Convenient. Walkable.
Not Like: given poor/wrong directions to room, were not given name or room number, therefore, unable to get into room. No phone number of manager provided. Had to get a phone number from another guest. Had to wait to get a response after many calls and email to manager. No towels in room. Check-in was a bad experience.
We enjoyed our stay however it was not the experience we have had in the past with a B&B. There was no owner on site and no breakfast was provided. It was in walking distance to main street; lots of shopping and eating close by.

Unfortunately someone booked the entire house and VRBO? didn't flag that. So we didn't have a room the first night. I sent an email 2 weeks prior and a phone message to confirm. No one returned my messages. Now onto the property...
Great location to downtown. Nice parking area. Clean interior. Outdoor furniture on the beautiful entry porch in poor condition. "Could be" a great sitting spot. Commercial ice machine in kitchen, small refrigerator in room, good closet space, central A/C.
Our "Bowman" room had 2 small beds, 2 chairs and a large private bathroom. Great room on the main floor. If I were to guess, it's cooler than being upstairs in the summer?
Unfortunately we only stayed 1 night. No other guests were there so I can't say anything about the noise levels. It was a great overnight for us!!
Nice comfortable rooms and clean modernized bathroom in a quiet and convenient location.

Walk to downtown for shopping and dining. Living room, dinning room, laundry room, kitchen is well stocked. Recommend for large family gathering of adults as facility is for adults only.
Rodney I have attempted to send an email through the Herron House email and it will not go through. The window in the Bowman Room was open when we arrived and I did not see it due to the blinds that were not operable. I had no chair or stool to pull up the blinds and close it as it was open on the top half. Our restroom and bedroom were extremely cold the entire stay as I did not discover the window until the morning we departed. Just wanted to inform you of that window.
Was in Asheville for the weekend and this place was perfect our stay. It was close to downtown Asheville but Waynesville was also so cute and lots to see, which was a nice surprise. The check-in process was super easy and the manager was very accommodating when we needed an earlier check-in. 10/10 recommend The Herren House

Cleanliness
The house is beautifully furnished with antiques etc. The room was downstairs which was great for Mom. The house must be run 'from afar' and cleaning done that way as the bathtub was dirty and the beds were questionable. The kitchen where we were encouraged to have coffee was not clean either. The grounds are lovely but not kept well either...could be end of summer stuff. It served our purpose as we were not there except to sleep due to a wedding we were attending with family.
Loved my stay at the the Herron House. The atmosphere was so wonderful? I loved the old telephone booth out in the hall and how clean my room was and also had some great coffee. Down town Waynesville just at top of hill from the house. I recommend this place if your traveling without children.
Enjoyed my one night stay , Good communication with owner. I was traveling alone, felt safe, was clean and very comfortable; no TV, but no big deal. Was very short walk to main Street with nice shopping and restaurants;

Historic, very well maintained, conveniently located.
My daughter and I were wanting 1 night as we traveled. This was the perfect location. Close to town to walk and explore. We also drove along Blue Ridge Parkway and have picnic near Waterrock Knob.
We booked double-bed room, but the owner upgraded us to the Lucile suite. It’s a nice tidy place, considering the age of the house. We were unfortunate to get our bed’s one wheel fall off, but the next day the owner solved the problem by removing the bed frame. He did offer to come in that evening, but we were tired and were in bed by the time he got our message. The house is conveniently located to Main Street with shops and restaurants. Cute little town. There was a storm and whole town left without electricity for several hours, but luckily it got back just in time to get to bed. Other rooms in the house might offer some luxury. We were looking for inexpensive getaway.
