Heart Rock River Retreat is located only minutes to the west entrance of Glaicer National Park. The home sits on the river banks across from Glacier National Park and the Glacier View Golf Course in West Glacier. Plan your day hiking, river rafting, fishing or golfing all just a throw stone away. Spend your days in the park and return to the privacy of your own private quiet river retreat on the Middle Fork River. The perfect West Glacier getaway!

Heart rock river retreat greets you upon arrival with a spacious yard and wraparound deck with wonderful views of the cascading river in your own backyard. Enjoy dining on the deck with views of Apgar Mountain, BBQing your favorite meals or sit around the campfire by the river.

Once inside the Heart Rock Retreat, find your comfortable place in the open floor plan living area with a full size kitchen, living room with wood fireplace, dining for 6 guests and large windows to take in the river views. The main level also offers one private bedroom with a log bunk bed set (one twin upper level and one queen size bed lower level). This main floor also offers a laundry room with washer & dryer and one private full size bathroom.

Venture up the inside stairs in the living room to the open loft area that offers one king bed with a private full bathroom. Enjoy waking to the views of Glacier Park and the river from the loft master bedroom.

Please bring your own devices as our property does not offer TV but does offer fast reliable WIFI with Starlink as of July 2023. Should you need to stay connected while staying with us. Our internet speed: 111.5 download mbps and 7.25 upload mbps

Please note: Montana can become very dry and cause us to be in High Fire Danger. Our fire pit for campfires are not guaranteed to be available due to these constant changing conditions. Please inquire with us prior to your arrival should you have any questions about our fire pit availability.

Additional guests to your reservation must be approved by manager. Max total guest for our rental is 5 guests.

This property does not allow pets or smoking inside. At time of reservation, we do require reserved guest to sign a rental agreement. Our confirmation email will include the link to the agreement from Glacier View Vacation Rentals. 

2026 Reservations: We will open our calendar to all 2026 reservations starting August 1st, 2025. Please check back with us, to reserve your spot with us.

Comfortable with your own river

How charming this place was. They even had lots of spices and some oils for cooking. We loved our stay at this river side home. Looking for rocks to skip was one of the highlights for me. I actually think the home is better in person than in the listing pics. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone. Thanks for having us.

Beautiful house with a wonderful view!

We loved staying at Heart Rock River Retreat. The location was perfect in so many ways. Close to Glacier NP and close to nature. Everything we needed was provided at the house.

Great Glacier Get-A-Way

My family of 4 (2 teen boys) recently stayed at Heart Rock River Retreat. We loved everything about it. Cabin is as advertised. There was plenty of space for everyone with the upstairs loft having a bed for 2 & an en-suite bathroom and the downstairs bedroom having a bunk bed (bottom bunk queen size) & another full bathroom just right outside the door. This would be a great place for families larger than mine as 3 children could easily use the bunk beds and another could sleep on the couch. There's also a lot of floor space in the upper loft. When not in the park, my husband loved using the upstairs desk which faced the large window over looking riverside and I loved sitting outside on the deck, listening to the water roll by. The river runs just behind the cabin! The cabin could not be more conveniently located to Glacier's West entrance! It's probably a 5min drive to the park entrance, yet the cabin's tucked away in a quiet little neighborhood. The cabin was clean & the owner is organized with labels on each light switch & under the countertop & a binder of info. I didn't cook during our stay but I could see the kitchen was well stocked. We had plenty of towels (really good, large ones, at that), tp, paper towels, trash bags, etc. I bring all that stuff with us, but I could see, the host had everything stocked for what a visitor may need - including bear spray. The host did a great job of communicating before and during our stay. I definitely recommend this place.

Love this property

Amazing location! So close to everything yet tucked away to be quiet. The location ON the river is great. My family enjoyed evenings just walking along the river shore. We also enjoyed riding the provided bikes along the road, which was safe since it towards the end of a dead end road and no traffic. The house was great! Super organized!! Not only did it have everything you need, it was organized and easy to find!! Clean too. My only advice would be to bring a sleep mask if you’re sensitive to light while you sleep. The bed in the loft can get late night and early morning sunlight.

Amazing - the photos don’t do it justice!

My wife and I stayed with our two kids (2.5 and 16m) for a week and had a blast. Perfect location to get into the park for our daily adventures and close enough to get back home for nap although the kids were normally too excited to sleep. The house is extremely comfortable for relaxing. The access to the river was perfect for playing with the kids and sneaking some nap time water access. The pictures don’t do this house justice. It’s cozy and comfortable with many great features (master balcony and beautiful wrap around deck). We have so many fond memories with our kids from this trip, but also would’ve booked it for a romantic couples getaway.

Riverfront / Golf Course Cabin in West Glacier

We had a quick 5 night stay at Heart River Rock Retreat and enjoyed every minute of it. Close enough to ride bikes/ jog to West Glacier Village or to GNP. Fly fished right behind cabin, great views from deck. Had campfire in riverside firepit w/ lots of seating around it. Played golf at Glacier View course across the street- rented clubs, beautiful course, and very friendly pro shop! Bear activity right across the river one evening ( that land is actually GNP)! The only reason for 4 stars is the cabin is in need of a little “TLC” ( updating) and desperately needs new cookware. Other than that, it suited our needs for a short stay!

Rustic Homebase!

This property is perfect for those of us who came to hike Glacier! It is right outside the gates to Glacier National Park. Christie the property manager made sure everything was just right! What more can you ask for? It sits on the river and has a fire pit right next to the river… it is well finished and has everything you could ask for including bear spray! As well as a washer and dryer for those after hike clothes.

Perfect Location

We had a great stay. Just off the town of West Glacier with easy access to store, restaurant, ice cream and park! It was so nice not having a tv and connecting with our 3 teemage boys!

Montana Adventure

Although we hit some glitches with weather and unforeseen circumstances, our overall stay was a good one. Had an unfortunate water heater issue in the home, but was very pleased with the timely response from the manager and overall handling of the situation. The river views and access to GNP can't be beat! Hope to return at a more seasonable time!

Beautiful river retreat location

My husband and I spent 5 nights at the Heart Rock celebrating our 30th anniversary and loved the location on the river and near an entrance to Glacier NP. The cabin/home, although a bit dated, was clean, comfortable and well stocked (including bear spray!). As we drove, we brought extra supplies with us such as toilet paper, paper towel, laundry pods, etc, as have needed our own at other VRBOs, but did not need to use our own supply. Loved waking up to a view of the river/trees, being close to Glacier for access to day hikes, the pre arrival info including where to get groceries and what to bring, as well as the book of information on the area which is in the cabin. We used the indoor fireplace and there is also a nice fire pit by the river. Nice deck off the back for relaxing. My husband missed having a TV, but I didn't! (He was able to hook into MN Twins games on his computer) Overall, a great experience!

Amazing cabin on the river

We loved our stay at this cabin! It is in the perfect location very close to west glacier entrance and sits on a beautiful river which was perfect to dip your feet in after hiking.. It had everything we needed for our long weekend stay. It was so nice to cook meals after spending the day hiking at glacier, it even had a crockpot which was amazing for our last nights meal. Highly recommend this place to stay in and we would stay here again.
