We had a fantastic stay at this cottage on the Tuckasegee River. Paddle boarding every day from the home was our biggest highlight. The river is special and it definitely put us at peace with incredible scenic experiences on the water. The cottage was conveniently close to town, yet felt secluded. It was also well-equipped with everything we needed to cook or grill meals. Overall, a perfect getaway—we would definitely stay here ag
This was our first time using a rental home verse your typical hotel and let me tell you, we were initially pretty nervous about what we were going to walk into but it turned out to be beyond better then we expected!! I don’t think we will ever go back to hotels after this. The house was clean, tidy, spacious, and had everything you need and then some. The fact that we were able to bring our two large dogs to enjoy this family trip made it that much more special. There is a nice sized fenced in area on the property and plenty of non fenced in area for the dogs to run and play. The water access was such a treasure!!! The river was a large and flowing not just a small stream. We went mid October and the leaves were every shade of orange, red and yellow it was like we something out of a Thomas Kinkade painting. You have the best views from the porch!!! Worth every penny to stay here!!!
We were in Cullowhee to take our daughter to orientation at WCU, We always take our two dogs wherever we go, so a pet friendly location was necessary. Unfortunately, our older dog was recently diagnosed with cancer, so both were left behind with a pet/house sitter.
The cottage is located in a quiet, private area by the river, yet it is near all local restaurants. Our three evenings were spent dining at three different restaurants in Dillsboro - just 7 miles away.
Only two problems and they were minor: the front maple board that is one the eating utensil drawer needs to be glued back to the side boards of the drawer, and the linens on the bed upstairs where our daughter slept reeked on male perfume. She moved to the couch.
We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at this mountain home. The house was clean, roomy, and well-kept. Also enjoyed the river and beauty of surroundings.
Gem of a rental so close to WCU.
We definitely look to book every time my daughter runs there.
This was a good location and a beautiful spot on the river. Close to the Sylvia Greenway for an afternoon walk in a nice setting. We enjoyed our visit. Note: older folks like us might find the stairs a little challenging.
We rented the house for WCU orientation for our son. The house and location were absolutely perfect. All 3 of us enjoyed staying here and plan to return. The house was accurately represented online.

Very nice property that also allows pets.
Nice property and great location for us (between Western Carolina University and Sylva.
Very well supplied, great location, and extremely clean
This is a great vacation house. The owners have put in extra touches to make you comfortable, good selection of pots and pans, and there are plenty of beds to keep your kids happy that they don't have to share. Also as another reviewer stated, there are actually 2 bathrooms instead of 1.
We loved roasting marshmallows at the firepit and talking to the folks floating down the river. Also just down the road is the Locust Creek Access area which is a starting point for the Jackson County Greenway. It's an easy, dog-friendly, walking path along the opposite side of the river that you can see this house from.
Awesome location to visit your WCU student, easy trip to Waynesville, Cherokee, Bryson, Dillsboro. Walmart is 10 minutes away in Sylva. And you are on a nice private lot, no neighboring house 20 feet away that didn't show up in the pictures! The people floating down the river will be the closest people to you :-)
I will say there are alot of stairs and if anyone in your party finds that problematic, you may not want to stay here.
But I will also say that we have stayed at alot of vacation rentals and this is the cleanest place we have ever stayed. We got NO dirty feet or socks from walking around in the house. For me that is worth an extra star if I could give it!
Hope to return soon! Thank you Will and family, and Brandie the property manager.
This was a lovely, comfortable home. I was pleasantly surprised to find that there was a 2nd bathroom since this was listed as a 1 bathroom. There were also more beds available than I expected. We would definitely stay here again, especially now that I know there would be plenty of room for my whole family!
The home was very nice and convenient to where we fished. The owner was very responsive. The property manager, after getting check-in information, did not respond to any of my email comments. The kitchen was equipped for the three of us. This home has three (3) bedrooms and a bed in the loft as well as two (2) full baths. Bathrooms were very well equipped with towels, soap, shampoo, TP, etc. You do have to climb outside stairs to gain entrance to the home. It is very quiet next to the river. Very little traffic on the road. We would stay here again.
