were quiet, with beautiful stars and sunsets from the porch and Arizona room. The work out facility, pool, and community activities are a real plus. I would recommend this home to anyone looking for a short or long term rental.

4th Great Summer

We just spent our 4th summer at this rental. It is everything they say. Clean, well-equipped and beautiful view. The Owners are very quick to correct any problems you may have and providing any additional services you may ask for if they are available. It is located in a very friendly 55+ Village with a heated indoor pool/hot tub. The residents are very friendly and welcoming if you wish to join in any activity such as card games, tennis, pool, poker bingo, etc. Also have a breakfast once a month and monthly get-togethers at nominal fees.

Illinoins enjoy Prescott, Arizona

The description of the property is very accurate, the photos are current and accurately reflect this very clean and well maintained property. The owners are extremely conscientious and responsive. I would highly recommend this property with confidence to friends and family. We were met by the Home Patrol personnel and shown around the home. Inside was the most delicious box of Praline's of Prescott candies with a bow and welcome note. Every thing was clean and working. I would recommend this property to active senior citizens.

Doesn't get better than this!

Every detail has been attended to and more! We arrived at night and all the lights were on to Welcome us! The owners had put up a Christmas tree and large lighted wreath, too! Inside was the most delicious box of Praline's of Prescott candies with a lovely bow and welcome note. Every thing except your toothbrush is provided by the very thoughtful owners! Every cooking utensil, all your kitchen and bath needs are well stocked. To top it off these owners (it sounds like we know them, but we really don't) came back after the new year and took down the tree and wreath AND double checked if we had enough paper towels, etc. Satelite, DSL, printer all provided and working. All the comforts of home with none of the hassles. The local area has shopping, restaurants and activities all convenient with a lot of variety. So to sum up, the description of the property is very accurate, the photos are current and accurately reflect this very clean and well maintained property. The owners are extremely conscientious and responsive. I would highly recommend this property with confidence to friends and family.

Home away from Home

My husband and I spent three months the summer of 2012 at this location. Very nice, well kept Home away from Home. Beautiful views of Thumb Butte, City of Prescott, and Sunsets. Located in a small 55+ park, with great walking areas, indoor swimming pool/hot tub, library plus access to all park activities. Close to a number of lakes, golf courses, & shopping. Owners are very friendly & easy to work with, respond quickly to your request or questions. Whether you are spending a weekend, week, or longer in or around Prescott definitely worth checking out.

We are a retired couple who like to keep active. We enjoy using this wonderful club house especially the card game room and heated indoor pool. The neighbors here are friendly and welcoming.

Why they chose this property

This restful location is ideal for porch sitting and watching the sun set. The mountain views are wonderful. Then if you want action it is just minutes from downtown court house square and Whisky Row. If shopping is your thing a mile in either direction your find shopping mall and more.

What makes this property unique

There are many activities at the club house that you may participate in if you wish such as card games, pool games, exercise groups and pot lucks. If you are a home body, the covered deck and AZ room are great places to read and relax.
