A great getaway!
This was a beautiful and thoroughly relaxing house! The pictures on the website are accurate and show the welcoming spaces and comfortable rooms. The lake view was a highlight as we enjoyed the many levels of the outdoor patios and fire pit, and the local area kept us busy too.The owner was kind and accommodating as well as responsive. I highly recommend this property.

Fun Thanksgiving Retreat
We very much enjoyed our Thanksgiving stay with extended family at this lakeside retreat. The view was great and there was some water in the lake; we saw fox, geese and ducks walking on the ice and swimming down the middle of the lake. It was a very cozy and comfortable house-great for kids and a dog. We did bring a stand-alone gate to confine the youngest (2) from some of the stairs. I think the owner should be aware, however, that there was pervasive evidence of mice--droppings were found on the bedside tables, a few on the bed sheets, on the stove top, on the couch in the master bedroom, in bowls in the kitchen, and a lot along the window sills. We brought some lysol wipes and made the best of it (the house, aside from the droppings was very clean and lovely), but the droppings were a health concern, especially since we had young kids and a dog with us. We have lived in the country and understand that mice happen, but this was a little above our comfort level. Overall, great stay, and we would consider returning if the rodent issue is addressed.

Perfect Vacation Home
Ann’s beautiful Lake Jeff Cottage was the perfect home-base for our long weekend visit! The house is very spacious and very well appointed with beautiful antique pieces integrated into the decor. It has multiple wonderfully comfortable spaces for relaxing and a very well equipped modern kitchen. The location is perfect – right on the lake and about a 25 minute walk to town. One of our objectives in visiting in October was to see the fall foliage, and this cottage delivered! The view of the lake and its surroundings was gorgeous!!! We would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area!

Fun winter weekend getaway
The house was as pictured and was clean and welcoming. The common space was comfortable and the kitchen was able to host us for meals for 8. The parking was not as spacious after accumulation of ice, but we were able to make do. We were pleased and grateful for a comfortable getaway for the weekend

Perfect weekend getaway!
My family and I wanted a few days to get away. We wanted something secluded and on a lake. This was the perfect place! So quiet and peaceful. We woke up to a beautiful sunrise overlooking Lake Jeff. The fishing was great! We caught fish every day. We didn't have the opportunity to use the rowboat, but it was nice that it was available. The terraced seating areas are beautiful. We enjoyed an outdoor fire for the first 2 nights of our stay. The owner had wood delivered for us to use in the fire pit and inside in the wood-burning stove. The house was very comfortable and clean. The kitchen had some things available like spices, etc. but we brought everything we needed to prepare meals. If you're a wine drinker, bring some wine glasses. There was only one in the cabinet. Other than that, we had everything we needed. Amy was excellent at communicating. Overall a great weekend in a lovely home. We hope to rent again at this location next year in the warmer weather.

Great cozy cabin
The house was very clean and cozy with lots of space for a group of five (could easily hold 7 people). The outside terrace with the fire pit overlooking the lake is amazing. There's also lots of wildlife around. We saw deer, a bald headed eagle and many other birds. I'd definitely like to come back in the summer.

Quiet cottage in Jeffersonville
The cottage was quiet and secluded (a bit tricky to find!), and the owner was very responsive when we needed anything. The house is spacious but oddly laid out. The house and furnishings are very old (and probably damp from being on the water), so although it was relatively clean when we arrived, there is a musty odor throughout the house. There were a few other issues (e.g. the sliding glass door to the deck did not work) but Ann was very responsive and always tried to help. There were a few cute spots in Jeffersonville (the bakery is so charming!!) and some scenic bridges nearby, but we spent most of our trip further east near Kingston. A lot of things/places nearby were closed due to COVID (including playgrounds), and as Ann mentioned the lake was very low due to lack of rain. Near Kingston, the kids loved the Catskills Railroad and Kelder Farm for apple picking. Highly recommend for a nice fall foliage adventure!

Summer Get Away
The house gave us a place where my wife and I could go for the summer, out of the City. It was a place where my grandchildren could visit and play outdoors. It was exactly the way it was described; more than adequate for our needs. We stayed the whole summer. The lower floor tended to be damp. Overall we had a wonderful summer.

Our group of four had a wonderful long stay at the cottage. We were able to work from home using strong Wifi; relax on one of three terraces; and watch the geese, beaver, and bald eagles. About the host

Host profile image
My husband and I were raised in Manhattan, NYC. We've traveled to the mountains of Sullivan County for decades. We were fortunate to have purchased our home located in a beautiful setting, in need of renovation. Once renovated, Lake Jeff Cottage has afforded us the freedom to escape the hustle and bustle of NYC and unwind in the peaceful setting of Lake Jeff Cottage. Our son is in college and it’s more difficult to get away these days as a family, which is why we decided to share our home with you.

Why they chose this property

We chose the quaint town of Jeffersonville as it offers a supermarket, bakery, pub, casual food options, and shopping conveniently located just one mile from the cottage.

Jeffersonville is located close to other towns like Livingston Manor, Roscoe, Bethel, and the Delaware River. The locals are welcoming and they host a number of fun family events in the town throughout the year.

What makes this property unique

The cottage offers four bedrooms and 6 beds on three floors.
Plenty of room outdoors with multiple terraces for gathering together or if you prefer, find a quiet area to relax alone. There's a fire pit terrace, a barbeque and dining terrace, and a terrace with lounge chairs. There's a bench and chairs on the terrace steps outside the living room door. Across from the house, there's a private l grassy area to play fetch with Fido.
While you feel as though you are miles away from town, you are just one mile up the creek from Jeffersonville. You can easily access the supermarket, shops, and casual dining.
The house is perched above a small, private lake with ever-changing views. Fishing and rowing is highly recommended.
