Highly recommended!

A stress-free experience from the initial enquiry about availability of the property through to checking out. The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring the area and has all the facilities that we required. Alison (the host) and her family made us feel extremely welcome! This was just a short break of 3 days which, in hindsight, wasn't long enough. I would definitely like to visit Devon again, for a longer duration. If I do, I will definitely look to stay in this property again.

Lovely holiday, great hosts

This was a fantastic experience. The house is in the middle of the riding school and farm, so from various parts of the house you can see people having riding lessons, horses being washed and groomed etc. We had a riding lesson/hack and our daughters did the half day working in the stables, which they loved. The house is well equipped, spacious and warm. Alison and Steven were wonderful hosts, very friendly and easy to deal with. We would definitely go back and would recommend it (assuming you like horses!)

Beautiful countryside cottage

We had a lovely stay at the cottage of the Devenish Pitt riding school. The house was very clean and comfortable, the hosts (Alison) were very welcoming, and the surrounding countryside was simply stunning! We will definitely stay here again!

English countryside

We had a great time in Devon. Property was nice, just one remark. A small private garden to sit and relax would be an addition!

Superb setting, lovely hosts. Warm and cosy. Kids loved making friends with all of the horses.

Country cottage on a working farm/ stables. Had a fantastic stay as the cold weather drew in. Exhilarating walks around the grounds and close the the sea and Donkey Sactuary.

Idyllic

In the depth of wonderful countryside with magnificent views yet only a few minutes from either Honiton or the Dorset/Devon coast this cottage is a joy. Our grandchildren loved the horses and being around the activities of the riding school.

A wonderful base to expore the Devon Countryside

We loved Stable Cottage and would like to go again. There were three of us, including a 17 year old, and we had a great week. The weather was very kind, and the stunning countryside was shown off to best advantage. It felt a real privilege to be able to stay in such a beautiful part of the world. As its name implies, Stable Cottage is situated right in the centre of the riding school so if you like horses you can see them at very close quarters. We had a most interesting time watching the farrier at work, and talking to him on his weekly visit to the riding school. The riding lessons we had were really encouraging and safe for us as inexperienced riders and included a hack in the nearby fields and lanes. The family who own the property live next door and were very friendly, and helped with hints about good local walks, also places to visit in the area. The overall location of the cottage was great for exploring East Devon – we could get to lots of places that were within 30 to 40 minutes' drive. We were thankful that we had borrowed a car that could cope with the very steep hills! We hope to visit Devenish Pitt again soon!
