In the pretty, quiet area of petit chatel, with a recent major refurbishment, this spacious family owned apartment on two levels totalling 100m2 has a stylish interior complete with new furniture and refitted kitchen. Wooden ceilings provide a traditional atmosphere, the covered balconies give space and light and the open plan living/dining/kitchen space provides a sociable communal area. Ideal for two families as there are two bedrooms and one bathroom on each level. The master bedroom has a king sized bed, ensuite wc and a large private balcony with double doors. There is also room for a travel cot. The other bedroom on the first level has two single beds with an adaptor to convert to a king bed. The kitchen include a new oven, ceramic hob, dishwasher and coffee machine. Dining area seats 8 comfortably. Free wifi, tv with dvd player and selection of films. Games and books are also supplied. There is also a washing machine/dryer. The top floor has two bedrooms, one with a double and a single bed, the other with two single beds. Both have velux windows in the roof. A separate bathroom and wc complete this level. Private ski locker, lift and two secure parking parking spaces, one underground. A short walk to the nearest chair lift and ski bus stop, so car is not essential but advisable. Quality bed linen and towels provided.

Déçus, 2 pieces correctes,autres petites et mansardées, chauffage trop faible pour le volume, chauffage sdb en panne, télévision ne fonctionne pas,acces appart difficile pour personnes âgées. Rapport qualité prix mauvais, loin du centre
We had a great time in Chatel.We went over New Year so it was very busy in resort.However Great communication with owner and apartment was exactly as described so would certainly recommend. We were 2 families so it worked well with one family on top floor with own bathroom then another on the bottom floor with own bathrooms.A car was suggested on the advert but we only used the area ski shuttle bus it was okay but the uphill walk from the bus stop is a little tough so I can understand why a car is best.
Super appartement pour 8, confortable et spacieux ! Il manque peut-être une petite table basse pour dans le salon et un peu de vaisselle supplémentaire.
L'accès aux pistes demande un peu de marche. On peut soit se rendre au télésiège du petit-chatel ( 10'-15' à pied par la route ) mais pas super pratique pour l'accès aux portes du Soleil. Sinon la navette passe tout près de l'appartement et on peut donc se rendre plus bas dans la station où l'accès aux portes du soleil est top. ( demande donc plus de temps avant d'arriver aux pistes) Super séjour entre amis !
We had a good week in Chatel. The property was very clean, comfortable and warm and good space for 7 (5 adults and two teenagers) - would perhaps have been a bit tight for max capacity of 9 for a two family holiday.
Instructions from the owner were clear and everything was as described,
We had a high vehicle (VW caravelle) with a roof box that would not fit in the property car park.
There are quite a lot of steps up to the appartment although there is a lift.
Overall a very good week away skiing - thank you !

Nous avons passé un très bon séjour. L’appartement est spacieux, sur deux étages (parfait pour 2 familles), bien équipé et propre, dans un quartier très calme. Il y a deux places de parking, c’est très pratique.
La location est pleinement conforme à la description. La superficie est confortable pour deux couples avec 5 enfants. Le plus 3 toilettes et une salle de bain par niveau, pratique pour deux familles. La chambre du bas est relativement spacieuse.
Le coin cuisine semble récent et est très pratique. L'espace de vie est d'une bonne taille permettant aux 9 personnes du séjour de ne pas se déranger.
Communication excellente avec l'hôte, car celui ci nous avait signalé un dysfonctionnement sur un chauffage, nous proposant une solution de substitution. La réparation du chauffage a été effectué en début de semaine.

