The Decorah House is perfectly located on the west side of town near the Upper Iowa River and Luther College. Perfect for entertaining, walkable to the river and trail and sleeps 8! Excellent location for all that Decorah has to offer! Our major renovation project was complete in 2018.
Please note there are 4 bedrooms. One of the bedrooms upstairs is "walk thru" meaning it walks through a bedroom to get to the hallway.
We have been active since early 2018 on Airbnb and have 5 stars. We warmly welcome you!

Six 76-78 year olds now have meet every year at Homecoming for 54 years. One has passed all have aged. We always stayed in hotel rooms. Last year things got crazy. The expense went nuts and we were needing a safe place to sit and visit. Our party days are done but we specialize in great conversation. A year ago we decided to come on another weekend to lower cost. Then one of our member couples were invited to stay at the Decorah house with other friends. I was invited one evening for a dinner. What a great place. Plenty of room for conversation in multiple areas. Great space and cooking items. Comfortable and clean everywhere. We will come back. Bring a coffee pot as a Keurig is provided with cups but we needed and brought massive amounts of beans and a grinder. It all worked out. It's shoeless so if your aged and type two or need footwear to climb steps bring rubber bottom shoes for inside. David.
The property was immaculately clean, comfortably furnished and in a quiet, lovely neighborhood. This exceptional property exceeded every expectation we could have hoped for as a place to stay, while we visited Decorah!
Very accurate description. The property was cute and clean. We felt that we were in a safe neighborhood with friendly neighbors. Close to all the local attractions. We would definitely stay again!
The perfect setup for a Luther reunion! Plenty of space for all of us with a great kitchen and living room to enjoy and catch up. Coffee was well appreciated and bathroom necessities were fully stocked. Would definitely stay here again!
It fit our needs perfectly and the host was accommodating and responded in a timely manner. Thank you so much for allowing us the use of your home it was really nice.
The Decorah House has been the best place for our family to stay on two occasions in the past year. It is a great location, clean and homey. We highly recommend it for anyone looking to stay in Decorah!
My sister, mom and I stayed here, for the weekend, and it was a great place. There was plenty of room, the house was very clean and nicely appointed, and the beds were very comfortable. Our only minor complaint was we are Houston Astros fans and we couldn’t get the playoff games, on TBS, on the cable TV setup.
We gather each year to attend the Studio Arts Tour and have stayed here twice and found it the best accommodation fior a group of 5.
the main level bedroom and bathroom are great features and the kitchen is well equipped for group meals. Very satisfied.
Large, comfortable, clean home with lots of character in a convenient location.. We enjoyed walking to the Decorah Community Prairie, Pulpit Rock Brewing, Whippy Dip, and the Trout Run Trail. The surrounding neighborhood is lovely and this house is, too. It was a great stay. When planning for your breakfast beverages, be advised the only coffee maker is a Keurig machine and there is no tea kettle. We look forward to a return visit!
House neat and clean easy to find. Especially enjoyed the large round dinning table the card games with the family.
Loved the seating in the kitchen as well as it facilitated more family conversations at breakfast.
My family of 4 came up for a long weekend away from big city life. Decorah House is beautifully decorated and comfortable house with pleanty of space to spread out yet be together. Check in and out was super easy. Location is ideal. Decorah is charming and Iowa is beautiful country. I highly recommend Decorah House- wouldn't hesitate to stay there again.
The Decorah House is a great spot in a quiet neighborhood in Decorah. Our group of 7 college friends enjoyed the comfy beds and great visiting spaces. The paved patio behind the home was a perfect setting for early morning coffee and catching up. This spot's proximity to Luther College and to downtown Decorah is perfect. Pulpit Rock Brewery and The Landing are a hop, skip, and a jump away. We would absolutely stay here again!
We needed a place close to Luther College for graduation weekend and we needed 4 bedrooms...this was a perfect house! Had a really nice time. House is very well stocked and clean and also very cozy/homey. Would stay here again for sure.
Decorah is such a cute little town. Lots of choices to eat, shop and have some adult beverages. This property was clean, and so cute. Also, close to the downtown area. Thanks so much!
The house is decorated beautifully, was extremely clean and they thought of so many little touches. The fluffy bedding, the coffee station, and the decor really made it such a fun stay. The owner was very quick to respond whenever I communicated with her. I would definitely recommend this house!