Très bien adaptée à plusieurs couples. Nous étions 3 couples d'amis (sans enfants) et nous avions chacun un petit coin personnel (WC + lavabo), en plus des 2 salles
de bains.
Vraiment parfait. Seul bémol : la télévision annoncée dans le descriptif de l'appartement n'en n'est pas une (mais seulement un écran pour jeux et autres...).
Donc attention à ceux qui attachent de l'importance à un
téléviseur (ex.: familles avec enfants).
The apartment is really lovely. We are a family of 7, dad, mum, 3 grown up children and 2 partners. The apartment is big enough for us all to sit, eat, drink, play very tense scrabble, sleep and everything else.
The kitchen is extremely well equipped and the bedrooms are spacious and comfortable as are all the furnishings.
There is a lift within easy (3 mins) walking distance, and depending on where you rent from you can come down in the the lift, drop your skis etc at the shop opposite the lift, put walking boots on and either head home or stop off at the bar. At the lift your skis are stacked up for you on the at the back of the chair lift and handed back to you when you get off. Amazing service.
The apartment owners are friendly, helpful and excellent especially when dealing with numpties like us.
If we were to return to the ski area we would look to stay in this apartment.

Spatieux, propre, bien équipé, idéale pour se retrouver entre amis ou en famille.
Ne pas faire attention au gardien du yeti3 qui est très rustre

L'appartement en duplex offre vraiment un environnement pour chaque famille. Il a 3 balcons très appréciables.
La communication avec le propriétaire a été géniale. Il est sur le haut du Petit Châtel mais ça n'empêche pas de rejoindre la station a pied et sinon il y a les bus.
Petite chaise haute pliable très utile avec un bébé.
Il manque un peu de couverts dans la cuisine pour être à l'aise a 8, mais le propriétaire a pris note de la remarque, ça sera rectifié je pense.
Un gardien d'immeuble un peu envahissant et qui matraque de règles, mais ça le propriétaire n'y peut rien.
2 places de parking numérotés pour l'appartement + un petit parking de 5 places disponibles en dehors de la résidence.
Au dernier étage, nous n'avons pas entendu un seul instant les voisins.
Nous avons passé un très bon séjour.

Fortement recommandé
L´appartement est très confortable et très bien équipé. Il convient parfaitement pour deux familles de 4 personnes. L'accès au domaine skiable est aisé. On peut prendre un télésiège à 300m, la navette à 150 m ou même se rendre à Pré La Joux en voiture car il n'y a aucun souci de stationnement, l'appartement comprenant 2 places dont une couverte.

Great apartment much improved recently
We have been coming to this apartment for a number of years. We like the recent refurbishments particularly the new kitchen and living/dining spaces. The bedding and towels are of a high quality and everywhere is clean and well cared for. The skiing is excellent and extensive, there are many friendly restaurants and bars in the village (Bar Godile and le Perrier are our favourites) and we appreciate the discount at one of the local ski hire shops. The owners are helpful and the information pack has plenty of useful information, both about the apartment and the local area and facilities. There is a regular ski bus from near the apartment but we find driving to Pres la Joux for the two fast chair lifts to the main area is quick and easy and now there are two new lifts above the lake in Chatel there is an even shorter drive if you want an alternative. Linga also works well (on the way to Pres la Joux) You can also walk to the Barbossine chair lift although the access to the Portes du Soleil pistes is limited from there.

Excellent apartment with easy access to ski lifts
The apartment is warm and spacious with a large living room and kitchen with more than enough room for our party of 7 people. Ski lifts are a short walk away and the ski resort is very well run. The apartment was clean and well maintained. The restaurants in Chatel are excellent and the village has a very friendly atmosphere. We will definitely be staying again.

Really enjoyed our stay. Perfect for two families.
Perfect location. Walking distance from lift or bus to transport to other ski areas. Great living area. Mike, the owner, was very helpful.

Family owned apartment by three British brothers
Why they chose this property
Chatel is a friendly alpine village with a variety of restaurants and bars. There is no high rise development so it retains its charm and traditional feel. With easy access to the whole Portes de Soleil ski area, a range of slopes are on your doorstep. We enjoy being slightly out of the main village as it is quieter and the views are spectacular.

The apartment is on the top floor so the views are impressive. The spaciousness of the apartment allows enough room for everyone to be comfortable.
